Yeah, the OT will be like

Everyone will be playing the game. XD

No no, OT is a WEEK before the launch. This is HYPE week. And worse for Europeans. :(

It will be the hypest week followed by near silence.

Actually not quite, there'll be people posting screenshots to bragging they got this and that to asking for TURNIP prices, and talking about their villagers lol about how much they suck or how awesome. :3 Again..... killing the poor EU with envy too.

Dawww, np. We need a Garden GAF anyway.
My placement style may surprise a little. I found in Wild World that I really liked to go with a natural flow instead of e.g. a dedicated area for flowers. So you'll find two flowers here, four flowers there, but they'll all be placed to hopefully maximize hybridization. :)

Incidentally, I didn't get much done in City Folk, so I don't know if this is totally new, but blue roses are apparently made in a very interesting fashion this time around.
You need to cross not black and purple, but red and red where the reds are offspring of a red/purple cross, according to this.
If this is right, blues are gonna be astronomically rare, and may require me to modify my strategy a bit.

I thought the same thing!! Haha... unless it was Saturday. Unload unload unload!
Haha, yeah. Thankfully I rarely got to that point :)

Man, I think even with the Oracle games it's gonna be a hard wait. Especially as we get closer to the launch. 8C

Copy is all paid off now though.

I shouldn't have looked at that. ;__________; I'll wait on flowers still but damn it, that just makes me want to do it right now!

I'm definitely starting right away (or, at least, as soon as I can buy seeds or if I luck out with the right wild flowers.) I'll just be a slow walker and probably do more visiting than inviting. :)

And if I happen to get one... well, hopefully I can breed more from it, and spread it around!

I have Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Dk3D holding me down until June 14th. But the wait is killing me already!

So are you going to get Beautiful Town ordinance then?

Its WW all over again. I will be forever haunted at my bad flower skills.

Maybe. I really don't mind weeding or watering, though, and I think it earns you medals to do so?

Ahh, it's not that hard, it just takes dedication.

Well, blue roses will probably be hard. I may even have to take notes to remind myself what flowers came from where…

Holy Crap, I just watched GameXplain video where he went to the island.
It looked incredibly awesome, hype meter is through the roof now.

Any tips? I was really bad at it in WildWolrd, like really bad.

I started watching, he reached the Island and I thought "No I can't spoil this for myself" and I quickly switched it off. The wait is unbearable. *Plays some DK3D*

Yeah, you could wait on it I think. Not sure if you still have to pay to have it changed later on.
I got the impression you did. 20k shouldn't be too bad, provided I think it through and don't change ordinances willy-nilly.

Also, yeah, there are three medals/badges/whatever-they-are for weeding. Beautiful Town might come in handy more later when I have flowers everywhere than in the beginning when I don't have many.

Heck yeah. I memorized the URL to that page, transcribed the crosses into my Palm Pilot, you name it. :D (Of course, eventually it just stuck in my head.)

…I just realized I completely avoided playing more Style Savvy this evening. I had intended to do some more moon-grinding and try to wrap that game up before AC!

This is what I'm doing. I think that completing this game will take me a week if not more...

Had no idea there was a mechanic behind it

Yeah, same. Granted, I've never really gone out to the internet to look up guides/info for the prior Animal Crossing games, and to my knowledge the game itself doesn't give any indication that there's a flower breeding system in play.

If anyone knows, what time do shops normally open and close? and how does the time change when using the early bird or night owl ordinance?

I first saw a random rare flower I got curious and looked it up. I just got lucky with that random spawn and I just started hybridizing from there.

As far as I remember correctly from WW, the shops open at 8 and close at 6. Ordinances allow 3 extra hours. :3 Nook's shop however was open til 11 pm.

I need this game now. It's all I think about.

I'm not there yet... but I'm edging ever closer each day.... It starts with putting on the 24hr animal crossing music... Then it leads to streaming City Folk... then it leads to discussions not sane enough for Gaf... then the crazy shit happens.

I hadn't known about it either, honestly, I've been keeping myself somewhat in the dark... kind of want to be surprised by things at random like I was when I first played the game on GCN.

I just realized that if I'm gonna be playing this game I'm gonna need to change my routine. Waking up at 10PM isn't gonna help me with this game I imagine. :P

There are two main shops you'll care about. Re-Tail in your village and the Nookling store in Main Street. Re-Tail will always be 9am to 11pm. Early Bird makes it open at 6am, Night Owl makes it close at 2am.

Nookling is a different story. As you play, the shop upgrades through 5 different versions. The hours are different for each version of it. So I'll give you the hours for the first version and the last version,

Nookling Junction: 8am to 10pm. Early Bird: 6am, Night Owl: Midnight
T&T Emporium: 9am to 9pm. Early Bird: 6am, Night Owl: Midnight

Yup. New flower types are probably gonna be the biggie.
New flowers as well? Man I am excited of learning an old feature even more now.

We can make the stores stay open later? It is like they took everything I wanted and put it into the game. :'D

This is good. During the summer I go through dramatic changes in sleep schedules constantly. I am currently synced to EuroGAF.
darklin0, read FearMyWrench's post, his info is better than mine. :3
Yes, it answered most of my questions.

There is one left. How often can you change ordinance? Are there any requirements to change them?
I lied it was 2.

Based on this I'll definitely go Night Owl.
