The Smash Ball is in one of their promotional posters, so yes, it's coming back.

I'm not... happy unless there's been some heavy tweaks to make it not dumb. Final Smashes seem really unchanged in how they're designed, too (based on what we've seen of the two FSes anyway). =\

It'd be nicer if it was closer to the dragoon, or somehow rewarded people with a high percentage. I personally havent thought it through enough to balance it, but there must be a way.

Well there's this:

Ah, thanks. Not sure how I missed that. Well, Smash Balls are here to stay. I hope they make nabbing a Smash Ball more relevant to how much damage is done rather than how many hits you get off. That, the frequent spawn time, and the wild tracking were the only gripes I had with it.

The boxing arena is covered in generic Smash Bros. logos rather than Punch-Out!! imagery, and Villager has a boxing glove move. I think those are two pretty significant blows against Little Mac, unfortunately.

Eh, doesn't necessarily mean anything. Maybe Mac gets an NYC skyline for a stage. Villager has a bowling ball move too, his move set seems random (although I'll concede there's zero chance we get a Balloon Fighter character now).

Here's a bold claim, and if I'm wrong you can make fun of me: none of the Brawl Assist Trophies will be made into playable characters.

Has anyone asked about or has Sakurai ever commented on the whole mod scene in Brawl, especially on things like Project M?

Did anyone point out that Villager might be similar to Balloon Fighter? After all, he was the third classic character (alongside Ice Climbers and Pit) Sakurai wanted in Smash, and Villager has at least one move like him (the balloon flight move, complete with pose and helmet).

That, or there is a balloon fighter item in this game -- grab it and your character gets 2 balloons and a helmet, allowing them to temporarily avoid death by falling.

Yea, I'm not too excited about Smash balls returning unless there is a tweak or something

Lucina better be the new Fire Emblem character in this game.
Maybe Marth will be an alternate costume with the same moveset a'la Wario. Could be a nice way to keep the "first lord" and add a female rep without having clones.
That's a lot of great potential characters gone.
Didn't sakurai comment on the dojo how well the guy from sin and punishment fits in with the playable characters?

The Wii Fit Trainer is hilarious. Her attacks remind me of all the dorkyeccentric fighting styles people had in Rival Schools/Project Justice.

I recall reading in older new posts that Namco Bandai's involvement was in part to have Smash be competitive-capable. I can't seem to find that specifically but heres a brief list of who from Namco is involved:

Doesn't really mean much... Sakurai is still director; I really doubt Namco will have much influence in the design. But I guess we'll see, won't we? Nothing's truly been proven here from the gameplay we saw today I guess.

I hope this game isn't just Brawl with new characters and new stages. Melee was such a drastic change from 64, I hope we get some new ground breaking stuff like air grabs or something.

As for the actual reveal, I can't say I'm too excited yet. Megaman wasn't a part of my childhood and although I feel like Villager and WFT are cool additions, I don't think they were the right choices for a reveal trailer. Hopefully the Pac-man, Mii and Little Mac thing is just a rumour. I know this is weird, but i feel like Mii is no longer needed now that we have Villager and Wiifit... it makes sense in my head anyway. As for Pac-man, if it wasn't for Namco working on this game I don't think anyone would want to see him.

That is hilarious. I remember on the Smash Bros. episode of Retronauts they joked about the "Wii Fit Yoga Lady" being added.

The lack of Yoshi in the inital reveal makes make sad. I'd doubt he wont be in Smash 4 though, I mean he's in every Smash Bros game up until now.

Wii Fit trainer certainly was a reveal I never would have expected, now that I've seen her in action I like her.

Yeah, Pictures. I wonder when is next date for us to see new characters. I would predict we might not know until Fall 2013.

Maybe... it's possible to predict when the Dojo hype might start by going off of when the Brawl dojo started...?

Nahh... I doubt it, lol.

I still say there should be an option to use a Final Smash meter in place of smash balls. There could be options to have it fill based on damage done, attack variety/frequency, damage received, Etc.

Brawl's site went up when it was revealed in May 2006, but the daily updates didn't start until... May 2007. :(

Yeah, that'd be nice... something you have control over. And then pair that with a more advanced Stamina mode (allow us to use stocks for once in that mode PLEASE) and you could have a weird fusion of traditional fighting game meeting Smash. Of course with the gameplay itself still being Smash. :p

Obviously not the main mode, just something *creative and fun* you could make out of the options given to you. I don't know why the dev team doesn't think of more modes like that, including things like tag team and etc.
