Well were hopefully gonna find out more at E-3 in regards to the Kinect thingy having to be a travel companion with the One when ever you need to move it to a different room. Do they expect us to buy two!

Seriously though, I cant wait for E-3 to get some of these mysterys cleared up!

Just dropping this here because it may be relevant to some of you who are going to buy XBOX ONE.

I mean, that is thuway and all that, but I find it hard to believe. I mean, lower clocks are usually for heat, and I have a hard time believing that's a problem with that massive fan.

I remember when I bought my PS3 it came with Spider-Man 3. A Blu Ray movie.

PS3 was marketed as a Blu Ray player when it launched. The north remembers.

Meanwhile, I wonder how they will handle all the TV stuff.. I guess features like the Halo series will be behind the paywall, or perhaps a separate subscription from XBL Gold.

Not even stealthy.

Just curious. He is quoting thuway and all that. Just wondering if you've heard anything about this yourself. Curiosity n stuff.

Proelite commented on the GPU clocks in that thread. May as well just go there and read it rather than bring it all in here.

Wow you're an ass.

I don't know if you are setting up a question you already know the answer to, but Proelite said this in that thread:

I am not trying to bring out the MS Defense Force at me, but I've heard GPU clocks might be downgraded. 8-900 gigaflops for gaming. The APU is big. This isn't 100% confirmed though and is being done to improve yields.

CBoat do you mind adding anything?

Hmm, I've been hearing some of this myself. It'll be hilarious if MS tries to sell a more expensive gaming machine with 1/2 of the perf. Knowing people's buying habits, they still might beat Sony on the market though. :/

Take that for what it's worth. I don't know who either guys' sources are.

And thuway is probably correct. Regardless of specs, Xbone will likely have a large fan base ready to buy the box. Microsoft may make a lot of mistakes in hardware/software design of late, but they do a really good job of market research. They know who they are selling to, and what their goals are in the endgame.

This thread isn't about rumors at all?

How about that?

There are already threads apart from this one devoted to rumors.

Says who, though? Half this thread is dedicated to commenting on rumours and speculation already. A little late for that ship now, eh FordGTGuy lol?

Why can't you respect the fact that we don't want this thread littered with unconfirmed rumors?
Uh, no? Unless a moderator splits that thread or deems the rumor a thread derail -- there is absolutely no reason it can't be entertained. Dude, again, calm down.

You could throw this rumor into your aggregate thread.

They're all making an appearance now

Yeah FordGTGuy, I don't think there's a huge problem
though Takuya has been trolling lately
.

OT though. If this box can get me visuals like Halo 4 with better IQ and some 1080p and AA, then I'm good. Thing is, it looks like it will be able to accomplish that. Besides, Gameplay ftw!

As long as rumors are clearly marked as such, what's the problem with discussing them? NeoGAF readers are sophisticated enough to entertain and discuss rumors and speculation with the correct frame-of-mind. Don't underestimate the intelligence of your fellow posters.

Have you visited Xbox One threads lately???? 0_o for every intelligent post there are 5 lol kinect, TVTVTVTV blah blah posts.

Because we would rather this thread not dissolve into a console war because a couple Trolls want to hit and run over and over.

As some have mention seeing Dark Souls in that coverage teaser video is interesting. Might be worth MS tossing some money behind. Surely it wouldn't cost a lot to moneyhat some exclusive DLC or next gen port and it ticks the super hardcore and japan boxes. Maybe its something bigger and tied to the rumours of another Souls game at E3 that some think is Demons Souls 2 for Vita.

Just thinking out loud here.

Yes. I've visited them multiple times daily.

The responses to the product that you are referring to aren't invalid just because you don't like them or they seem to be repetitive. If anything, the responses you are objecting to are a direct response to a messaging choice Microsoft made when they debuted the product.

This is nothing new. Did you visit PS3 threads after that unveil? There were hundreds of "Five-Hundred-Ninety-Nine U.S. Dollars" posts, "giant enemy crab," "for massive damage" and "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaaacerrrrrrr!" posts. Yes, they were repetitive responses, but they were honest consumer/GAFer responses to the mistakes Sony made in pricing and the messaging of their conference.

When large companies fuck up their product or their messaging, NeoGAF isn't kind. As consumers, we have no obligation to be silent when they fuck up. Get used to it.

I'd rather they moneyhat for a great RPG and not Dark Souls 2.

I said it.

Microsoft didn't mess up their presentation, they did exactly what they said they were going to do. You can easily see this by going to the majornelson podcast before the reveal where Aaron said it himself.

Then PS4 = 1080p and Xbox One = 720p

I don't know what to think... :(

Just ignore these rumors until something is actually confirmed.

My hype is deflating, Takuya got what he wanted...

It is really hard to ignore it. I was "happy" not visiting that thread, but he brought the information here.

Well, it depends who you believe:

I'll help out. I can confirm for a fact that it's false. If I'm wrong, I'll take a ban. I can't say how I know this for sure, but I'm pretty damn sure.

Have you shared any info like this in the past? Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with your posts.

Nope, I don't speak nearly as often on here about what I know for certain on the new Xbox. In fact, I try not to be the subject of any leaks, because I'd more or less be betraying someone's trust, but in the case of this most recent thing about a downclock of the GPU, I literally begged permission to say definitively that it's absolutely not true.

The only thing that's true is that they are having a bit of a headache with the ESRAM. THAT is certainly true, but (all speculation after this) I think that's more down to the manufacturing difficulty of the ESRAM and yields, not actually using a finished and working version of the GPU for software related purposes.

That's great to hear :).

I am still hyped!!! As a non-PC gamer anything noticeably better than current gen is ok by me. Certainly I would prefer all the consoles shoot for ultra high end but sadly even Sony who looks to be going the farthest is not there. I just want new boxes with cool new experiences!!,

Well, it depends who you believe:
thuway has a mixed track record. The other guy seems convinced, though I have no idea who he is. It's amazing how much the GDDR5 gamble is paying off. ESRAM is also what some people suggest accounts for the CU disparity.

I agree, the big fan plus the fact there appears to be a huge amount of ventilation thanks to all those grills/vents. It should be good heat wise, and most likely no RRoD problems this time.

Then PS4 = 1080p and Xbox One = 720p

NOOOO! I can't take any more 720p! 1080p or nothing. Lower IQ and textures resolutions if you have to, just please no more 720p!

Yeah, it can't be heat. One person responded to a similar post I made and said it may be yields (like, they may have trouble getting the chips to consistently put out good perf.). That could be a reason, but now we have SenjutsuSage saying it's positively not. Well see I guess.

Oh god the notorious locked thread of bingo card filed with "confirmed One's games" keeps poping over my Facebook feed reposted by minor gaming websites lol and people go nuts over it's games lol.

Splosion man returns? Crackdown 3 now with punches through walls. Lets get this hype train back on track! Fable MMO back to the goodness that is Fable 1. :) I'm also ready for KI3.

Well, I think it's 1.6 billion transistors (quick guess), I haven't bothered to look it up or anything. So, no doubt without ESRAM you could have more CUs, but then you'd have a much too powerful GPU that has far more power than it has available bandwidth to properly utilize, and the last thing you want is a badly balanced GPU. For all the kicks in the ass that Microsoft are getting for going with the design that they have, they have an incredibly well balanced GPU that, if you compare to the most similar GPUs on the PC, can be said to have quite a bit more bandwidth than it necessarily needs.

So, under the scenarios that Microsoft were in, their choice was a much more powerful GPU whose power largely goes wasted because it doesn't have nearly enough bandwidth to feed all the execution resources, or they go for something a bit more conservative that they can much better supply with the bandwidth it needs, can ensure much greater efficiency from, and has really good, much more manageable TDP levels. I've said it before, but everybody is apparently going to be afraid of this system until they see some games that give them less of a reason to doubt the system's power, and I feel pretty strongly that we will see such games. Once people see those one or two games that gives them a favorable idea of what the system is capable of, pretty soon afterwards the power discussion will be for anyone still somehow interested in keeping score, but the games will command more of the attention.
