We should shop "book readers" over Robb Stark and friends and then bish over the crossbow guys upstairs to show em what for!

Oh, no, I can say that House Lannister is fucking terrible without any distinction whatsoever.

I know it goes much, much deeper than that, but they're still fucking terrible.

You know you done fucked up, right?

Seriously, as a warning to book folk who missed it the first time, it really is best you chill and just hang in the other thread.

What are you talking about? I've read the books, but I'm also super sensitive to not spoiling one god damn thing to anyone who wants to straight up watch the show. Just because a handful of dumbasses have spoiled things in here doesn't make everyone else who has read the books some sort of criminal. I still have the right to come in here and discuss show events if I want to. I think it's a crime for anyone to spoil any one small thing to you guys in here, and I genuinely feel bad for anyone who has been spoiled. But for Christ's sakes, don't make me or anyone else out to be some sort of evil menace whose only goal is to ruin your enjoyment of the show. That couldn't be farther from the truth. I also deserve to post in this thread just as much as anyone else in here. It's still fun to post gifs or funny pictures or just simply discuss who is hotter: Oona or Emilia. Hell, I bet most of the people who spoil others are simply people who haven't even read the books and simply just look it up on a wiki.

What you guys probably need in here are more people who have read the books that can moderate and ban the morons who do actually post spoilers.

We've got a cross-thread war brewing between the book readers and show watchers. Everyone, man your stations.

Gonna go make a phone call to the Lord of Light, brb.

Oh come on its not some exclusive club where certain people arent allowed. What people say should be moderated not who can even enter.

No book mentions EVER should be the title its not about book readers as a whole. Just dont want to hear about it and neither do the rest of us

You have no right to say that.

Too often have book readers, or just people who haven't read the thread title/rules, come in here and post spoilers or ask spoiler questions.

There has to be a division.

10/10.

Bran, Rickon, Arya, Sansa. The Stark family is getting very small.
Apart from Arya I don't really care about any of them either. That entire family is now dead to me.

I haven't decided whether to migrate over to Team Dany or Team Stannis yet. Dany is pretty BA and has the highest probability of burning Casterly Rock, King's Landing, and the Twins to the ground, so I'm leaning that way. Then again, given her family's track record and my fragile emotional state...

You forgot Jon. And also essentially Sansa is no longer a Stark in a sense. Don't see much story for her in all honesty. Maybe she'll redeem herself, but in have a feeling since she's now Lady Lannister, she'll come to love Tyrion or something.

Basically it boils down to Jon and three kids who carry the Stark name/hopes going forward. I have a feeling quiet little Rickon will be the best Stark in the end. But who knows. Anything is game in GRRM's world apparently.

Shouldn't have wasted that wish leech on Balon Greyjoy and should've used it on book readers.

He doesn't have the right to state his opinion? Oh ok....eyeroll

Oh come on its not some exclusive club where certain people arent allowed. What people say should be moderated not who can even enter.

There are people calling for bans for people who simply mention they have read the books without saying anything spoilerish at all. Its kinda silly.

A couple of people got banned just for mentioning they'd read the books, without spoiling a single thing. A thread title update is definitely warranted if that's going to continue happening.

Where is the line drawn, anyway? If someone has read the first book are they allowed to mention that? What if they've read up to the point of the show, but no further?

The one thing about this show is that the Starks all make some critical errors that have absolutely disastrous results. Its not like they aren't somewhat obvious mistakes when they are making them (like Ned threatening the queen but not just killing her or Rob not choosing to deal with the murder of the Lanister boys after the war was over), but they always make them in the "name of honor" and in GoT - this world just shits on honor. Everyone who fights honorably dies horribly (harkens back to the fight with the fully armored knight in the Erie).

Its like the author keep hammering home the message - if you're in a fight to the death, honor is a luxury you really don't have and let me show you how stupid you are for following it.

I think that's not really it. I think that the Starks TRY to be all honor and shit but at the end of the day their "great mistakes" are made from their selfish or misguided decisions.

Ned fucked up but he was super-honor (outside of cheating on his wife and something else I forgot)
Mother wants to be seen as super-honor but she shits all over Jon. In her own words she thinks this is al the result of her going back on her deal with the god/s.
Rob, not nearly as super-honor as Ned (Ned didn't do the bedding shit but Rob's all "It's tradition! :D") but still tries to be honorable. YET his great down fall? Breaking his promise and wifing a random pretty lady instead of owning up to his vows to this man he used.

Sure, you can't be 100% honorable in these games ... but D is doing pretty well with her morals.

Pretend like they don't exist. It's really simple.

That's a bit far. They're fans like us, probably bigger ones since they also read the book. How about these recent banning just serve as a warning not to spoil things? There's a lot of good book readers who come here and shoot the shit with us.

A little more due diligence on their part is all that's really necessary. Just as yourselves did this happen in the show or in the book and if you can't picture the show, don't post it.

There is no coming back from this. Once that line is crossed...

Just watched the episode and hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooly crap! I mean... Good god I did not expect that. For the first time ever, a TV show literally made my jaw drop. This show is just.... wow. It's ruthless. I mean I should have known after Ned's death that no one on the show is truly safe but.... wow.

Whhhy Martin wwhhhyyy?!?! :( It's not that it happened, it's the way that it happened. How can you not feel bad for Arya. I don't understand how GRRM can do that to such a sweet character. I'm crying.

This series summarized so far: Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. (ie Starks)

The mod should change his avatar to Ilyn Payne and just quote the people he bans without saying anything.

Had I known this episode was coming I'd have gotten shitfaced before hand so that I wasn't thinking clearly. That way I could've drowned my sorrows. It's been nearly 6 hours since I watched it and I'm still posting here.

I didn't forsee Rob Stark succeeding in taking Casterly Rock as the season is almost over and didn't forsee another big battle happening at the end like season 2. Also, Lord Bolton was a traitor and would/had told Tywin about Stark's plans.

But very shocking to have everyone killed in that manner by that weasel Frey.
Who is going to be able to challenge the Lannisters now, other than Targaryen. But how much longer is it going to take her to get to Westeros.

Arya is pretty much going to come out of this more fucked up than Joffery.

the books do not exist in here. How is that hard to understand? Read the rules in the OP its clear enough what not to do.

My case of insomnia just got a whole lot worse. I can't stop thinking about this episode. I've never been depressed over an event in a show before...until tonight. :(

Pretend like they don't exist. It's really simple.

Easy enough, but it should be clarified in the title then. It's not just "no spoilers", it's "pretend the books don't exist and don't mention them at all, even the older ones the show has already covered"

Sure they do, they're mentioned plenty in the OP. The OP doesn't say you can't mention "oh I've read the books". It just says this:

- For the book readers that want to lurk in this thread:
No taunting or teasing:
e.g. "Oh, just wait until you guys see what happens to him next week!!!"
No leading questions:
e.g. "What do you think will happen to this character by the end of the season?"
No comparing the book to the show:
e.g. "Well, that's different than in the book where they..."
Answering questions is fine when the information is readily available from what has aired on the show.
e.g. Q: "Wait, how is Robb related to Ned?" A: "Robb is Ned's son."

I'd like to nominate Oona Chaplin for worst death scene this side of
Marion Cotillard
in TDKR.

You'd swear she had just had ice water dumped on her.

This is pretty much how these threads have been treated since season 1.

A humble request to the mods. Maybe change the title from "Game of Thrones *NO BOOK SPOILERS*" to "Game of Thrones *NO BOOK READERS/SPOILERS*

We should shop "book readers" over Robb Stark and friends and then bish over the crossbow guys upstairs to show em what for!

No. Stop being a bunch of whining babies. This forum is not about segregation. Having a thread where there are specifically no book spoiler discussions is a luxury. Moderation has been fair, and a few dicks who like to be annoying doesn't make everyone who has read the books unwelcome in this thread. Don't try to beat your war drums just because a few people have been banned. Cut the drama, take a cold shower, and go lie down and relax.

Book readers are welcome in this thread as long as they follow the rules. Lots of friendly book readers want nothing more than to discuss the show with people who are watching stuff for the first time. No need to be a dick about it. If book readers are dicks about it, they get banned. This isn't some war between threads.

Understood?
