The way Ms is doing the disc installs, that is impossible. You WILL have to have an internet connection, since every game can be installed and played withtou a disc.. Publishers cannot choose.EA killed their DRM. That should be telling.
Did MS every said all games would require the connections?
Maybe both MS and Sony will let publishers decide.

"WHY AREN'T GAME JOURNALISTS ASKING ENOUGH QUESTIONS"
"ASKING QUESTIONS? YOU MUST BE TROLLING FOR HITS"
Those were already answered back at the ps4 reveal.
Someone comfirm something!
That is what I expect too. Anyone expecting otherwise will have a major disappointment at E3.Original plan still intact. Will be up to publishers. That's how i see it

Been quiet since Feb. safe to say there won't be any good news coming.
I agree that Microsoft should've had a consistent message but Sony should not be cheered for being intentionally vague.
He said the company "somewhat hopeful" that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will allow Take-Two to participate in used game sales, though he did not provide any further details.

and they said nothingSo it looks like they still stand by what they said and nothing has changed.
E3 is not far away, so not too concerned about it.
And I'm not going to click Kotaku links.
Essentially they did, until Phil Harrison opened his big mouth.

Why would they confirm anything now when they're getting a lot of free advertising for it?
I like how it is just assumed they will follow Microsoft.
Have some faith guys lol.
I'm sure they have a specific PR plan on how to deliver that information and until they're ready to follow through with that plan then being intentionally vague is their best option.
From the Take Two thread:
It looks more and more like Sony and MS will do the same...
What rumors about the PS4?Rumors of hardware in both consoles turned out to be true. XO's rumors turned out to be true. EA killed online passes just like that. Sony used online passes for their games.
I don't know, it doesn't look too good for gamers at this point.

I find it hard to believe that MS will have some kind of DRM which publishers want and Sony won't.
And it's cute watching people trying to make themselves feel better by saying "Sony will leave it up to the publisher!". Yes and you can count on one hand (maybe two fingers) the number of publishers who won't use it.
If you don't want to see the number of MS 3rd party exclusives increase dramatically, you have better hope Sony has some sort of DRM because that's where the industry is headed.
You may now misdirect your anger towards me.
So basically their system won't even require that you use the internet.
Unless you are ever, ever going to play a third party game.

so say Microsoft comes out and says "We have a Used game policy... its just like before where you can trade your games in, but the dev's get a cut and so do we"
and then sony comes out later (since their conference is later) and they say "NO used game policy...muahahahah)...
I would think the Dev's might be a bit peeved at this and lean more towards working with Microsoft

They have little to gain from announcing their plans now. They have tons more to gain by waiting ten days.If Sony had no plan to restrict used sales, why wouldn't they say anything immediately after Microsoft was getting attacked left and right for their rumored plan? The longer this silence goes on, the more likely it looks that, even if they don't have the exact same thing that Microsoft might have, it'll be something pretty similar.

Every single third party will be paying their own servers to constantly check to authenticate their games?
