Frey isn't really any worse than Robb. Robb behaeded his own banner men because they were upset about his mother letting go the fugitive that killed his entire family line. He even killed the men that were just following the orders of their lord and didn't even participate, because they broke their oath and disobeyed him. What Robb did was even worse--he promised to make one of Frey's daughters a queen in return for support in a war they were outmatched in and losing and ends up breaking that vow to marry so random commoner he just met. He was just held to the same standard he holds everyone else to--if Frey is a bad so was Robb so it's all a wash anyway.

Lost in all of this is the fact that dumbass Jon Snow left when his brothers Direwolves were right there, and only whats his face and his girlfriend remained. Maybe there were more wildlings left and he's trying to lead them away from his brothers, that's the only thing that makes sense in my mind.
Jon doesn't seem that clever as portrayed in the show. In fact, has he ever shown a glimmer of real intelligence?

What the fuck. What an upsetting ending.

Fuck I'm sadistic myself. I've just rewinded and rewatching the whole scene like 4 times now. Such great acting by Michelle Fairley as cat. She knew it all the time. Begs Robb to leave if he can, only to see Roose stab him in the heart and say the Lannisters send their regards. Then as she screams and watches the life leave her son, gets her own throat slit. Fuck man, just brutal. Going to be dreaming about this all night and thinking about it all week.

She was already gone. When once she slit the Fray girl's throat, that was it. It was like you saw the life leave her body. "Killing" her just made it official.

I'm talking with some friends about it now. I'm still trying to take it all in before I rewatch.

I knew this was coming as I have read the book. Still pisses me off. That being said I love that anyone can die. It's that reason alone as to why I continue to read the books and watch the show.

At least she took one out with her. God damn. This has got to be the most brutal show ever.

As a tactician, yes, but mostly indirectly. It was stated a number of times that Robb won almost every individual battle, and that it was even more impressive he did so at such a young age. It's his strategic insight - the long game - that was deeply lacking.
What? I was asking about Jon. Poster I replied to was saying he might have been leading the Wildlings away from his brothers...

Ah, ok. :)

Are we really going to have a Frey defense force here? Look at the way he coldly tells Cat, go ahead I'll find another wife. This is not an honorable man.

But fuck that smug look on Roose's face. I have it paused right now as I'm writing this and it sickens me to the stomach the way he smiles when Cat finds out what is going to happen.

Also, I'm glad they didn't show Grey Wind dying. His cries were enough. I just hugged my dog again, might give my mom's a call later, see how she's doing after seeing Cat watch her son die.

Am I the only one who thought the last scene (with Cat slitting the wife's throat and getting her throat slit) looked really dumb?

Also the fight scene with Dario was so stupid looking, too much choreography.

Did that guy turn into a hawk? What was up with that

Was he even King of the North when he promised to marry one of them?

Not that I can recall.

Kind of surprised by how angry people are. Imagine what it was like to read this episode for the first time. Talk about painful way worse than the episode.

I would like to point out that the part where Jorah and them successfully return was extremely corny. There was no point for him to make some kind of face of horror to make us think Daario was dead. The whole scene was stressing really hard to create suspense when there wasn't any, it was weird.

Also, again with Dany just being given shit. Did 3 people really just take a city for her?

It was supposed to hint at his death, but once he showed up, on retrospect it seems Jorah was slightly jealous? I think he expected more from Dany, but she was just like "where is he?", which honestly sounds soap operaish I know, but meh, who knows? It also seems normal for Dany to wonder where he is, but sometimes you can't make sense of jealous people (Jorah)!

Yeah I read Jon as Robb, since the latter's intelligence is often discounted.

Jon is basically portrayed as a clumsy oaf for the most part. Wouldn't surprise me if he becomes the savior of all, given how paradoxical the story is about these things.

You're not alone. It looked really odd. Cat's throat cut looked way better.

Fight scene with Dario was ok, not complaining since we haven't gotten too much of it this season.

The hawk was that Warg's buddy or whatever, the bird was pissed that John killed him.

Oh man...I've been hearing about a "Red Wedding" for a long time now from people who read the books but somehow I always imagined it was about the king's wedding or Sensa's so I was still surprised in the end.

Yeah, I've heard vaguely about the "Red Wedding" since season 1 started.

Mostly just stuff like "hope the series last's long enough until the Red Wedding"

I've always assumed it would somehow involve Joffery.

The writers of this show must be the most pessimistic, misanthropic cunts to walk the Earth. I love this show, but Jesus Christ the good guys can never catch a goddamn break.

The Hawk WAS the guy John was killing.

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
The hound with that foreshadowing.... Poor Arya. :/

Agreed, I was thinking the same exact thing during that portion of the episode.

Welp, I knew something was up when I landed from my flight and half of Facebook was saying "what the fuck thrones!!"

I just wasn't expecting that.

Good thing Ive been off team Robb for awhile. I guess this means joffery and balon are next. Stannis put the leech curse on them too.

I remember I promised myself to not become too invested with the characters after Ned died.

I worried all second season that Tyrion was going to die and then with the Blackwater battle I thought it came true but he survived. I let my guard down...never again!

...I know I'll end up falling for this again.

The guy "warged" into the hawk when Jon put the sword through him

I don't even know what to say to what I just saw.

That was devastating. I really began to love these characters ...and they take them away like that. Who the hell are they going to replace them with? What the fuck man. I feel so sad now. And they made Jon Snow into an asshole too, why did he just leave like that.

And Arya's vengeance is postponed yet again. The thought of her never being able to meet her family again too is the worst.

And the one character, the one storyline that I hate with all my guts, with intense passion, Danerys, ends up succeeding and having her stupid fucking shitty way with her stupid fucking simps following her around and her stupid fucking slave army doing dirty work while she eats grapes on a throne. This hurts comrades, what the hell are they going to do in the finale? Twist the dagger even more somehow?

Book readers. Seriously. Discuss books in the other thread. Don't say 'plenty of good stuff to come!'. Don't talk about how much better/worse/more horrible the scene was in the books. The books don't exist in this thread. Take it to the other thread.

Some of you are doing it right, a lot of you aren't.

Just finished the episode and quoting for another page.

Seriously guys. Stahp. STAHP and go to our thread and leave this be.

I thought something was spoiled for me a little while ago in this thread. Somebody forgot Robb's wife's name and googled it, but posted a completely different name in here. I figured either the speculation was true that Talisa was a spy, or that she was going to die and Robb was going to marry someone new. I guess that isn't happening.

God just thinking about Arya. Knowing her luck she'll just end up only reuniting with Rickon. :(
