It's okay, so long as we don't let slip that Santa Monica's game is Barbie's Ultimate Dreamhouse, coming exclusively to PS4 at launch.

...FUCK

We were so close you guys!

Yeah it's pretty impressive that the box hasn't leaked. They definitely did the right thing by not showing the console itself. Kinda like how Lost wasn't nearly as good once all the questions were answered.

And Battlefield and COD are going to eat Killzone alive. Doesn't mean it won't be a launch game.

Well they had to launch it with a first party title. Killzone is their choice.

I will happily eat crow, but I don't see InFamous coming out in 2013. Sucker Punch are 40 men strong, I doubt they're ready for launch. January or February to finish the game and avoid GTA5/Saints Row 4/Watch_Dogs.

I'm guessing DriveClub is a launch game though, since Forza 5 is a launch title for Xbone.

No, I don't think that's why... it's the type of ad that you have to click-to-watch like Super Bowl ads, not the pre-video ads.

Debbie. Downer.

Robbie Realism :/
I'm old, this is the 4'th generation of consoles I've followed closely and the 8'th generation I've lived through.

Let's be realistic here, I'm hoping they knock it out of the park too but I feel certain of 2 things.
Sony will say at least 1 disappointing thing.
Microsoft will at least announce one game / feature which makes a lot of people go "oh ... fuck... maybe I do buy it? ... fuckkkkkkkkk" I'm sure of it.

How much weight do people gain on average during E3?

Yet 1 had better characters and story (but the rest belongs to 2).

I'll leave this here:
Refresh my memory, was this the game where they took the lead character and ran it through committees and focus groups for the sequel, until it became so generic that everyone was offended?

Watch it with English subtitles. I think the game could be very big in the US if they ensure the writing isn't stupid and they change Noctis' hair.

What? Why? I think his hair looks fine, especially after the redesign. I don't think the character would exude the same presence with different hair. Although mostly I just hate when developers alter their original works just to cater to a different audience.

This forum is going to explode and die permanently during E3. I wonder if EviLore has done anything to prevent utter destruction. Hovering at 10,000-12,000 people online at any one time on average now. When the conferences start I expect this number to increase massively.

At least Noctis has hair, right? Most modern game protagonists are either bald or wear hats to avoid modeling hairstyles. I'd be pretty pissed if they shaved Noctis bald or gave him the Nathan Drake cut just to appeal to western audiences.

I think the game's style is consistent and dark enough to avoid the "lolz anime" reaction that a lot of JRPGs get in the West. Especially since unlike FFXIII, its central color isn't pink. The pink and white color scheme definitely did not help XIII's chances in the US.

Being a big FPS fan, I'm extremely excited about Destiny. I haven't played a Bungie game for years, so I'm psyched about their next game hitting the PS4. And I think the strong support from Bungie and Activision for the PS4 version will result in it utilizing all the extra power of the console--instead of just a sloppy port catering to the lowest denominator--making it the best version of the game. Hence, I expect it to look pretty damn awesome.

Any strong 3rd-party support from a major developer is a good thing, regardless of whether you're interested in it or not.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy FPS games myself, and I realize that support is a good thing. Even though I'm not personally interested in it, I'm glad it exists, if that makes sense.

It's just that the name Bungie doesn't do anything for me anymore; I can't get myself hyped over Destiny just because it's Bungie's next release, as others can. Ironically enough, I put in many MANY hours into Halo 3 and Halo: Reach on my 360. I think I'm just burnt out on all things Bungie at the moment, and it doesn't help that Destiny is yet another sci-fi FPS set on alien worlds.

If Versus is revealed I really hope it's voice acted. Even if it's Japanese audio I won't mind, as I feel the Japanese language fits the look and feel of the game.

I just want to know why Noctis is so sleepy all the time and what's going on with him and Stella.

I'm so excited for tomorrow. I am really hoping that Sony delivers and gives me a reason to buy a PS Vita and possibly a cheaper PS3. I am ready to jump on the bandwagon again, I regret getting off the Playstation train and moving to Microsoft.

This is my first E3 on the Gaf forums and I am so pumped for tomorrow!

Well, the fact that it's open-world (and co-op to boot) kinda seals it for me. I've always had a love for open-world FPS games since Far Cry & STALKER (though technically, Far Cry was only semi-open world).

If Destiny were indeed just your typical linear shooter, then yes, I would be much less interested in it than I am now.

What are the chances Resident Evil exclusive for Vita?,
also do you expect something shocking like Epic Games making a trilogy for PS4?.
Where have they been lately? I expected to see them at MS conference.

Who knows? He said this, so we can hope.

I'm probably going to double the size of the server array temporarily for E3 week. Can't ever guarantee anything, especially with the insane traffic spiking these days, but a best effort will be made. The Xbone conference was too one-off to make hardcore preparations along those lines, and on top of that hitting 36k concurrent users was more than a little surprising.
