Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

After reviewing GoW: Ascension I might be interested in trying out GoW 1 and 2 on Vita, as I never got far with the original and never tried 2 and that should be the best or one of the two best in the series. Yet I'm really not optimistic about these HD collection ports to Vita anymore..

If you though my earlier list was nice, then you should see IceBreak's list of Announced, Rumoured and Ghostware Vita titles.
I like mine better. It's more up to date I believe. :)

Shit this is the first time I get to use this gif.

Don't see why. The lineup probably is amazing to journalists who haven't been paying attention to Vita announcements and think the Vita haz no games.

Now is there any other Jrpgs coming out to America besides the ones we already heard about? Will we be getting that Demon's Gate?
Most recent announcement was Atelier Meruru Plus just before the conference. Nothing on Demon Gaze beyond Kadokawa registering a US trademark for it a while back.

You should be, this is a Sony Santa Monica production. I just hope it's cross buy, not fancing buying them again (own the PS2 and PS3 versions on disc, as well as the PSN versions...)

So what's the verdict on Paint Park Plus (if any)? Should I replace the original with it? Is there a way to remove that goddamn nagging about linking my Twitter account? I don't want to do that.

Probably the wrong place to ask but have Sony had any demonstrations of remote play working with PS4 on the e3 show floor? I would also like to know if it will be possible to just use the Vita as a second controller when I want to play a 2 player game on PS4.

I think I need to breakdown and buy a bigger memory card even though there is no price drop and the prices are still ridiculous. But I can't decide. My heart says 32 but my wallet says 16

Go 16 GB and you will want to buy a new card soon enough. I contantly have to delete stuff from my 32 GB card.

I downloaded it and played it for a few minutes. seemed fun. I'm no artist but it was simple enough to use. I did get asked to link my twitter a few times.

The need to purchase paintbrush and more colors irked me.

Anyways, is Valhalla Knights 3 gonna have an English release? I must say though, I have never seen a creepier character designs before. That, and the game seems to have a rather unhealthy obsession with boobs makes me wonder a bit.... whether will it be worthwhile to pay attention to.

Got my hands on Killzone, Dragon's Crown, and Batman (Vita versions). Killzone and Batman really impressed me.

Killzone played really smooth, I think I had one instance where there was a hiccup, but overall very smooth. Tried sp and mp (infrastructure only up to 8 players). Melee was weird and annoying, hit triangle and then you have to do a series a swipes that display on screen.

Batman demo was linear. Fighting felt just like the console Batman games. I got stuck on one part where I was forced to throw the batarang, but the enemy kept dodging it.

Dragon's Crown gameplay just didn't click for me, but loved the art. I tried Elf, Sorc, Dwarf, and Amazon. Elf felt the most fun. Dwarf just felt too slow. I might still end up getting it, might be more fun co-op.

Overall Killzone and Batman felt like they will be solid purchases when released.

Was Killzone a stable 30FPS?

You should look at VanillaWare's games as marvels of art design, regardless of if you like or dislike the gameplay.

EDIT:

Does anyone know if Ragnarok Odyssey Ace will work with my vanilla save of RO or do I have to start over? That would be a deal breaker, I really do not want to do all that grinding again:(

Name, appearance, weapon cards, and monster cards will carry over. Costume cards won't. Not sure about other things such as weapons.

dunno, but the DS4 tech demo is done with Xperia Z instead of Vita (poor Vita).

bleh. I realised for my Welcome Back, I didn't choose Dead Nation and Wipeout HD.
so I'm getting none of the goodies :/

I chose them on an account that I can't even remember the username for. I had some weird combination of letters/numbers at the end that I can't remember. So basically, I lost all my welcome back stuff :L

Yes, Xseed is localizing it for some reason.

If it's anything like the previous games, they are the definition of mediocrity. I guess that's why they added the creepy stuff, to make it stand out.

Looks so bland and boring! i would rather purchase a second copy of Soul Sacrifice before playing that game...

Using a tablet shows it'll work on any device like that. Using a Vita would have created a lot of 'does it only work with Vita' questions.

dude said iOS too but didn't mentioned the Vita when the interviewer asked him.

seriously there is no need to defend SCEJ here, they don't care about their own handheld.

Didn't Xseed score an exclusive partnership with Marvelous last year? What happened with that? If it still applies, why aren't they localizing Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus yet? Why do we get random crap we didn't ask for instead?

VK3 is from Marvelous.

It's my fault, I bought the Valhalla Knights PSP games. Well, two of them.

maybe they'll copy Namco style and release the English version on that other system.

/Takao

isn't Xseed part of Marvelous group now?

After seeing the trailer for Stick it to the Man, my interest is piqued. Anything that uses Kenny Rogers deserves my attention

And you win, Sony. I'm too weak. I'll buy your overpriced memory card

Flying Hamster HD is pretty fun :O
just tried the demo

I really like the Minis version, but like Velocity HD, I would have much preferred a sequel. I mean, 2d games don't see a huge improvement in visuals from going from the PSP to Vita, basically just the resolution.

edit: And at least Velocity, they completely re-did the art, I don't think they did that for Flying Hamster. But if you don't have the Minis version it's certainly worth the money.

XSEED has been fully owned by MarvelousAQL for a number of years now.

Maybe they consider it too risky or dangerous for company image.
I mean they are also releasing family friendly stuff like Rune Factory.

Don't jump to conclusions guys, it's just Nomura talking, probably not even involved in these mobile projects. I think we should receive this as "S-E is working on Vita and mobile FF titles" and not much more.

Also, Type-0 could be considered a "new" FF experience compared to traditionals FFs. BELIEVE!

No, it means phone ports based on their "we'll make console games for phones" comments, and the kind of support Capcom and Konami are giving the platform now, ie F2P games.

Some clarification in remote play from the GB interview -

Remote play is part of the OS, works on every single game except ones that use the camera etc.

There is a default control scheme that it uses so even if the developer doesn't put any time into remote play it will still be playable and work.

The custom control schemes are there so devs can make it more natural if they want to

I am perfectly willing to bet that IF FF-type 0 is gonna get an english release, it will be for iOS or Android.

Just you folks wait and see.

Maybe, but the PSP version was on 2 UMDs, so it has to be what, close to 4 gigs?

Then again, the iPad just got KOTOR, which isn't a small game.

Nice! Really hope they push to have the Vita as the 'second screen' app for games. Although I imagine that it'll receive the least amount of love from third parties :<

While that makes sense commercially, I think Vita has a little chance.
The reason is that Type-0 is really an action game. Or to put it bluntly, it's SE's (better) Monster Hunter.
(Another one is Lord of Apocalypse, which was okay but rather mediocre).

Square enix, you are free to make all the mobile shit you want on vita, but damn give me type 0 first! >:O
