Probably meltdowns from a group that was neglected for quite a number of E3s, but will still make people happy overall.

If Sony managed to swing that somehow, even as a timed exclusive - it would be a very big deal. I don't really care if it's exclusive just announce that shit Rockstar.

And honestly, he said it was gonna be a good show, just not megaton after megaton, which makes sense. They have other venues to show off new titles at later in the year too, you know? Gotta spread out the goods.

I disagree. Part of the allure of FInal Fantasy, at least to me, is being engaged in a complex narrative, and watching it unravel with all of its intricacies. Final Fantasy hasn't really aimed for a simple narrative since the earlier SNES days. I'm not saying they always succeed in their execution, but when they do the results are pretty spectacular. I don't want them to turn it into a WRPG with a weak overarching plot, sacrificing narrative and character development for the sake of openness.
I also never understood the complaint about made up names in FFXIII. It's a Fantasy game. Every FF game, and pretty much every fantasy story in general has built their own worlds using new concepts and words to give the world its own unique life. Were the words fal'Cie and l'Cie just too much for people to handle?
Personally, I would love to see a new game that returns to the style of the PS1 FF games. I would also be happy with something in FFX's style as well -- which isn't too far off from FFXIII's style, except FFX was much better executed with more gameplay content and a more compelling narrative with a better script.
Nah just going into this with severely low expectations now. I'll expect FFXV but that's about it.

Imagine if one of the big three was going to commit suicide, so they blew every single megaton and any future announcements in one conference. Of course, all these games would never be released, because the company is going to die, but at the time, they made it presentable. This is the NeoGAF E3.
Does it matter? They'll be getting at least 8.0 TFLOPS of computing power from the cloud.

Rumour has it MS is going the apple route of having newer hardware every few years so it sort of makes sense they are low balling it now. If in 2 years when the Xbox One: Two is out and is 2x as powerful things will get interesting. People will be angry, some people will be happy. Will be interesting to see if console gaming can be done that way.
Oh there will be some fun times ahead this gen.

Is Thuaway reliable? If that's true then DAMN Xbone really can't catch a break.
I'm expecting alot of first party reveals and game demos. Destiny getting some good air time. Some 3rd party announcements and a few surprises. Keeping hype tempered. Sony has to show something for GC and TGS.
Question for you guys. When do you think we'll get a release date and price reveal?

Wouldn't that mean that any port from another lower powered system performs better on PS4?.. Or... Would that depend on the way the information processes through the PS4 vs the other system meaning, it would be case by case?

I realize the architectures are similar so it's easy for devs to make use of the extra power. Still though, won't the base assists be the same? It has to negatively affect the PS4 in some way, I think.

Yea, would probably perform better, but I don't think it would look as good as it could have, given the X1 wasn't downgraded. Of course, it's still a rumor.

This is still going to be the biggest E3 in years, announcement wise, that should be enough to keep you excited.
Personally if we get FFXV, Ready at Dawn's game, SSM new IP and a WW launch this year at a decent price ($400) that will be enough to make it a fantastic show in my eyes.

Thuway might be one of the most reliable insiders around. He leaked quite a lot of both consoles. He did have one and other missteps, but he's been mostly right.
Anyway, I'm kind of impressed. We've gone from a point where everyone thought that MS would have the most powerful console and we're now in a point where Sony's console is considerably much more powerful than MS'. Jesus.
It'll be a further extension of the current situation, a slight downclock isn't going to massively change the architecture of multiplatform games. It will make PS4 games run and look that much better though... the next Xbox might end up getting called the 720 by gamers for a whole new reason.
