Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Nobody cares about the showfloor
This.

E3 is, at its core, a press event. This was Sony's chance to showcase something, anything signaling that they intend to keep the system alive.

If I were a retailer, faced with dwindling shelf space in the advent of PS4 and XB1 mega-launches, I'd see no reason to stock Vita on my shelves. I predict that it'll be virtually discontinued very, very soon.

At least I got DOA5 out of it.

I am extremely upset with this conference. No Vita, again. Shafted first for the Wonderbook, shafted again for the PS3. The only announcements were games that other platforms already have. What the hell.

Many stores I see only have maybe a 5x4 section if that. Pretty sure its gonna get bundled with PS4 later

I had my expectations set as low as possible, and Sony still managed to disappoint me.

What a load of bullshit, says "we are committed to the vita" but then announces NOTHING.

This and the recent Sega announcement to not localize a game that 's literally the same as the ps3 version has made me want to sell off my vita, I'm so fucking tired of Sony and 3rd parties not willing to support the vita outside of japan.

Trying to decide whether it's worth it to keep my Vita. I've enjoyed it a lot so far (and I haven't had time to play P4G yet), but if they're gonna stop supporting it then I might as well sell while I can get something for it.

Would localizations get announced in the conference or would it be a booth thing afterwards? I want to see Demon Gaze and the like.

I'll get to play FF:XV on my Vita at least?

So, now, during the indie part, they didn't even mention that Oddworld was coming to the Vita, only PS4. Maybe some of the others are coming too and Sony just doesn't care to mention it?

Hope some of these PS4 indies make it to the Vita or I will get even angrier. Games like Don't Starve, Transistor, Mercenary Kings etc. would work great on the Vita.

Well technically since I now have to eventually get a PS4 I will be able to play KH;3 and FF XV on Vita so that is SOMETHING.

They never said that...
They said as much.

Tretton said that without PS+, you'll be able to enjoy single player games. Some people took what he said (given the segment on no DRM) to mean that you don't need to be connected to enjoy single player games, but their ears were still reeling from the good news that came just before it.

F*ck the small games, we need the BIG guns now Sony. I'm loosing hope for this platform. =(

Sorry, there is no hope.

this was it, they have nothing on Vita I think it was very clear.

I guess I'll get rid of it after Tearaway and this time for good because they didn't fix the lineup issue.

however I'd like to read what Shahid will say about his hyping (for that F2P game) here.

I really love my Vita, but yeah I'm really disappointed right now. Although I just wonder about something, perhaps because of the 15 min late start, Sony have to cut some Vita/PS3 show content off? Cause their conference end at 11:00 pm est exactly as schedule.

Terrible showing for Vita, but what a showing for PS4!

It was obvious this was going to be a PS4 thing all along anyway. We'll see more Vita games and they'll be good for us, but sadly they'll fly under the radar of non-Vita owners like a lot of other Vita games.

EDIT: For the last time, Shahid NEVER said his mystery Vita game would be at E3.

Is anyone keeping their Vita just for PS+ like me? I subscribed 4 months ago for 15 months, and I don't have a PS3. I'm hoping more good games come out for it on IGC.

That said, I don't have any plans to buy another Vita game. Especially after its poor showing.

I am really disappointed but last year they didn't show anything and I enjoyed my Vita anyway the whole year around. Guess it won't change much as long as some big games still get announced at gamescom like last year.

I know it is kinda grasping straws.

yeah that F2P game was before E3.

Terrible showing for Vita,

There is terrible and there is shit, and Vita E3 showing was pure shit full of nothing.

I don't think there will be Vita in 2014, It's clearly that Sony itself don't want the system and don't care if it sell or not(no price cut) and there is just no first party and third party support for the device right now, I can see them discontinue it later this year or next year.

I don't think it's over for Vita, they obviously had to focus all their efforts on knocking MS out right now, the hardware is too good to just abandon and I bet a lot of stuff will start to surface when PS4 is rolling. It's obviously a big focus as far as integrating with it.

Slowest start in handheld history maybe but I doubt it's over.

As Spirits are all around us, there are several ways to obtain new Spirits and add them to your collection. By using the Vita’s location-based technology and traveling real-world distances with your PS Vita – on the bus, in the car, on the train – you can unlock new Spirits with every journey. Interaction with fellow players from around the world will enable you to trade spirits and obtain unique Spirits ONLY available in certain regions – your friends in Japan and Europe will have an entirely different set of Spirits that you’ll want to get a hold of!

Ugh God why. Another stupid travel game. I'm not bringing my Vita anywhere.

Looks fun at least..

They sounded pretty confident about the Vita.
It started good, they threw out some new ports and showed whats coming, but then... nothing.
Why?!? Theres got to be something in developement. They just needed to show one or two exklusive unannounced games that are in development... but they didn't.

At least it sounded like Gaikai is coming to the PsVita.

That E3 will change nothing about the Vitas situation. I have the feeling that Sony thinks that the Vita will sell because of RemotePlay, but I don't think so.

Sahid needs to answer some questions...

I don't think it is fair to hold Shahid accountable for the shit show that was the Vita presentation. I'm just surprised there were no announced price cuts. A price cut could've conceivably saved the damn thing.

A few quotes from Tretton (who I find very unlikable) worried me:

More than 125 vita dedicated games released with 650 psp, psx and psm games

quite a bit of padding, but he mentions the 650 number before moving to Ps3 so I am worried he thinks of it as the *real* number of software released

Vita owners purchase more than 10 titles with 60% of them being digtal

that seems like a fantastic figure for new hardware, but it contrast with the number of new announcements; what is the other side of the story here then? tts 50 million pieces of software that should drive some entusiasm from developers, right?

platform will only get stronger in 2013 especially from indie and smaller developers

I love me some indies, but that especially part doesnt sound very assuring about future support

more than 85 titles by the end of the year

With 6 games mentioned and 5 already revealed before

we are making vita the utltimate companion for ps4

speaks for itself, will the Vita be a rear mirror and access to 650 games only...

so news are:

Gow collection
Dead Nation
Walking Dead bundle
Mention of future support for gaikai on vita

Don't know about the first 3 but Gaikai could be pretty cool.

For sure is now clear we are not going to get anything good vita related from SCEA
Our best bets are still with SCEJ and SCEE

I honestly do not give a damn about PS4 remote play or Gaikai streaming. 90% of my Vita usage is outside of home, without an Internet connection.

I'm probably going to buy the GoW collection. I've wanted it for the Vita for a while and will probably buy it.

My Vita can basically be a portable PS2 and I think that the PS2 library of games I can play on it either as Vita ports or PSP ports is good enough for me. And probably portable indy games too.

Anything new or interesting that comes out is just gravy. And who knows how the launch of the PS4 might help out the Vita.

Two odd things: GOW HD PS3 already works over remote play, and they didn't announce the Sly Trilogy.

Oh no, I guess there are more games coming then!

Also, dat Killzone Merc trailer!

More old PS3 ports. Weeeoooow.

Oh well, I'm sure there'll still be a few more oddball Japanese exclusive games I can look forward to importing in the future before the system completely dies.

Would any of those games move Vitas except for maybe Killzone?

And heck, Men's Room Mayhem has been out for what, 2-3 weeks? Was the 2nd best selling game for the Vita in May.

Wait... has there been some sort of new Vita PS2 ports/PSN classics announcement? Or are you just talking about the likes of GoW, FFX, MGS2/3, etc.?
