Okay, Zavvi's customer service is strange - this time in a good way that's left me with a dilemma.
Basically, I pre-ordered the PS4 between the February reveal and E3, when Zavvi had a 10% off code for the first 200 customers to use it - I didn't expect it to work on a console, but it did. So it ended up at £360, from the initial £400. This was literally the only reason I was keeping the order with Zavvi, to see if they honoured the discount.
Anyway, as we know the actual price was £349.99 - I checked yesterday and my preorder was still sitting at £360. So I emailed Zavvi to see if they'd be amending the price, and cheekily asked if they could apply the 10% off I'd used on the order to the actual price.
Got a response today, it said that they couldn't amend orders - expected response. However, I log in to my account to respond to the ticket asking them if they'd send me a 10% voucher to re-order with - and then I see this:
Not only have they given me a discount after saying they couldn't - the discount is actually greater than it should be. I assume their system has corrected £399 to £349, but still taken off the initial £40. So the PS4 works out even cheaper -
if they send it, that is.
What should I do GAF? Keep it and risk it for a cheaper PS4? Or cancel it and order from somewhere else? I think I'll keep it for now until I see what sort of bundles will be available near launch.
