i think that is one huge reason why they got the media stuff out before e3 because they can be trumped by Apple at e3 in that department. at e3 they will focus on gamers as they will tune in to them instead of apple.

Big exclusives in the western market were few and far between this gen. Well, I actually can't think of any. At least not any that were actual genuine exclusives. Who knows what'll happen next gen. Many of us thought that it'd be a repeat of this gen because of rising dev costs, but people in the know have been suggesting that Sony and MS have been able to secure exclusives.

We even had leaked contracts about Destiny being exclusive, and that didn't happen. We'll see. FFXV and Titan are pretty specific instances. I seriously doubt a PS2 style revival of true third party exclusives.

I hope they nail the pacing of the conference. They should do the same thing they did at the PS4 reveal event. I kind of feel that the new marketing team they've hired are doing a great job in planning all these things since Sony's PS4 campaign has been perfect so far.

I don't think that anyone expects to ever see a console with exclusives on the level that the PS2 had. Essentially every major game (aside from sports titles) were either fully exclusive or timed exclusive to the PS2.

Quite awesome. Interestingly, Silicon Studio (the studio behind 3DDGH) recently confirmed that they're working on a PS3 and a Vita game. Those might not be a sequel, but their track record is solid so we'll still get a fantastic game out of it.

Of course the PS4 won't get many third party exclusives, nor did PS3, nor will PS5.

I don't think that the situation will change in a meaningful way.
Ok of course there might/will be a few exceptions on both sides but we've already seen that Microsoft has failed to secure real exclusives among the big fish like COD, FIFA, Destiny,etc which is already remarkable and a sign of the current situation.
Even if Microsoft gets the exclusive on Respawn's new online fps because if fits better with their online strategy while Sony gets a Final Fantasy exclusive because it fits better with their target audience (or because Sony saved their ass again and rescued the Versus XIII project) it won't change a lot in the big scheme. Same if MS gets a timed exclusive on Dead Rising 3 and Sony a timed exclusive on Deep Down.
Eventually most titles will end up on both platforms, the main difference will be made by the investements in first party development, something that even Microsoft seems to understand at this point given their recent comments and commitment.

I don't know how hard it is to find a copy of now but it's worth it.
Everything about the style is amazing and lots of fun. There are some really cool mechanics and fun minigames as well.

I usually relish and revel in the hype of new consoles... it's fun. But I think the close proximity of E3 and the release of TLoU (my most anticipated game in forever) is creating a kind of hype superstorm. It's almost, uncomfortable. It is not pleasant that's for sure. Wish I could take a nap for two weeks.
