I'm wondering if Wind Waker HD will have Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks remade in HD, and then maybe they could call it The Hero of the Winds HD collection, or something that sounds better. That or somehow make Linebeck have a cameo in WW.

lololololol

I don't think so but that would be cool, I guess.

Bryan Walker, that clever guy, being a double agent ALL ALONG!!! :O Sneak into another company, kidnap them Nintendo Ninja style and bring them back to Retro, GENIUS!

But WTF is Intific anyway? Saw their site, I think some sort of engineering company?

How many from Junction Point did they hire? I was always hoping Paul Weaver would jump to Retro, being a higher-up from Rare back in the day. :(
Intific seems to be DARPA funded, focussing on military simulations with a strong neuroscientific slant. And i dont't remember how many Junction Point guys went to Retro. Around five I think?

Nintendo is such a wild card, they could be announcing all these projects at E3 or hold some of them for the late June, August and October Directs.

I strongly believe that Monster Games has some kind of racer in the works and that NST also isn't doing nothing right now and that Arika has been hard at work adapting Endless Ocean for the GamePad and Headstrong just has to be making Battalion Wars with a deeper strategy element. But those would be almost TOO many games for even the next 12 months probably. So much potential!

I'm loving these Gaf, keep them coming.

Didn't Next Level just finish Luigi's Mansion 2?
And while they have said they started on a new game.. wasn't under the impression was big enough to have a game far along in development to show.

HeadStrong was QA testing at the start of the year I believe.. let me see

Saw this on twitter not sure who accurate

I thought Next Level were working on a game until Nintendo told them to stop because they are now working on Luigi's Mansion?

From a Official Nintendo Magazine interview with Intelligent Systems about the differences between Advance Wars and Fire Emblem via Siliconera, we got this little tidbit:

As for whether Intelligent Systems have any Advance Wars games in development, Maeda says: “Whether or not we have plans to bring out a new entry in the Advance Wars series is a secret.”

Wasn't that like.. 4 years ago?

And who knows if it was a Wii/Wii U game. They've done work on 360/PS3. Believe they did the Captain America game

Nintendo Direct thread? Nintendo Direct thread

GLORIOUS. I don't care that this isn't a definitive promise. I have been playing AWDS for the past few days. I've never beat it. I started a new campaign file and am already re-stuck exactly where i was before. For june: my backlog clearing will be AWDS and days of ruin.

Tha..wha..

..well, if it happens - I'll be brutally surprised.

the most curious part about startropics is the fact that such an obviously false rumor like that would get created. startropics had actually become one of the popular choices around many websites for what new franchise people want to return. it is always curious how odd games like that begin to enter into the mindset of the consumer mob, almost as if nintendo marketers planted the seed

I'm literally about to chew my own fucking arm off here...I've been speculating what Retro is or is not working on for nearly 2 years. I was expecting it to be at E3 last year with absolute certainty, only to be crushed...It HAS to be there this year.

Even if its not a new Metroid, I can't wait to see what they have coming...along with a new Metroid by Nintendo or someone else, since I feel that Miiverse thing is pretty concrete at this point, I hope...

I suppose out of all the big franchises that haven't seen action for awhile (Metroid, F-Zero, Star Fox), I expect Metroid the most.

I think the biggest chance for surprises lies within more collabs like Platinum and Sega. Since they were even overwhelmed by the Pikmin development apparently and had to get staff from other teams to help out there, I don't expect a steady flow of full fledged (non minigame) 1st party software in the vein of the 3DS or Wii anytime soon.

I'll gladly be wrong. Didn't happen to my pessimistic expectations since last year's E3 though, in fact it turned out much worse, so I can not give any trust to Iwata anymore :(

I hope your wrong too, so I can laugh in your face!!!

Nah I wanna see you happy

Yeah, this is my hope too. I want a new metroid from somebody. Anybody. And I want it to be a real metroid with a non-linear design and a focus on exploration/upgrades.

I don't care if it is exactly like Metroid prime or not (though I love Primes 1 and 2 with an absolute vengeance)...

I wouldn't mind a 3rd person Metroid built as more of a Platformer/shooter, maybe with basic play mechanics along the lines of Ratchet and Clank or something. But I don't especially want another 2D metroid. They'll never make one that can top Super Metroid for me, and I'm fine with those staying mostly on handhelds. I want to see the series continue to advance in 3D.

It wouldn't surprise me if they've lent Metroid to some 3rd party developer... Hell, maybe Capcom? Also i was thinking maybe NST might be working on Metroid.

I'm in the exact same boat, last year was awful...so awful that I've kept my hopes real low.
Retro have the potential to make the system seller for a lot of people and the skills to make the hardware shine(spark). I mean, how good does MP3 look on dolphin? that alone hypes me violently.

Is it possible that the success of Awakening is resurrecting Advance Wars?

I'd wager that Nintendo will only show 50-70% of their E3 games during the actual Direct. Does anyone know if they're still doing developer roundtable type events this year?

Reinforcements have arrived. First post on gaf. Got verification right on time before E3. I am getting E3 ND for my birthday!

Nooooo keep this shit out of this thread, it locked the other one.

No that wasn't what killed the other one. Faking PMs was what killed that.

Nice!

Just make sure you don't go too crazy and end up on the early chopping block during all the frenzy :)
