Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

The funny thing is that the Vita is already doing better than I expected. When it was first announced I didn't have a clue who would buy such a thing because of the rise of smart phones and tablets. I bought one anyway because I thought it was a great bit of tech. Sadly I think I may have been right from the begging but I went in expecting it and easily got my moneys worth. There are still some games coming I want and I'm sure more than are announced.

PSO2 would really brighten my day a bit though I will admit that.

Top of the page - Buy something..... anything...... oh whats the point 8::(

PS4 needs all the support Sony can give. The handheld battlefield is a lost one, even before E3 Sony would never have been able to beat the 3DS, so from that point of view I think not focusing on the Vita at all at E3 is understandable. Also, only a small portion of gamers and journalists who follow E3 cares about handhelds, the backlash of dedicating more than 10 minutes to the Vita would have been huge.

I was disappointed as well earlier, went to bed at 5AM just for some Vita's announcements. But I can't say I'm too mad now. It just makes sense. I think I can believe Shahid... I only wish they would organize a Vita-only event in the future, a conference in the fashion of Nintendo Direct would be very easy to set up for Sony, so that people not caring about the handheld would not be bothered by it because they'd know beforehand, and fans could see what's really in store for the system, if there's anything at all that is. I want to believe in the Vita.

If Vita is your only device you devote any time to gaming and snatch up every single title every single noteworthy title as soon as they become available, then yeah you should be disappointed.

For me that games on four different platforms, plus older ones (gba is GOAT), having 3 titles I'm interested in the fall (Batman, Killzone, Tearaway) is more than enough.

It reminds me way back when gamers complained about the lack of titles on the n64. While they were miserable I went on and played on my ps1, pc, and gameboy while waiting.

It wasn't worse than I expected, so I have no complaints. The biggest take away is that I need to jump on more PS+ deals as they happen.

I was so angry that i subscribed twitter and sent this to yoshida lol:

"E3 2013 huge disappointment for vita owners and there were already low expectations. No demos shown and old ports no one asked for."

Do you think it was a bad move?

No even a new Bend game. Did Sony move the project to PS4 in the last few months or what? Because that game was my only expectation for Vita this E3.

How could telling him that be a bad move? You think he might send the boys round or something? :P

"teer-away" - fuck off Tretton. dude doesn't even know his own titles...

He doesn't realize it's a paper world. Probably thinks it's yet another brown shooter (YABS).

I'm expecting the Vita announcements today.
Maybe I'm crazy.

They gave the Vita like 2 minutes. They really couldn't spend a few seconds just saying "today is PS4's day; there will be more Vita news later this year"? It's like they have no plans for anything Vita.

Even worse was the way that the games like Dead Nation were announced. Complete contrast with the rest of the conference. The demeanor was "now I'm obligated to get through this Vita stuff."

man i was hoping to wake up to some good news.
Maybe theres some stuff on the floor we have yet to hear/see :/
I feel I was wonderborked again but its worse this time.
Theres always gamescom right guys......

Yeah, I'm guessing Gamescom.

I kinda wish Sony would have announced a separate Vita showing to be seen at a later date before E3, but eh.

Also looking forward to Dead Nation. Only ever played the demo on PS3, should be cool in co-op!

EDIT:
Am I the only one looking forward to Dead Nation? I was playing it on my PS3 a few months ago and thought it would make a heck of a Vita game. Bring it on.
Haha oh snap, looks like you're not the only one. :P

My god, get a hold of yourself!

They do this. Every. Single. Time. When are you going to learn?

You actually believe they have NO Vita games?

lol ok

They never even hyped up E3 for Vita. It was always hyped for PS4.

No, I don't believe so. I know there are decent vita games to look forward to.

See, you say they never hyped E3 which is technically true because they're so vague when they say things, so it could mean anything. But, they decide to hype at a certain time to make people believe the vita is going to have a strong presence. When they start hyping and saying things before E3 time, what do you think gamers are going to presume? Right now they say it's just the start and you'll see in the next couple of months before gamescon, why do you think that is?

All I'm saying is, don't fall for baseless statements that mean jack shit unless they're specific enough to know they're not bullshit. Their job is to hype people and get as many potential consumers as possible to watch their E3 for other products they're trying to sell.

Not getting hyped paid off! Hope Fifa 14 is at least not just a roaster update. Kinda surprised we didn't hear jack from Ubisoft yet. Though they'd show some love ala Rainbow 6/ Asscreed. Oh well atleast we got our F2P android game thing.

Yeah, Vita owners really got the short end of the stick. I'm still a bit blinded by all the PS4 hype, but I am definitely really disappointed in the lack of Vita announcements, and it makes me sad. The only big announcement, Destiny of Spirits, was on of the worst looking things I've seen on Vita.

I guess all we can say is...on to Gamescom. :/ Let's hope for better.

i'm not really that disappointed, since we know at least two big unannounced games are coming to vita (gravity rush 2, next bend game). obviously, we need more than that, but tearaway and killzone were announced at gamescom and they are the biggest games coming this fall. perhaps, we will see more at gamescom. i guess that is really just us continuing to move goalposts, but the vita has seen some great games this past year. if remote play ends up working really well, that will also be a nice plus.

I'm not even sure why I own Sony hardware anymore. Pay-wall for multiplayer incoming, the systems that do free-online and was launched not even two years ago isn't being supported...

Just... WHY.jpg

Edit: As for Walking Dead that better be grandfathered in YOPO. Otherwise it can fuck off.
