The stuff is really confusing to me, but all this talk of Sony splitting the company up has me concerned about the PS4. I dont know much about what it all means, but the way its been explained so far does not make it sound so great at the moment.

If you're talking about the IPO thing, you don't have anything to worry about. They have to consider the proposal because of who it came from, it doesn't mean they'll go through with it. Things like this happen all the time.

10 days, yo!

It feels as if the days are flying by.

.. Wow. You are special.

They're just talking about spinning off the company's various arms as independent entities on the stock market, while retaining majority control over these arms.

Like letting Sony pictures be its own stock on NASDAQ, or Sony Computer Entertainment.

This allows each unit to be judged as its own whole, rather than how it is right now (all business units as one stock, SNE).

That's Sony Corp splitting 10-15% of Movie/Music business as a separate stock. Nothing to worry about, they want more money to help turn around their consumer electronics business.

Uncharted 3's 3D visuals made sweet sweet love to my eyeballs. The plane/free fall section was nothing short of the most spectacular and cinematic gameplay sequence i've ever thumbed my way through. My girlfriend was literally sitting next to me with her 3D glasses on watching what could have been a movie unfold. The skydive sequence, grabbing the cargo, then you splashdown in the sand, and its barren & beautiful at the same time... and the way the sand shifts as you walk up the dunes... my gawd ND are masters at their craft.

Chapter 18, my favorite interactive moment.

No reason to call me names, I said myself that my knowledge of this stuff is limited. Without knowing what allot of things mean in the big picture it just sounds worrying. Allot of it makes it sound like Sony is considering selling these divisions. Forgive me for not being on your level on this topic.

So basically they are splitting the divisions stock on the market, as opposed to splitting the divisions off of the company as a whole?

I'd like games. Lots of 3rd party games.

He mentioned third party games. It was in response to him being asked about how they plan to position the PS4 as a better console for games against the Xbox One this holiday. I was actually surprised that the interviewer specifically mentioned games as the selling point and nothing else when talking about those consoles.

I'm sick of people talking about all these rumored "Shocking Xbone announcement".

Who's to say that Sony won't have some major surprises up its sleeve?

All ya keep hearing is about M$ going for this exclusive or that exclusive. I am sure Sony will have some counter moves of its own.

Sony's probably aren't surprising though. If Final Fantasy XV is exclusive, it's a big deal, but it won't surprise a single person.

Probably because Sony has somehow kept a lot from leaking out this year. Not sure how they're doing it, but there you go.

We don't know that. Right now, GAF is acting like the entirety of 3rd party support consists of EA and Activision.

Can someone make a thread about this? It looks like only the Xbox press conference will be televised this year:

The good news for some is that the Vita should have a stream for the Sony show but still. This is pretty shitty.

I don't think either of them are getting many third party exclusives. We shall see.

There will be some, maybe Sony gets Persona 5, maybe MS get BG&E2, etc, but I think people are expecting megaton after megaton, and it's not going to happen.

In the press release topic, Spike only mentioned the MS and EA conference. Sony's is during East Coast prime time TV hours, so I doubt they'd show it.

Is this really a big deal? Being from Europe I wouldn't really know if SpikeTV has much a following. But I would have thought that anyone who cared enough to watch E3 would likely be streaming it anyway.

Man this sucks, I like so see all of the new games on the TV instead of on a stream.
