Fuck man why...why... :(

Kill the lannisters, kill frey, kill bolton, kill everyone.

Jon snow you have to do this. If they kill off Jon Snow I will legit punch a whole in the wall. I think it is time I start reading the books.

I wasn't the least bit sad to see Catelyn die, fuck that bitch. #TeamSnow Robb on the other hand... sad to see him die but he was too much like his father. When push came to shove, both failed to make the smart "keeping-myself-alive" decision. That's Stark in a nutshell, making smart decisions until it counts, then they go dumbfuck right off a cliff.

Daenarys seems to be the opposite, make dumbfuck decisions all day until it actually counts. :P

Sorry if I appeared to be singling you out. That wasn't my attention. I was just mainly referring to those in here with the sentiments of "if you read the books then you aren't allowed in here so GTFO!"

And yeah, it's even more amplified right now because of the big events in the show. I think Bish is emotionally compromised!

S'all good. Like I said, tension is pretty high, which is to be expected after some shit like the Red Wedding goes down. lol

Which direwolves are still alive and where are they?

Arya's wolf Nymeria escaped in Season 1, haven't seen her since.

Jon's wolf Ghost wandered off at the end of Season 2 and we haven't seen him since (I think).

Bran has his wolf (don't know the name).

Rickon has Shaggydog.

Sansa's wolf Lady was killed in place of Nymeria for attacking Joffrey in Season 1.

Though peoples' focus is no doubt elsewhere, I think I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the fight choreography in this series has gotten increasingly badass. The bits at Yunkai in this episode were great.

Glad to see the dickishness has calmed down. Finally got to watch.

I did want to say I bawled like a baby. You guys, I have no idea....Gah. I would have been even more wrecked not knowing this was coming. I just want to hug all of yall.

Which direwolves are still alive and where are they?

Jon's dire wolf is still alive I believe? But who knows with what happened at Castors.
Ayra's dire wolf is still alive but who knows where? (she ran off in like episode 2)
Bran and Rickon's dire wolves are still alive and with them.

All others are dead.

Which direwolves are still alive and where are they?

Greywind - KIA
Lady - KIA
Nymeria - MIA - Arya had to throw rocks at her to get her to run away (avoid being killed)
Summer - With Bran
Shaggydog - with Rickon
Ghost - Running back to the Wall after Jon told him to

Edit - should have known better to answer a question in a thread moving this fast.

This fight and the one with the Hound & Dondarrion were excellent.

You guys should rewatch the episode through HBO Go. The interactive features are pretty cool, including flashbacks with Robb and Cat.

For the direwolves question, it also notes that Bran and Rickon are the only ones who still have them.

After seeing the internets' reaction I have nearly decided not to read the books anymore. The drama is just fucking incredible. The reason I was reading the books and spoiling myself was I couldn't wait for a new season. But it seems that the drama from actually watching the show play out is as powerful if not more so! I'm so damn conflicted.

Well this sux. Seriously every likable person is killed in this series and all the assholes survive.

Fret not.
If this thing goes the course it evens out.

edit: spoiler tag to defend not fretting, no real spoiler there but I don't want to be a jerk by saying that...

I can't even sleep. It's been six hours and I can't stop thinking about it. I seriously want to use a bereavement day for work tomorrow I'm such a mess.

But dam Michelle Fairley knocked her scenes out of the park, and broke my heart a thousand times over in Cat's final scenes. The look on her face, as the doors closed and the Rains of Castamere started.....the realization setting in that something was terribly, terribly wrong. And then those final moments, as she saw Robb fall away in front of her, everything she thought she still had, gone. She died before the knife ever slit her throat.

And lastly, no music over the closing credits was an incredibly aware move on the part of the show's producers. Not only was it a respectful moment of silence, but they must have known that if they had played anything, it wouldn't have been heard over the screams and cries of all their fans hearts breaking anyway, so pffft why bother?

I assume this was posted, but I do it again since the reactions in this thread is glorious:

And when I read the fucking book I put it down, took a deep breath, and reread... and then put it down for a time.

"They'll be back soon. Robb will free father, and they'll come back with mother."
"No they won't"

FUCKING RICKON, WISE BEYOND HIS YEARS

THE NEXT KING IN THE NORTH

HOUSE STARK ISN'T OUT OF IT YET

for real. i have faith in him. plus out of all the kids (yes including jon snow) he was the most neglected by eddard stark. that means he has none of his dumbass teachings/flaws.

he'll be a stark in name only, and a badass.

I'm not even sure there are enough characters left that I like to continue watching the show at this point. If it were a movie then fine but I don't think I'm invested enough in anyone left to spend the next 7 years of my life watching this.

You'll be back, not like they aren't going to have new characters

Littlefinger is going to be enraged that Cat is dead

Just read the damn things

Robb and Cat weren't the most important characters for emotional investment. Well Cat got some purpose to her this season, but.. The meaty characters are still there.

I seriously hope Arya grows up to be an incredible figher and assassinates everyone. Just make the last episode of the series follow adult Arya as she visits each asshole character in the series and slices their head off one by one, starting with Walder, and I'll forget the whole thing. God that would be so cathartic.

What am I talking about, this show doesn't give a crap. They're probably going to kill Arya next week, and Tyrion too just for the heck of it. Man this show....

Just got around to watching it tonight. Managed to stay away from spoilers.

Great. Now I can't sleep. LOL

That final scene was pretty fantastic though. I hated to see it, but Cat's death scene, in retrospect was some serious badass drama.

Why does it matter how long it has been? This is not how spoilers work. Spoiling unrelated works is a dick move.

So are we supposed to spoiler [Star Wars]
Vader is Luke's father
still? I know that's a bigger stretch, but what is the accepted spoiler window on things? I always thought a year was the accepted time passage for this board. Anyone who is interested in TDKR enough that cares about not being spoiled should have already seen it imo haha. As soon as something is released on DVD it should be fair game in my opinion.

There are still plenty of likeable people around. It's just the most naively honorable who have kicked the bucket.

All I know is, the minute they kill my boy Varys, adios.
Varys is so underrated. I've always felt he's one of the best characters in GOT. A great personality, a fascinating persona. An almost literally perfect performance by Conleth Hill as far as I'm concerned.

Vader is Luke's Father is part of popular culture and has been for over 30 years.

I honestly can't imagine Littlefinger being distraught over this. He will maybe feel sadness, but only briefly. He doesn't strike me as a man who thinks with his heart or his emotions. He will continue to be calculated and cunning. It's how he's gotten this far to begin with. I can't even imagine what an enraged Littlefinger looks like, because he's just not the type.
