There should be "please understand" before he enters the atmosphere.

I've got a creative Zelda suggestion:
Stop making Zelda games. There, that's it. A decade or 15 years or 25 years from now, let some mid-level producer discover the series' heritage and take another stab at it. In the mean time, retire it.

Why it's not going to happen:

Awesome Zelda nerd rant

Men after my own heart. :)

Damn, you're right. I'll have to remember that next time. :P

Sounds like Nintendo's pretty much getting a good amount of coverage.

Funny too, when it was announced Nintendo wasn't doing a main big E3 Conference everyone thought Nintendo wouldn't even be at E3.

But it's the opposite, they are getting pretty good coverage as well as having the biggest booths out of the 3 and just replacing there big conference with a big Direct.

Heh, it's funny that some people still think Nintendo won't be at E3.

People like to overreact. I think the myriad of "Nintendoom" threads had a hand in setting the mood.

So I'm watching the IGN Nintendo prediction and Brian says "He has a feeling Nintendo will merge Mario and Sonic for Mario Kart"

Don't know if he's hinting at something or not.

The only person in that video that I would really listen to is Peer. He's part of the original ign nintendo crew from back in the 64 days and I'm sure he still has plenty of sources out there. In the last nintendo podcast Peer said he heard Retro was working on a new brand and now in this video again he brings up the possibility of Retro making a new IP.

Peer keeps hinting at Retro Studios game lol

Yep but he clears up the confusion this time. Last time he said new brand and people wondered if he just meant a Nintendo franchise they've never worked on before. This time he clearly says new IP.

Yeah, looking more likely that it's not Metriod but a new IP, which I am perfectly fine with as long as it's good and it's a 3D game.

Those people will be shocked when they see Nintendo news during E3.

Pretty much. By the way, do we know if the small pre-E3 conference will be live streamed or live blogged ? I'm not expecting any major news to come out of it.

Man if this direct disapoints, the meltdowns are going to be epic. Unfortunately I will be among the ones melting.

Nintendo Direct hasn't failed us yet. Have faith! Just don't expect much in the way of new megaton announcements cause you know Nintendo's prematurely informed us on most of the games already, we just haven't seen em yet)

Oh boo. Now I'm disappointed. Oh well, maybe one of Nintendo's other studios is working on Metroid.

I'm sure we'll get another Metroid sometime soon but I don't expect it from Retro. I said it last night and I'll say it again, I'd love to have the next Metroid be a collaboration title with Rocksteady. It wont happen but It's what I'd love to see.

What a waste of time that fan fic was....

Also why not have Nintendo kart instead of mario kart or smash kart the mario kart franchise is stale as fuck and needs something new.

I'd love to read what you have in mind to change Mario Kart's stale fate. Because Smash Bros in karts and track editor are hardly gamechanger ideas.

Is there a summary of the events happening for Nintendo at e3? I know there's the Nintendo Direct at 10am ET, Nintendo Hour on GT at 1pm ET and the Pokemon event at 9pm ET... But is there anything else? A 3DS event?

That's it. And that Pokémon Event is a local E3 event for press , not a livestream or anything (unless they suddenly announce it's gonna be streamed).

Ah. Maybe a live blog instead? I'm guessing not much 3DS coverage since they announced a lot of those titles coming up already.

Still means very little. He's not in editorial anymore. Could just be guessing or hearing rumors from random people like everyone else.
He's probably still much better connected than most people in the industry. At least on the journalism side.

The newest issue of ONM contains an interview with Animal Crossing: New Leaf Director, Aya Kyogoku. The interview is full of the usual pablum, until Kyogoku starts talking about colleagues who are playing New Leaf.

AK: In my department there's a man called Mr Imamura who has been working on the Star Fox franchise. He's always been a big fan of Animal Crossing and is playing New Leaf at the moment.

Seems like an interesting admission by Kyogoku.

Very true. I'd love to know how much these former editors actually still hang out or talk to guys on the other side and get juicy details.

Regardless, everything he said so far doesn't sound like he really knows or is even subtly hinting at stuff.

Possibly a slip-up and he meant previously worked on Star Fox? If not, cool.

Nice! I hope it's not a slip up or misunderstanding. I needs me some StarFox!

Isn't that a few hours after?

No, right before.

Nintendo press event: 10:30 AM
E3 showfloor opens: 12:00 PM

edit: it wouldn't even make sense the other way around. these events happen before E3 so that people can actually go there and the showfloor isn't deserted for hours.

Is the Nintendo Direct going to happen immediately following the E3 press event, like last year?
