Or Dragon
's Dogma
Quest announced for Vita.

Hey Vitabro's, now that Paint Park got a nice FREE update to Paint Park Plus, maybe we should organize a paint contest? Something like 'paint your most wanted E3 megaton' or 'paint your favorite Vita game moment'?

You know you get the Vita version for free if you already own the PS3 version, right? And vice versa?

$14.99=two games, two sets of trophies, etc.

And?

what about those that dont have it yet? two copies of limbo still isnt worth 14.99, like a second set of trophies has monetary value

please

It appears I've broken Friend Network, I can't use the touch screen to tap any on screen buttons, it just doesn't register my touch.

Glad someone else noted the non-existent logic. Why should Vita owners retroactively subsidize the development of a two-year-old PS3 port?

Should've been $4.99 max.

So it is free in NA (and so it must be free in EU)? I'm glad they're smart enough to know this wouldn't work here. Still though, it's kinda sad that they have to pay for it in Japan.

Hopefully it's coming today in EU, that's something to look forward to.

Agreed. There is no excuse whatsoever for a game as old as Limbo and released on multiple platforms already.

I have the game on another account, so this cross-buy is useless when I use a different account mainly for vita games.

Not a bad idea, would be interesting to see what people come up with.

I'm no fan of Limbo off hand, but a slightly "expensive" sell... when the game is retroactively giving a 2nd copy of the game, on a new platform, to everyone that bought the PS3 version, isn't all that bad. Especially since many are saying it's an excellent port. It's not like these things are made for free.

So the cost of Cross-buy applied to old titles, is a 3 or 5 dollar increase to the release price of the new version? Doesn't sound that bad.

I wouldn't mind seeing this happen for PS4 releases of old PS3 download titles, either. Owners of the old version get the PS4 version added directly to their download list, new buyers pay 10.99 rather than the 5.99 early buyers paid. After a few months, the game either goes on sale, or is price cut for all new buyers.

Is it true God Eater Burst is free instead of that trash indie Orc game?

And what makes you think "Orc Attack" was trash? That odd 3D angle isn't my preference, but I was quite happy to see a beat 'em-up / Musou-like game coming to the service. Now we get a freebie that's kinda similar to the recently-released Soul Sacrifice, which doesn't do either of them any favors.

I just hope this inclusion of God Eater Burst is a way to drum up interest for God Eater 2 getting a western release. Already have Burst, would love to get in on 2.

The game is also insanely short. It was a nice enough game and the £3 I paid for it on steam was fair. £4.99 max for such a game if you ask me. Its not like the game is AMAZING. Its just a nice indie game with a few interesting ideas.

SAB CA: because DrinkBox and a few other S Tier indies are the only ones worth anyone's time in gaming. The majority of Indie games are boring and stale and most of all: crap.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves for giving into the mobile gaming stuff TBH. AAA games are what vita need. Also more JRPGs not that other stuff.

Well it's free but there is also a app called colors for 7$.

That's insanely expensive for a bunch of colours or whatever the hell that is 0_0 Nvm. I'll just wait and see what this update brings and what part of it is free before complaining if necessary XD

What if you have found most AAA games in recent years pretty damn boring and almost all games you loved were indie?

Fuck JRPGs, 'AAA' or otherwise. They're shite. Just play the ones that are already compatible since they're all the same anyway.

I dig the indie support.

Yo vitabros!

First post here. Hopefully i'll be helpful :-)

For EU plus'ers coconut dodge and rayman are now up on the vita store.

You mean all western AAA games? I wouldn't see a lie there :3

My point really is that dismissing indie as mostly crap is unfair. There are tons of great indie games. If you don't like many then sure but plenty of people do.

I just like good games. Don't care if they are indie or AAA. Just happens the AAA market is kinda all over the place lately. But that's mainly the publishers fault.

Anyway I completed Guacamelee last night. Was damn fun. Did a lot of side stuff but not all. really loved some of the crazy platforming bits (mainly secret sections) and the combat worked really well. Think I spent about 7 hours on it so far. Will prob go back and try to do more side bits at somepoint and possibly a hard run through.

Cant decide what to play next. I have to many games left incomplete.
Knits underground

This is for this week?

That's a bit dramatic; I probably spend more of my time playing independent / smaller publisher games now-a-days, than any AAA games. Quite a few of them offer the things I want in gaming, that bigger developers are turning their backs on.

So many 3A's are chock full with "check the boxes" bloat, falsely-"mature" content, and wide-reaching attempts to bridge the gaps between "hardcore" and "casual", that many of them end up being a shameful waste / overuse of resources. They probably could have funded more enjoyable, less big-budget games with the same funds, but instead they make large games that need to hit crazily over-ambitious sales targets, in order to be profitable.

But unfortunately, that's what a lot of this industry is becoming, so I do agree that it'd be nice to see some "AAA games" released for Vita. Things of that Budget and Name value would help the platform's mass-market image as a whole...

... but those things take time to make. In the mean time, I'm quite happy for all the indies we're getting. Not to mention my Memory Card is much happier being able to get multiple 100~300 meg games onto it, rather than a huge 3.4 Gig monsters that barely feels worth it's memory-value.

As far as JRPGs... is Japan even making them? Save for the PSP games, and things already announced like Atelier Meruru +, so much of the Japanese RPG output now falls SO strongly toward games that have very small markets outside of their own country.

In the end, however, I love the variety of content on Vita. It's doing very similar to how XBOX360 and XBLA do for me, starting a few years ago; it has solid, big-deal games that I can get lost in for when I have the time, right alongside quicker, instantly satisfying experiences that I can play, when I only have a few minutes to spare.

It's this ability to have games that fit all taste and times, that makes Vita a successful system for me. Hopefully, we get more added to the admittedly thinner "Big console release" nature of the system at E3.

But for now, hearing from companies too small to save announcement for E3 news-overload week is quite fine by me. And I always feel much happier for Indie developers, who get to shove their foot in many gamers doors through PS+ offerings, rather than seeing some big company threw their automatically-better-known games onto the service.

Nope. They're rubbish. Seems like all anyone ever asks for is JRPGs, and they're rubbish. All of 'em.

Don't worry Dave you will learn to love jrpgs :D

Cheers for the heads up, I completely forgot about Coconut Dodge.

Shouldn't Coconut Dodge have gone up later in the month though? Perhaps they're getting this month's content up ahead of E3, for some reason...?

Edit: Paint Park Plus is up now too.

Such a waste. That's like buying a cinema screen to watch daytime soaps.
There is no safe place on gaf. There are terrible posters everywhere. Next thing you know, Derrick will back shitting up the Steam thread. Even the Vita thread is poisoned.

Edit: wait, weren't you in the iOS thread? I haven't been active there in a while, but don't tell me an iOS bro has terrible taste

Anyway, any good titles I should pick up? I found an extra $30 in a pair of pants lol

Rayman Origins and Coconut Dodge are free on PS+ now but... I can't get on the store.

Also, heh, at least Capcom is giving the Vita something.

JRPGs have been thriving on handhelds for years now. Never stopped being on top.

Alright I worded that badly. However you said "The majority of Indie games are boring and stale and most of all: crap. " which is near as damn it.

Still what ever. Im just saying its a good thing that Vita gets indie games not bad. Its not like if the indie games wernt coming AAA suddenly would. They arn't connected like that.

The indie games the Vita is getting, by and large, are pretty damn good. I can't pick many examples off of the top of my head that I'd consider to be crap.
