Wow, are you guys serious? Seem like it.

Color me surprised!

What's with that style of posting though...? To make it harder for anyone to guess who he/she is....?

That and to lessen the likely hood of publications directly quoting him I think. Or just because it's cool. Who knows? Lol.

If Sony zigs on the DRM issue while MS zags, it seems like they could destroy the X1 straight out of the gate. Of course MS has the money to brute force some popularity, and maybe most people just don't care about DRM.

If Sony follows suit on DRM, console gaming is terrible.

I have no idea what to predict at this point.

I would love to see the two approaches side by side in the marketplace.

I can only laugh if they're really going to put World of Tanks behind a paywall. The 60 million people playing for free on PC will flock in droves.

60 million people play world of tanks!?

well this adds a bit of hope that Sony won't be doing something like the Microsoft approach, since Microsoft was the visionary. But only a bit.

Ok, I have a question for the sake of clarity, however, straight off the bat, I'm NOT AN MS SHILL! I'm genuinely in need of clarification regarding the sharing of games with 10 friends and or family. Isn't that the same as lending a physical copy? I'm just wondering if the sharing is limited to a certain length of time? Also, can you both play the game at the same time while sharing?

Only one person can share your collection of games (aside from yourself) at any given time - 10 people have access but only individually - in addition, no, you can't play the same game at the same time.

2. More DRM messaging at Gamescom. There is no rental strategy. Try to sweep it under the rug and hope people don't remember.

Just keep pushing that MS.

3. Cloud power was designed as DRM. Period. DRM was Microsoft's idea. EA and Ubisoft are supporters, Activision slightly less so.

This doesn't shock me one fucking bit. EA and Ubisoft games will be no loss to me. I've bought 1 ubisoft game in years and that was on WII U. Activision behind this sucks to hear though.

4. DRM plans are actually worse than what they've stated.

Again this doesn't shock me one bit.

8. Live paywall still there.

Gee who didn't see that coming.

9. Dead Rising 3, and exclusive DLC for another Capcom game at MS conference.

Meh wasn't a fan of DR 2 but you know if they support MS like this then fuck em. I'll not buy their games.

10. No online paywall for PS4. Unconfirmed.

I really think Sony would be stupid to follow MS's lead here. keep going the PSN plus route.

11. No DRM info for PS4.

This would be stupid as all hell. If they're silent you can bet it's because their following Microsoft's lead. Otherwise they'd be shouting it from the rooftops. If they do then it's PC only for me next gen. I'm not alone. Most will start planning for the end of the year and silence will only make people plan on PC only.

Microsoft bringing the DRM cloud to the pubs is disgusting. Doesn't surprise me that Activision weren't enthusiastic.

Oh so the rumour about Microsoft trying to pay third parties to be quiet about multiplatform Ps4 titles was true? Fucking assholes.

Thanks, CBOAT, for allowing us to be wise to their schemes.

Also: Wow @ Microsoft going to third parties instead of the other way around on that point. Just wow.

This news of Mirror's Edge intrigues me...

I hope they removed gunplay altogether this time. Like, the game it about running, so fucking let me run.

oh shit.

now to translate

1. Confirmed Microsoft is actively attempting to get developers to not mention PS4 versions. If they don't say "OUR GAME IS EXCLUSIVE FOR XBONE" expect a PS4 version. #truthfact

2. More DRM messaging at Gamescom. There is no rental strategy. Try to sweep it under the rug and hope people don't remember.

3. Cloud power was designed as DRM. Period. DRM was Microsoft's idea. EA and Ubisoft are supporters, Activision slightly less so.

4. DRM plans are actually worse than what they've stated.

5. Mirror's Edge 2 at MS conference.

6. Prince of Persia (reboot?) at MS conference.

7. Secret Phil Spencer game = World of Tanks

8. Live paywall still there.

9. Dead Rising 3, and exclusive DLC for another Capcom game at MS conference.

10. No online paywall for PS4. Unconfirmed.

11. No DRM info for PS4.

damn....

edit: also, very smart of him to type like that, help avoid detection

What about playable demos on the show floor?

At this stage would all playable games be running on dev kits? Or will there be PS4/One units at game booths?

my rough translation
--------

^_^ It is confirmed that MS is trying to buying PS4 Non-Mentions in regards to video games. If third parties don't explictily state; “OUR GAME IS EXCLUSIVE FOR XBONE’ Be assured a PS4 version is/will be available. #truthfact

^_^ DRM to be clarified at Gamescom, no real info during E3. Currently there is no plan/strategy for rental chains (Blockbuster, Gamefly, etc), Ultimately there is no planned support for rental chains, Because DRM isn't finalized Thurs/Fri Press release...clusterfuktotal

^_^ Cloud Gaming = DRM Enforcement. Designed from day one for DRM. You know this already though, MS idea, they approached 3rd parties with this, not the other way around. EA/Ubi biggest suporters of this not Activision Which is odd to me.

^_^ Xbone One Drm T.O.S. is worse than you imagine. As of not I don't have collibrations from my sourcess. They are scared for thier job. It will be revealed, IT IS COMING ):

^_^ Mirror's Edge 2 at MS Conference. langlewdell not mkaign an appearnce.

^_^ Prince of Persia reboot/remake at MS Conference

^_^ sspecial sekrit Philupspensergame/? - world of banks frmo warmggamin.et - ??????

^_^ Xbox Live is in full effect.

^_^ Dead Rising 3 announcement and exclusive DLC for other Capcom games

^_^ Sony will have free online gaming, not confirmed? (???)

^_^ Sony is tight lipped about DRM issues. Infuriating me.

Final things before i go to bed

1. All praise neogaf
2. And thank you all, doubtersn ivirals, youre bitter tearzr are my bidet
3. Be nice to Major nelson, he is a PR man.
4. my balls, my word

bye

I'm almost positive Prince of Persia, Mirror's Edge, and Dead Rising aren't exclusive to the One. Wouldn't CBOAT say otherwise?

Isn't the 3rd party thing a bit pointless if Sony could simply confirm the titles themselves right after they are announced?

People will still defend MSFT and their policies. Luckily, 90% of that trash is on hold until well after E3, thanks to solid moderation this last week. Maybe meaningful discussions can be had before it goes to shit.

I wonder if third-parties have to stay quiet about PS4 versions for a specific amount of time.

Probably. I remember the (I believe) 1Up podcast and websites talking about how MS didn't have anything on the level of Assassins Creed when it was first shown at E3 and there was literally nobody willing to say it was coming to 360. Now I don't know if Sony had anything to do with that but I can't imagine why Ubi wouldn't want the extra coverage from admitting to a 360 version. So in short, if a deal is on the table they would have to abide by the rules of the deal.

Maybe now people can stop harping on about third parties pushing the industry towards DRM, and strong-arming Sony into inevitably doing it with the PS4.

This is Microsoft's decision.

I don't really see why MS is blocking PS4 announcements. When Sony did it back during the PS3 launch it just turned into a running joke and really didn't accomplish anything.

Thank you, based CBOAT.

Need a moment to digest all this juicy info.

Happy there's no paywall on online for the PS4.

And Microsoft approached third parties, it seems.
