Getting the review copy - just around 8 hours left to wait and I haven't even followed much of The Last of Us hype and I love Naughty Dog.

They don't look for those "moments". They are simply too lazy to properly describe why they feel the way they feel, and instead bring up classic and cherished moments in movies and literature in order to alleviate their prose without any effort. By design itself such extrapolation is bound to fail. But hyperbola also drives clicks and revenue, apart from publicity and recognition. Positives outweigh the negatives.

These aren't just "cherished moments," they're moments when film was legitimized as more than just entertainment and was viewed as a serious art form.

Wanting videogames to grow from scores and sprites and elevate to "art" is great. Saying "I understand the depth of Citizen Kane and what it did for cinema" and using that as a credibility card is laughable but I don't think that's what's happening here. The guy just wants to be quoted.

I simply do not agree. In many cases, this actually has the opposite of the desired effect.

If you enjoy the TV Show General Hospital, that's great, have fun, everyone has their own silly, campy fun. But if you not only enjoy General Hospital but try to convince people that it is is a serious work of dramatic fiction that has deep insights in to our society and culture, you won't be taken seriously.

FUUUUUUUUUUUU~ Are you people seriously gonna make me ask a third time for a countdown timer to be made? ;_;

If someone won't make one, can someone at least tell me how many hours are left from now till the reviews surface?

so games are only ever capable of being general hospital?

Seriously, I'm getting excited for The Last of Us and I have been on kind of a blackout (having not been too hyped) and I'm gonna play it through on the HMZ-T1. Now I'm getting hyped! 5 hours left!

Not quite, given the male focus. Pro-wrestling, that's practically soap opera for men.

Culdcept Saga

I can't see how anyone could buy the game and be disappointed. Which isn't to say that it is greatest game ever, but it was fairly easy to see what type of game it was. An awesome hybrid of Magic:the Gathering/tcg and Monopoly/board games.

For people who've played the demo, or just know general info..I have questions for you..since i'm on media blackout more or less.

1. Can you avoid confrontations with the human or zombie enemies? So for example, if you see 2 human enemies in a room, can you distract them and avoid the confrontation all together?

2. What differs between the varying difficulties levels? (so what sets apart easy from hard mode aside from the fact that enemies have more or less health in those particular modes)

3. Can you go a completely pacifist route, and not kill any human enemies in this game?

To answer your last question, I don't think you can. The sequence won't end and you can't progress until you kill everyone.

With increasing difficulty the game throws much less resources for crafting at you. So you have fewer bullets, health kits, item upgrades etc. Also in the demo on normal there is a metal pipe in the last area. It's not there on hard.

1. Definitely.

2. I'm not exactly sure (I only watched it).

3. If you engage in combat with human enemies, it seems extremely likely that you absolutely have to kill them. There seems to be a number of situations where it's impossible to progress without killing.

That's very cool.

Honestly, I was afraid that the only difference would be that the enemies would become bigger bullet sponges..which I fucking hate so much in most video games, just cheapens the whole concept of difficulty...but anyways, yeah, is it safe to assume that 1 shot to the chest/head is an automatic kill for the human enemies regardless if it's easy or hard?

Because I do want that sense of realism in there regardless of the difficulty I'm playing on.

There are seriously many game of the year contenders this year. Bioshock Infinite was one of the finest game experiences i have had for a long time. And i am almost sure that The Last of Us is going to top it, yes i believe the hype. And Grand theft Auto 5 is coming later this year. along with new system releases.

For the head sure.

Maybe 2 for the chest.

That is a Normal and Hard playthrough for me. Love to see little differences like that.

Impossible to say for now, but from the demo Hard gives you less resources in general, you take more damage, certain items are gone(there's a pipe present on normal that's no where to be seen on hard). I think the zombies do take more bullets, but melee attacks seemed to work the same. It's hard to test that for sure though.

Yeah I think the infected soak up more bullets so its best to melee them.

So I heard from reviewers/people who've played the full game, that the demo was not a good slice of the actual game...

Now my question is, was the demo taken straight from the game? Or was it sort of altered purposely to be a demo?

I'd be surprised if this wasn't the most polished game of the generation, given my time with the demo. Never seen so much care and attention go in to every polygon/pixel.

It was most likely taking from the game but with some alterations.

He already had a health kit when that women said we should go look for supplies.
