InFamous needs an on-stage demonstration

But stuff like DriveClub, Killzone, and Knack are probably better served having new trailers.

Sometimes a good trailer is better than a live demonstration, anyhow. The Killzone trailers always used to get me hyped.

I think that DriveClub would also shine in the context of a live demo.

I'm getting a bit "worried" at this point about PS4. A lot of rumors going on about Microsoft and 3rd party developers and exclusives. I guess Sony just doesn't have the cash to compete at the same level. Games like Mirror's Edge 2 (and other big games hinted) being exclusive is a huge thing (for me at least it is for ME2).

Anyhow, my big hope is a re-reveal for the Last Guardian. I'd really love to see this game being re-launched and coming "soon". That would be awesome.

if 'dormant' IPs like ME2 get an exclusive release on Xbox, I wonder if that'll be kinect enabled/required?

If not, I'd expect even if EA do exclusive console versions for xbox, they'll still also be out on PC. So a PS4/PC combo should give you decent coverage.

Mirror's Edge 2 being a X1 exclusive is only a grasping-for-straws-rumour. Two european retailers put up a fake Xbox One boxart of the supposedly existing game, that's it.

I have no idea what Sony may be announcing, but insiders have said that Sony and MS both have managed to secure exclusives. So the fact that you really aren't hearing much about Sony outside of FFXV probably shows just how tightly locked down they have everything.

Thank you Sony for making 'ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Classics HD' one of the EU PS+ titles for June, and thank you for making it available to play two weeks before your E3 conference. ;)

It's been a running joke for years now but this year MUST be it for The Last Guardian. And by that I mean only a re-reveal, not necessarily its release. Maybe TGS is where it happens... but it's bound to be soon, surely?

I vaguely remember rumours about TLG having performance problems with the PS3, and that was quite a while ago. It could be ready now if they decided fairly early to change it to PS4. It really should be ready as a launch title.

If they re-reveal TLG without a release date i'm not exactly going to go "yay! finally!"...

Just listen to the GameInformer Podcast interview with SuckerPunch. They are more excited for the controller than anything else. That telling a lot.

In the Q&A, another thing that was raised was framerate. I don't see why they had to be cagey about that. If they're aiming for launch window, you'd think by now they would have their goals in terms of resolution and fps. Sure, some might complain it's only 30fps (my guess anyway) but hardly a deal breaker to reveal early on and they'll get over it.

Guerrilla are the only team to confirm framerate and resolution. Everyone else is being silent on it. We've heard that Sony is pushing for 1080p 60fps, so we may be in for a surprise at E3.

And Guerrilla are the only one with a confirmed launch game for the PS4 as well as the only one to get a live demo, which suggests that they are far more ahead in development than any other Sony studio. I guess at this point they have it all worked out and there were tweets suggesting that they are literally now just polishing the game.

That's true. I just personally think as a developer you've got nothing to lose to reveal that kind of info at this stage of development. I'm a bit less optimistic about this Sony "push" for 1080p60. Since the info came from Just Add Water, they're hardly at the forefront of great graphics, so I wouldn't be surprised that for whatever they are working on, Sony said just to them, "We think you can push to 1080p60". Killzone already shows that they'll opt more for eye candy. (Yeah, I know, it's one game. Hardly representative of anything).

I think it's now or never for The Last Guardian. People say 'maybe TGS' but I don't think TGS is really all that these days, I mean, didn't Sony reveal two Japanese internal studio titles (Puppeteer and rain) at Gamescom? Gone are the days where Japanese software is revealed at TGS and Western software at E3.

Anyone else think we'll see the revival of some core titles with SCE London? After the cancellation of Eight Days and The Getaway, they managed to put out multiple casual titles every year. The last 2 years their output has dropped off significantly(to the point where only Wonderbook and DanceStar were released last year). Could we Eight Days or The Getaway come back or a new original(core) IP from them?

They're Sony's biggest studio in terms of people, so i'd expect that they're working on something big. With Sony making a big push for the core gamer, then hopefully that means that they've finally been moved back toward making those types of games instead of their usual casual focus.

Moreover, it's do or die for Sony. This E3 is monumentally important for them. Everything that's in a fit state for showing should be there. It doesn't matter if traditionally Uncharted 4 would be announced in six months, it should be there now. Certainly anything that's ready for TGS should be pushed to make E3, and they've had eight years, it's not like it's all that demanding of the Sony overlords to demand it.

SingStar for PS4 maybe.

i hope stuff like the last guardian and ready at dawn's new ip don't slip down the calendar (gamescom, tgs, vga's). i want them to go really big at e3.

Guerrilla confirmed 1080p30 with 4GB dev kits. I don't really know if 8 GB could be used to improve the fps, but... could be? The difference should be used for improve something.

The framerate will not change and things will improve but not as much as perhaps their next game when they will have non volatile specs to work with (expect the ram amount to be around 6-7GB).

I think that DriveClub would also shine in the context of a live demo.

DriveClub would be a good game to demonstrate PS4's online network capabilities.

I do hope Sony plans on doing this. They have to show that their online service is actually going to be good.

it probably will show most of the feature they announce, including the live stream and possibly game invites and cross chat. would be sirry if they don't do that.

Uhm, no. A trailer is enough. Racing games demos are the most boring.

As I have said before, this generation is going to see games that look more like trailers than ever before. Even after the PS4 event people thought some of that stuff was trailers and not in engine stuff.

If they want to show off just how good the games look while playing them then they either have to do a stage demo so you can see that it is real time, or a trailer that very explicitly states that it is gameplay and not pre rendered.

I don't think Sony would dedicate show time to really going into the network stuff, it needs to be an avalanche of bombastic trailers.

We need gameplay demos from as many games as possible. Who said their conference cannot be longer than 2 hours?

I want to see this in action.

Playthroughs, not trailers pls :P
Well, yeah, I meant that really, gameplay heavy trailers is fine too of course. I just mean not linger on any non-game content. It's easy to cover UI and network stuff outside of the show. The conference is declaration of war, network infrastructure isn't really opening with great guns.

it will have DRM

in the same way PS3 has DRM

to believe PS4 will be DRM-free is naive
That's what I said.

Agreed. DriveClub might be the best looking game on the system right now. Show some gameplay.

I think everybody needs to keep expectations in check. Sony is absolutely going to spend at least a little time on network features and multimedia apps to give themselves the illusion of feature parity with the Xbone. They could do it separately, but that would make too much sense. I am also practically willing to put down money that gameplay of AC4 or Watch Dogs will be shown there. Ubisoft always has a presence at Sony's events.

With Destiny and something from Square already confirmed for their presser, Sony by default probably has a lot less time to show new stuff compared to MS, unless they pack every single minute of their presser with content.

And given this is Sony, the kings of wasted time, we're talking about...
