Okay, I got some concerning issues I need to address. A member had shared a concern with me about the lewdness in this thread in a swapnote and that a little child gotten ahold of it and showed it around the family. So this is a Rollo Larson worst case scenario that did happen.

So I'm going to ask you guys, do you think I should put up a column saying it is Kids Safe? Or is this asking too much? Members could ask for a PG rating or expect of this nature could put that down. OR should we do the reverse, do we want "R" rating towns to be listed?

The question is... should I do "Kids Safe" or "R Rated" column to avoid another incident like this? Personally I'd ask if this 3DS is being shared anyway.

That is quite concerning.

Wouldn't having a column for Shared 3DS work? It'll also be a column that acts on a N/A by default, and members can be in contact to change it?

I think you could just label whoever's sharing their 3DS with kids or whatever on the list. And everybody else is left default/blank, unless they ask.

edit: ^ beat. lol

So wait, somebody actually should of thought about the children?

Seriously though those Sats + Ken combo notes are pretty lewd. They're great fun to me, but I can of course imagine how messed up they might be in the wrong hands/eyes.
Would anybody go as far as having an R-rated town though?

It doesn't necessarily stay in swapnotes. I'm saying the name of the town or the name or even the language or texture tiles can be very very offensive in one's town. So... yeah. I don't know what I'm supposed to do here. I can't tell people to watch their 3DS closely. -.-'

That's a good point. A section where people say if they share their 3DS would be a good idea.

I'm missing out on some good Swapnotes by the sounds of things. Shame their isn't a forwarding option.

But seriously I don't think the rest of us should have to worry about what age rating our towns should be classified as because one user lets his kids share their 3DS. A column to say who does this is all we need.

Bottom line is letting your kid go into other's towns in general is probably a bad idea. Swear words and all.

Correct. Due to the fact that you can only see the AC's Character Name and Town Name in the visiting towns list is very disconcerting because it can open a HUGE bag of shit in the hands of some kids. :\

I think it's more of a concern for others who probably don't want kids in their town.

And now I'm really curious about these swapnotes.

Agreed for myself for once... but yes it goes without saying, I really REALLY expect people to at least to have some common fucking sense about this "online content" is not safe for any kid period.

There should be parental controls handling this

Oh no kidding but ya know... stupidity knows know no bounds UNFORTUNATELY. -.-'

Okay... I'll include a section ASKING if this 3DS is being shared (checkmark of sorts). There's ALSO a comment section for further info, so those who are very concerned can put down PG rating or R rating or whatever they like.

Animal Crossing is an adult's game.
It's understandable though, even in GFAQS, there are topics asking for certain ages.

I can see myself saying FUCK when we miss a balloon.

No offense, but if I was a parent and I'd share my 3DS with my kid I wouldn't add any GAFfers to my friendlist. At least not random GAFers I don't know.

Oh, and there's always Parental Control that blocks online functionality iirc.

Haha.

Yes

Really? Sounds like an overly protective parent then. Though I did grow up with an artist for a father so seeing illustrations or sculptures of human naughty parts wasn't exactly a foreign concept when I was young.

I had to look up your GMT to make sure. You're from UK. You need to understand that American culture on sex is HILARIOUS.
