Something just struck me: Who remembers Disaster: Day of Crisis? I don't think it sold a lot, but part 2 could be happening. The reason why I think this is because the first title used the Wii Remote pretty well. Yes, it lacked some polish but still. "Disaster: Day of Crisis U" could make good use of the Wii U Gamepad. Let's say there is another disaster in the game:

- Scan for survivors with the Gamepad
- perform "little operations", apply first aid via the Gamepad

Stuff like this.

So not happening. Sold like shit and NoA didn't even bring it over. Monolith Soft has much better things to do.

After the tsunami/earthquake that hit Japan two years ago I believe Monolith shelved the series.

Too much to hope for a trauma centre game with skippable cutscenes (seriously, I just wanna do operations all day) I guess.

Monolith has a steady output, but I don't think they'd have enough time for this. They're already making X and that 3DS RPG right now and Project Cross Zone isn't too old either.

It's never been a series to begin with.

I doubt we'll see another one. Disaster wasn't well well-received and didn't sell a lot either, so I doubt that Nintendo would allow Monolith to spend precious resources on the development of a sequel.

I agree that it's unlikely that Monolith can make two HD games at the same time.

Mmm, I had a dream...

...a dream where the new title in development at Retro Studios is a Zelda spinoff, a new brand of Zelda, so Miyamoto was technically truthful when he said they weren't working on a Zelda title proper. It's a new subseries where the player controls Princess Zelda and her alter-ego, Sheik. A mix of stylish character action with powerful spell-casting (Zelda) and ninja shenanigans (Sheik), with abundant puzzle-solving, elements of stealth and parkour, and even light social sim sequences, as the princess mingles with aristocracy of Hyrule at various functions, including a festival with abundant sunshine that reminded me of BioShock Infinite's Columbia Raffle & Fair. As the acolytes of Ganon prepare his return, you'll amass an army with the gradual introduction of RTS mechanics, put to use in massive battles at the zenith of each act. The RTS elements aren't the primary focus, but your army's performance there will reflect the alliances you forge in the social sim segments and the characters you recruit in your adventures.

But it was just a dream. :-\

They gave out the teaser artwork for their 3DS game and it definitely isn't disaster

They didn't. The artwork you are referring to was used in a recruitment ad; nowhere was it implied that it's a concept art of the next game they're working on. Monolith has a history of using random artwork for recruitment ads that don't seem to be related to games actually in development.

It's not surprising either, since Honne is the kind of person who draws a lot of art. I can't say whether or not he draws in the picthing process or just for personal enjoyment, but I think you can find some RPG-ish art on his blog that don't belong to any game Monoilth has created.

Disaster x Trauma Center :)

What even is that?

Ah, first time I've seen the artwork. Looks interesting.

People are going to be severely disappointed with Mario Kart's graphics, think a couple of steps below Racing Transformed and that's what I'm sure we are getting.

Guess you are right...the MK Games never stood for outstanding graphics.

But we can dream for a while.

Guys.

Guys.

What if, what if that artwork isn't for Dream Team at all? What if they are making another Mario and Luigi for Wii U?! And that's why there's a M&L silhouette amongst the Wii U ones?!?!?!

They did both Wii U/3DS games at once for NSMB...:( they probably aren't cool enough to do that will M&L...

The site is for Nintendo's E3 coverage in general, not specifically the direct.

Mario Kart is probably the "new" title I'm least interested to see. I mean, I love MK7, but Mario Kart's Mario Kart, y'know what I mean? That being said, it could look really slick. Picture the plaza in Nintendo Land with all of its texture and bloom and shimmering shaders.

logo needs to be bigger imo, keep it up!
Thanks for the advice, will remember that for the next ones I do. Also thanks everyone else.

I kind of agree. i never really thought that any Mario kart as a graphical game but we should worry more about the gameplay mechanics of it. Personally not that interested in Mario Kart anyway, I blame Mario Kart Wii for that lol. Didn't like it as much as the others.

All they really need to do is keep it 60 frames, up the resolution, add a little more details and then go balls out crazy with art styles in the various stages! (Yoshi's Island stage, Yoshi's Story stage, Paper Mario stage, Super Paper Mario 2D->3D switch stage, Galaxy stage, etc..)

Well it'll be 60fps ..so it automatically has better graphics. :-P

..and I honestly wouldn't want the detail of Racing Transformed. I prefer the clarity of the Mario Kart tracks. More detail isn't always better...there's much to be said for clean tracks and racing lines.

I also think the game will be the first to use two gamepads (for 6 player games) so I would expect that to impact the detail as well.

In all honesty I'd be happy if it's a buffed up HD Mario Kart 7, with 6 players, new tracks .... and a track editor would be a killer feature for me (although a track editor has been a no brainer since the DS game..so sadly I'm not expecting it this time either).

A new DLC Cup every quarter would be very appealing.

I've clearly been out of the loop. Are these numbers based off some actual Nintendo media or did they all originate from this thread.

I fully expect 1 or 2 Capcom exclusives and maybe 1 from Namco due to the Smash Bros business relationship.

Also, would not be surprised with a bigger Platinum relationship due to the high costs of next gen development.

I don't expect any of that :-(

Some Capcom exclusives would be incredible. If they continue to support the Wii U I'd be so happy. I'm surprised they haven't dropped it like the Vita.

I think Mario Kart 7 on 3DS looks already amazing, so anything better than that and I'm gonna be happy.

More important than the graphics (If it ends up looking like the arcade version, I'd be totally ok with this) is the removal of the "BIKES" that were introduced in Mario Kart for Wii.
I just don't want to see bikes ever again in a Mario Kart game.

E3 should be interesting- I was expecting solid Japanese 3rd party support but after launched its dwindled to essentially nothing.

If there's gonna be any third-party stuff for the Wii U in the next year, it's gonna be from Japanese Third-Party. We won't get much from Western devs.
