I'm so close to preordering on right now, but I love my blue 3DS XL and I'm worried the white color on the shoulder buttons will yellow over time. My old white DS lite turned nasty despite me excessively cleaning it every month or two.

Both really. I used to be have an OCD with cleaning my hands constantly and the shoulder buttons still turned yellow despite the fact I cleaned the buttons every month or two. I've only ever had Nintendo hardware turn yellow too (mostly their white analog sticks on nunchucks and white shoulder buttons on handhelds). I really want to get the AC 3DS since I have an AC collection (all games sealed + a few AC accessories), but I'm too worried it'll end up nasty by the end of the gen.

My heart was set on "Holodrum" way before Oracle of Seasons got re-released on the e-shop. Actually I was thinking about changing it to something else, but replaying the Oracle games these last few days comforted me in my decision to name it that way.

But was deciding between that and the Animal Crossing one. I personally love the white/pop tart look. But I also am afraid of it yellowing now that it's been brought up. I guess the white/pink 3D's had this issue already.

I still don't understand the online. So if I enter some of your friend codes on my 3ds, I can go and visit your village in real time? Like, I can visit, and you are playing at the same time, I will see you running around doing stuff? And if I visit when you are away and chop down all trees, they will stay like that when you return? I'm just trying to get a sense for how this works.

When those came out my girlfriend saw a picture on her facebook that the nearby naval base had like 20-30 sent to them. She was pretty jealous about that, since everywhere else only got like 2-3.

Okay... there's a best friend (up to 32 friends) feature that'll be allowed in your town anytime. I'm not sure if you have to be online or not (I'd assume so). What they do is go to the train station and ask to go visit somewhere. Conductor (FearMyWrench's avatar) will show you a list of friends' towns that are available. In this list, it'll show AC character names and Town names. Which is why these two lists on the spreadsheet is important for identity purposes.
It'll take a few seconds and they'll come through the station. You can instant message with them while in town.

And if you see them doing up to no good, you can simply turn your wifi switch off immediately and you'll revert back to your save before that person had entered your town.
