FF VIII destroys FFXIII in everything from game play , story (not saying much), music , characters , side quest \ extra content and even gfx because they made better use of the system .

regardless of what you think about ff8's story, which I recognize as controversial. It had factually better characters/factually better world/factually better gameplay/factually better music/factually better EVERYTHING, including story.
Triple Triad alone is better than most games.

It's pretty much just as bad. Squall is just as shitty as Light, the supporting cast is as obnoxious, battle system is as boring, story is even more nonsensical and tries to do the same shitty drama, and so on.
But yeah, maybe I'm being too unfair. At least VIII has some memorable characters and scenes and though it was shitty it didn't really bore me to death.

ALSO I barely used GFs in 90% of my playthroughs of FF8.
To be fair Esther was the first time you had to think and not spam GFs, since GFs attacked Rinoa as well.
Everytime I see Wild Arms I think of Metal Arms, damn strong game.

Man, people are so afraid of eating crow. I've got no insider info and I'm sticking with $299 ps4. And even though I read the pachter thread afterwards, and I'm convinced pachter knows what he is talking about this time, so I reckon I'm wrong, I'm sticking with the $299 tag.

Heck, I'll throw another one out there. Dead Rising 3 will be at E3. Call it a gut feeling. Heck, with them talking about Deep Down as a next gen title, Dead Rising 3 isn't the most realistic proposition. But there you go.
I wish you were an insider, a real one at that. Furthermore, you will eat crow come Monday. If not, and it is $299, then I will eat crow all day until release even if get the bird flu or somethin. Keep in mind that I'll be happy while eating the crow keeping in mind, a $300 PS4.

Why bother since spamming Shiva + Boost took care of pretty much 90% of the game for you.
Game was too easy to break and didn't require you to know it beforehand. And if you did then you get shit like Zell's Armageddon Fist.

I would kill for a stand alone triple triad game even more fleshed out, I quite liked Blitzball too, it was better than ff13 anyway.
& GF spamming was playing 8 wrong.

I liked XIII better than XII because it erred away from being a slow, tedious MMO-like game. Frankly, there was no way I was going to appreciate XII's combat when it was worse than the legit Final Fantasy MMO (Quickenings sucked). A linear map, while not preferable, is better than pointless corridors with pointless content that just takes so much longer. In a way it was a breath of fresh air for the common JRPG failings, despite not really going far enough to fix problems or being that good of a game. I wasn't disappointed by either, because I don't think Final Fantasy is anything special and I only thought it was back in the day when I was much younger and didn't care if a game was poorly designed. I was, oddly enough, disappointed by XIII-2, because I thought it would be better than XIII (ideally be what SMB2 (jp) is to SMB). It was much worse and seemingly threw out any lessons learned by XIII's odd new direction. I'm rarely invested enough in games to be disappointed, so it must have just been an in the moment thing for me.
Triple Triad isn't really all that strategic to be a big deal to me. It was really cool at the time, because it was a card game within a game. However, I think its praise might be overblown.

Okay - I am playing FFXIII right now for the first time, and just don't get the hate. However, I'm not that far in either. Maybe six hours or so. I liked FFVIII originally, but the gameplay IMO was broken because I literally ran up against a wall later in the game because I didn't read a FAQ and build out my characters better.

that's pretty subjective. IMO sony has already matched it...multiple times. I prefer infamous/drive club/killzone to anything respawn could make. That's not including a possible santa monica title, FF title, and so on.
People worry too much. Just because Sony isn't saying shiteee doesn't mean there aint shiteee.
Also that konami video sucked BALLS.

Yeah but as much as I think Killzone: ShadowFall will probably my best game of Gen8 (thats how much I love Guerilla Games), I don't think it will create the hype/buzz TitanFall will.
kojima was in one of microsoft's xbone trailers last month, so maybe microsoft is more likely
having him show the trailer at sony then confirm mgs5 for ps4 would own though.

it all depends on marketing. TitanFall is a new IP. It won't get the COD hype at all unless it gets a ridiculous amount of marketing.
Also hype isn't indicative of quality. What is an e3 megaton? A game that will be hyped and create buzz? To me it's a game that has been secured that is very quality. No doubt it could be, but all sides will have plenty of those of their own.
I define Megaton as a game or announcement for a specific platform that would turn into an automatic sale for a consumer.
