Game of Thrones *NO BOOK SPOILERS* |OT| Season 3 - Sundays on HBO [Read the OP]

Damn this episode was brutal, probably worse than the Ned one. I kind of through one of Rob or his wife were going to die because of the horror movie like build up earlier with the baby and everything but I never expected this! Not both of them and Cat and not in this way. Cat killed that girl and didn't even fucking care, she was already dead inside before having her throat slit.

This gif pretty much sums up my feelings on the episode...

It says no book spoilers. Of which I didn't present a single one, or a hint of any. I joked about there being more story given there are three and a half more books to go but that's it. All I did was ask where the episode ended, something of interest to me as a book reader.

As I said, sorry *shrug*

There's two OTHER threads for you to posit your queries. So, why this one? Don't be surprised by the reactions.

And this:
The next bright star to bring up the books in here is getting punted for a good long while.

There are 2 other threads where could have asked your question. Just avoid any talk of the books in this thread. There are other threads for a reason.

And I shall do so from now on, meant no harm and gave absolutely no book information.

Edit
The other thread is ALSO about the TV show - Game of Thrones *Tagged Book Spoilers, Please Read OP* |OT| Season 3 - Sundays on HBO

Really didn't notice this one, thanks for the link and really didn't mean to offend anyone.

All in gonna say is :LOOOOOOOOOL

As someone who has read the books and just sat and waited for this to happen on the TV show, it's finally glorious to see the reactions.

It's nice to be free now though haha.

The dagger was made of dragon scale (or was it teeth?) and was thousands of years old, like a relic. There probably won't be many of them

Unfortunately the show didn't remind me of that when it happened (didn't he find that dragon glass like a season ago?), so when he did stab the guy I also had the feeling of "oh, that's it? Not much of a threat are they if they?"

I had to look it up online to be reminded that the dagger was special. They could have had a 10 second conversation where the chick goes, "how'd you do that?" and Sam goes, "Dragon glass... I think."

If you think it was hard watching it, try reading it. I had to actually pause, flick the page back and read it again before just saying "fuck", closing the book and just going into stasis.

It's nice to be free now though haha.

Oh my god.

I'm weak

The one thing about this show is that the Starks all make some critical errors that have absolutely disastrous results. Its not like they aren't somewhat obvious mistakes when they are making them (like Ned threatening the queen but not just killing her or Rob not choosing to deal with the murder of the Lanister boys after the war was over), but they always make them in the "name of honor" and in GoT - this world just shits on honor. Everyone who fights honorably dies horribly (harkens back to the fight with the fully armored knight in the Erie).

Its like the author keep hammering home the message - if you're in a fight to the death, honor is a luxury you really don't have and let me show you how stupid you are for following it.
Yep, you get it.

And this:

I am surprised by the reactions in that all I did was mention I've read the books. Had no clue there was an exclusion zone, and didn't notice the other thread for the tv show. I know of it now.

In any case, I can understand the fear of spoilers. Ciao.

I'm sure there will be more "AMG WHAT THE FUCK" parts in the series that book readers will be completely insufferable leading up to it.

GRRM shits on idealism in these stories. It's all about the coldly pragmatic.

Dany's three dragons, for example - from a practical standpoint, they're devastating, or at least potentially so. You can bring all the honor, political deviousness, and whatever other nebulous intangibles you want, and those dragons will still roast you inside of your own armor and terrify the shit out of half of your army. Possibly something Tywin wants to keep in mind.

Oh my god.

I don't post in this thread. I've never spoilt anything or pretended not to know etc like some have.

I've merely come in and said I've enjoyedthe reaction as to what you've watched. I don't believe this is actually a book spoiler. Like I said, I don't actively post in the threads, I just thought I'd comment on what I saw and share how I felt too.

The scene with Sam was really sweet and I loved the way she phrased that. "You can learn all that by staring at marks on paper? You're like....a wizard". LOL

If you think about it, it's kind of amazing that marks on a page can transmit things to your brain. Doesn't matter who wrote them or when.

I don't even care anymore. #TeamIDGAF... I can't stop thinking about the wedding and the repercussions.

I don't know why, but Catelyn's death hit me the hardest after. Just thinking about it. It's all i can think of. Think about Bran, Arya, Rickon etc.

When she cried for her own father and how she'd wait and how her kids probably waited for her as she took off.

Just the finality of it all. Robb is gone. Catelyn is gone. The Stark/Lannister war is primarily over. Who knows maybe Arya, Bran will one day get revenge, but for the foreseeable future, the Lannisters have won and we have to live with it, just like we did when Ned died. But we could rally around Robb, the King in the North, but he turned out to be Robb, the King who lost the North.

Two weeks waiting for this, thinking about it being some huge Blackwater type episode, turned to almost heartbreak and a punch in the gut.

That's what I mean! The way she phrased it made me stop and think about it for a second and realize that to someone who doesn't understand what writing is it must seem mystical that you can convey information that way.

Lol there is no way I'm getting any work done tonight like I planned.

I feel so silly letting a TV show affect me like this.

You know you done fucked up, right?

Seriously, as a warning to book folk who missed it the first time, it really is best you chill and just hang in the other thread.

Got to hand it to Cat, she tried. Took the wife hostage, did the whole ''I swear on my honor we will not reciprocate' thing. She literally begged for her sons life.

It's like a time capsule not just for knowledge but experiences too. Pretty cool to think about the written word that way.

I broke my vows with House Frey and married a foreigner and all I got were these lousy arrows stuck in my chest, a sword through my heart, my mother having her throat slit...

What killed me was when they were hiding under the tables sharing looks. Not that I really expected them to get away, but normally that conveys a measure of safety of some sort for the characters. They subverted that like a motherfucker.

Let this be a final warning book readers. While we may be kin, Book Reader and Show Watcher, you will bend the knee to us in this thread or the mods will destroy you.

But in all seriousness, I know you guys want to revel in our tears because it reminds you of how you felt, please lay off the spoilers. We're having a tough enough time as it is.

How did they spoil the book by asking where the episode ended? Calm down its like a inactive volcano in here. Nothing has happened but people think something just did.

how about no one gives a shit in here? Show watchers dont want to know or care. If thats the case just please FOR THE LOVE take it to the other 3 dedicated book threads and leave this one alone. This happens every week.
