One thing I am afraid of is having someone donate something to my museum. I'm OCD like that even though I don't spend time there.

Doesn't that mean less work for you to complete your collection, though? Not sure why having someone donate to the museum would be a bad thing...what am I missing?

Ugh......my Swapnote data was corrupted. Now I have to delete everything. :/
Ugh. I'd hate for that to happen to me. It's bad enough that I've hit 3000 so a lot of old comments are disappearing. Just to warn people when you favourite a note you only favourite the note and not the comments so they will still disappear.

I'll definitely be going online as soon as possible because there will some fruit trading happening... What with none of the shops being open for midnight launch.

So how does the planting work? I remember the new cycle of a day started at 6am when tress start to grow when they are planted before that time. I would think it is the same. I haven't been looking too much into this game as I want to experience the new features fresh without prior knowledge of it. I think I did a fantastic job not spoiling myself too much.

I wish I could have had your patience. I'm as spoiled as rotten turnips.

And hello everyone!

This is pretty off-topic, but I was thinking about it because of swapnote.

Do you guys think that someone who doesn't have any drawing talent can become a good artist? I have always wanted to be a good artist. To be able to take the ideas in my head and make them visual for the world to see. But I'm just such a horrible artist...Can practice really make me better? ;-;

Yes. I'm a terrible artist and I've been practicing on my own time. I'm still pretty terrible but I see some improvement. It might take awhile and a lot of time but that's pretty much what you need to get good at anything.

There's plenty of amazing artists (on deviantart, for example) who are self-taught and got to where they are with a ton of practice. Great thing about practicing art is you can do it whenever and wherever. Keep a little sketchbook on you and do gesture drawings of people when outside, or do quick sketches of the environment and surroundings to improve in that area. Sketch people's facial expressions in TV shows or try to capture movement in action scenes. Plenty of stuff to render. :D

Hmm, I suppose just a "yes" would have sufficed. =x=

Guys, whats the deal with this game? I have no idea what Animal Crossing is and as a new 3DS owner Im intrigued by how fast this thread moves. I looked for some videos and Im not sure I get it, is it something like that game where you are a farmer? (i cant remember the name :( i have terrible memory as you can probably tell already)

Are you thinking of Harvest Moon? It's probably one of the more similar games but it still really isn't Animal Crossing.

Yeah, except it's online! Here.

Ahh... I think I've played on that site before a looong time ago. Used to play Mafia all the time in IRC.

The simplest way to explain it is to say it's a life sandbox game. You're starting a new life in a new town and you do what you want in it.

And it is pleasant.

Hi, there!

Yes, just practice.
While at the test site, I can't have any electronic devices, so I always take a small sketch book, and draw every chance I get.

The results have been pretty swell. I developed my own style, started to implement the basic traits of art on my sketches, and discovered that I REALLY like abstract art.

So... yeah! Just practice a lot, and you'll draw better!
It's not a sudden change, but it will happen.
Just keep at it! :)

I feel like I already have nostalgia for this game.

But yeah, the AC Train is coming and I'm ready to hop aboard! (I'd like some more active friends so if anyone wants to add me, my friend code is 4081-5682-3874.)

If you can, do what I did, and find a copy of the DS one. It'll work as a quick introduction to the world of Animal Crossing. :)

Also, just switched shifts, so I'll be posting during the evening more! Yay!

I can't believe I forgot to ask earlier. I was *slightly* addicted to the screenshot function in city folk. I loved taking pictures of my little life there. Is there a similar function in New leaf by chance?

Please :(

YES! :D Just press them L+R buttons! Only thing is the compression on them is a little disappointing. Oh well, you can't have everything.

I believe you press the R button on the 3DS to take a screenshot

Some of you may already know this, but if you get Shrunk three fruits in a basket instead of just one, you will learn a rarer emotion.

I see that people were giving prizes away to random friends on their list. Sats is giving away a part of her soul! Well my random prize is.. my hand in marriage!

No refunds.

Yep. Not everyone is just born with the talent. It's something you develop over time with practice. I used to draw a lot when I was younger. Though, when I was younger, I just drew and didn't really care how it looked. Other kids used to say "Wow, you're a great artist how'd you draw that" and it was a good feeling. But I after awhile I didn't draw as much and never really took the time to learn how to really draw and that caught up to me. I noticed people in my high school making my stuff look like mediocre stuff.

I still like to draw but I also still haven't put in the time I could to learn how to draw difficult stuff like hands and different angles and stuff. I supposed I should put more time into doing that every now and then.

I have one of these
and am starting to get used to it. Definitely beats a mouse. Saves paper but still finding it harder to use than writing on paper mostly because I'm looking at the screen while I draw so I can't see how far the pen is from the pad all the time.
