Well fuck them to in that case.
Always knew they were Microsoft loyalists. No surprise there.
This is the shit that pisses me off the most. Again, it's not about the opinion.
The person who reviewed the game can think whatever he wants to think.
IT"S THE SCORE ATTACHED. They knew it would stir controversy among the sony fanboys, and generate hits on N4G and other sites and they'll fucking get it.
Uncharted 3 was proof they can phone it in
But this is proof they weren't beginning a decline![]()

That's not my point. My point is that people always complain when review sites tend to stick to the 7-10 scale, but look at this thread. Look at how many readers are furious - furious! - that Polygon dared to give a highly-anticipated game a 7.5/10. It's insane. No wonder gaming sites seem to feel trapped by the score scale.
hey c'mon
uncharted 2 is a lot better than infinite.
but yeah b:i really did strike me at times as a cynical frankenstein of a game designed to hit a bunch of bulletpoints that reviewers love.

Ok.
was hoping for BruceLeeRoy.
Uncharted 2 and 3 did not provide deep emotional responses at all. BI didn't either until the very end. From the sounds of it TLoU does.
I only want to read a review of this game if the score is less than 7/10. Or can talk MP in length.
Exactly, a few people get upset ( with one not being serious), and a narrative gets written about most of the posters in the thread being upset.Very, very few.
So Gunslinger and Remember Me are better than Last of Us according to Polygon?
I wholly disagree. Why do we have so many review sites?Polygon are entitled to give whatever score they want, but I do feel that a review holds a certain amount of responsibility to the consumer insofar as not to let your own personal view influence the score too much.
I should clarify that and say that when I read a review, I want to know if I would like it; not whether someone who MAY have vastly different tastes to me thinks of it. I suppose, this is an impossible request.
People People can we stop talking about the Polygon review. Sometimes games don't click with individuals. I have friends that don't like SMG. I personally worship at that altar but it does nothing for them. No product ever released is going to appease everyones tastes so can we cut the guy some slack and recognize his review will likely reflect a group of people that will definitely think the same thing and in that case his review is a great barometer for them.
Lets move on.

You guys are cracking me up. I don't see much questioning the perfect reviews, but an 8 will bother some people. It's a review, an opinion, they will be different.
Honestly I don't wear the tinfoil hats and assume lower reviews are put out to stir up the fanboys, but that would be funny if that were really the case.

Uncharted 2 has much better combat, story, characters, and set pieces than Tomb Raider but I liked the platforming and puzzle solving a bit more in TR. That said, I thought TR was just pretty good while Uncharted 2 may be the best game of the generation.
We have a few people who are mad a few who desperately trying to fan the flames since this topic was made.
Forbes is like Roger Ebert of video games. Harsh but fair.
Although for me, 7+ is a must buy while 6 or below is forget about it.
Why does everybody keep thinking "emotional responses" are "sad"
Do you not feel joy of a well-placed headshot? The thrill of a great set piece? The suspense of a stealth sequence? Those are all emotional responses...

isn't weird that the first thing some people thought of after reviews for a game came out was whether or not the employees get bonuses for making it?
Infinite is one of the worst games I've played this generation, which is why I can not stand this 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 9.5 10 10 culture
