I remember this scene gave me chills when I first saw it.

I don't know why you guys keep bringing up Zeal; he had nothing.

And GG is making a new IP - they have more than one team you know.

hmmm...so he was wrong about them showing GG's new IP.

And he said "I think this developer is a bit of a joke" in relation to square....and just now said that he cant wait to see people's reactions....so I'm assuming the game isn't impressive?

Square have been a laughing stock in this current gen so I understand why he thinks they're a joke.

he wasn't wrong, he said GG would reveal a new IP in a, "few months" not weeks. They said they are developing a new IP and the word on the net is, they might reveal at E3 or Gamescom.

Exactly. The last 6 years have been an absolute joke looking back their output.

I remember the good days when they released a FF numbered title ever couple of years with several other games released in between. The have no excuses anymore with the hardware they are dealing with and how easy it is to develop for.

A lot of the talent has left the building. They will never be as good as they were during the PSX days. They need to drop the smartphone bullshit and start looking into hiring new talent.

I don't know why...even though Square has disappointed me severely this generation. I have not completed a single game from them this generation and have found their output to be pathetic. I didn't even finish any of the games from their Eidos acquisition. I think the last Square Enix game I finished (and enjoyed) was Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

But for some reason, EVERY year, every single year, as long as there are rumors about what Square might show at one of the big 3 conventions, I get a little excited and hopeful.

Square is a company in which I've had fond memories of, and will always hope..that they reach a semblance of their former self somehow...even if they disappoint me time and time and time again.

Please bring it, Square.

That's what I loved about the PS1 era...

They revealed a slew of FF titles all at once, and they got released every 2-3 years.

Square needs to quit wasting time with spinoff and MMO garbage and make a mainline FF game that's different every 2-3 years.

They need to assemble megateams like Ubisoft does with Assassin's Creed in order to handle the quality & schedule requirements.

They are such a poorly managed studio.

You know, I think that was the plan until they had to fix XIV... then things went to hell and we had a slew of mobile/ports along with the XIII-sequels for the last few years.

Pretty much. FFXIV sunk the company productivity and pulled people from the stuff they were originally working on. This is why we've got XIII sequels and handheld titles for the past few years - they are cheaper and faster to make.

But Square recognised the problems and even stated they want to move towards yearly iterations and whatnot, so fingers crossed we go back to the PSX era of release momentum.

Indeed, XIV really screwed them but at the end of the day it's their own fault for going ahead with a game that was a colossal mess. Project Rapture should have been canned before the E3 announcement. Damn you Wada :(

Yep, I pretty much blame the failure of XIV for a lot of SE's problems this generation. It'd be interesting to see where SE would be today if XIV had launched in the state ARR is going to be now.

man, I need some leaked screens or video of some more ps4 games.

or even a leaked picture of the console.

I need something before e3, Im not sure I can take the last 9 days rewatching old trailers.

To this day...it amazes me that Square released FFXIV at the state that it was originally in. It BAFFLES me. It shows how insular their corporate culture and development culture must have been.

If SE had released XIV at the ARR state, it probably would have been released...@ the same time ARR is being released now.

Has square gone on record about any plans to abandon major support of new MMOs?

I really don't want them to waste anymore time with that garbage, it's clearly not a core competency of theirs

My first E3 as a gaf member I hope gaf servers can handle one more user.

Sony needs to show TLG AND announce a release date

please.....
