Sorta. You can visit an instance of their town using a dream code. However you won't be able to actually take anything from that town.

Ideally I would wait, but heck no I can't wait. I'll be traveling a lot, and I'll open my gates a few times, more and more as my town gets better.

I only have the six basic stationary types and I'd love more. Especially some of the special Nintendo ones.how do you do that?
I don't really care about how my town looks (because I know that my town will never be impressive), but I also want to have enough time to just play by myself at the beginning and get accustomed to things. I also know that whenever I open my gate I'm gonna be too paranoid about troublemakers to ever let them out of my sight.

I just unlocked voice recording and the option to use coins to unlock additional features. Are there more unlocks I should work towards beyond this point? This is passing the time nicely while I wait for Animal Crossing, that and my exams/study.
I believe that is the last unlock other than the credits.

I was thinking about the Best Friends feature, and I think if all goes well and I end up with some trustworthy best friends, I'll leave my 3DS on all night with the gate open for Besties only. Maybe it would benefit friends on the other side of the world who would be awake when I'm sleeping.

Most of them seem quite low in sound but I've heard some nice ones lately.
Unless you mean that you're making some yourself and can't get it to sound right.
Ugh, I forget the aspect of online I hate. The manual saving. I've had DC's during it, hell DC's in general and the network errors.
I didn't have as good as a connection as I do now but I still wonder if any aspect of it is changed.
I'll definitely be going online as soon as possible because there will some fruit trading happening... What with none of the shops being open for midnight launch.

What is the 'Best Friends' feature?
When playing with friends, you can add them as "Best Friends" (up to 32 I believe) and it gives them more freedom in your town and vice versa. So you can open your gates to all friends, or only Best Friends. Things like that.

I love the sound of that. I'd quite happily leave my gates open while I slept, if I could limit visitors to a list of people I felt I could trust enough to let wander unsupervised.

Exactly! I think it'd be cool if they were given more interactions with the villagers and such. So you'd later find out that someone was helping with chores or some such thing. We'll find out soon enough for ourselves though!

I decided to go back and look at my old Swapnotes too. I'm glad I did! The e3 hype was fun, but ever better, I forgot I had some chick swapnote me a pic of her tits. Awesome.

I haven't played an AC game in years, so I'll probably just leave my town wide open and learn the ropes as I go. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how the online stuff works, even if it means someone tramples my flowers or writes something about a dick on a signpost
