Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

See, Samus is probably the second most powerful character (third?) in Smash going by games.

Second because Super Sonic exists, for the record. Maybe third because Kirby's also technically pretty powerful? God I want Crash Kirby as his new Final Smash...

Composite Link is pretty hax too.

Pit is probably more powerful than all of them considering the stuff he's had to deal with in uprising.

Edit, actually, DK too. I only say so because
He took down the fucking moon with his bare fist.

God Tier

Kirby (by virtue of being able to use anything the other person has)
Pit
Endgame ALTTP Link
Ganondorf
Everything Equipped Samus
Super Sonic

That's how I'd see it anyways. :P

I don't know if I like how emotionless Mega Man is

I mean, yeah, robot and it actually fits his sprites perfectly

But I guess in my head I always imagined him being happy and determined

After the abuse Capcom has done to him, I imagine he feels cold and heartless.

DAMN YOU PROFESSOR BEEF!

Kirby's technically the most powerful, considering how he can just copy abilities.

Listing each character's achievements isn't saying much, either. Basically every character has saved the universe at least once.

These discussions are always fun. So who would we say are the most powerful Smash characters?

Peach
She has super stregnth, for some reason this is never touched upon in mario games.
Zelda
Super magic
Ness
He has psychic powers
Lucas
same for lucas
Kirby
super skrull
Ganondorf
Super powerful dimensional warping theif wizard

So what's the general consensus on characters leaving the series? Who's more likely to leave the series?

My guess would be Ike, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, Wolf, Toon Link, Snake (obviously). I'd say Lucas too but I'm not sure how popular he is and since Ness is the only other Mother character, he has a chance to stay.

Edit: I see there's a discussion on the previous page.

Doubt Pokemon Trainer will get the cut ... the problem is 2 characters at the same time, not 2 pokeballs at the same time =P

Why do people think that the Ice Climbers are causing problems when they worked perfectly fine in Melee? The 3DS isn't that weak.

They were mentioned as an example in this IGN article, which is seemingly another take on that same interview:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/13/smash-bros-wii-u-3ds-might-not-release-at-the-same-time

It's not clear if Sakurai himself let it slip or if it's just a pointless comment from the writer though. Considering how it wasn't mentioned in the other sites, it might have been just the writer.

Fucking what?
Damn it Sakurai. If designing for two platforms is hindering your development plans don't do it :(

It's an ambiguous statement that could mean anything from tweaking the characters differently in each version to limiting the size of the overall roster in some fashion. We have no specifics.

Until we know the full extent of these limitations, I think some cautious optimism is required.

Yes. I say we wait for the full interview on IGN and Kotaku before we get too worried. Hopefully it will help clarify some things.

I still think the roster will surpass Brawl's number.

At least, it put the rest to Alt. Costume Discussion, without wasting any of our times. :P

He was vague. He could have been talking about "unlocking" costumes and/or "transferring" costumes. It's too much of a stretch still to say there'll be no alt costumes altogether.

I really want to see the Kirby version of all the new characters

Mega Man will be Kirby with helmet, almost certainly.

Villager will probably just give Kirby his hair.

WFT... hair, I guess? Maybe color scheme, too? This one's a strange one.

I have a brawl mod that does that when he sucks up samus, gives him a little mega buster too

"I must succeed!"

It's been explained many times in the thread that reduced probably doesn't mean less characters. Many, many times.

So "reduced" as in lowering a character's movesets or capabilities, as some suggested? I guess the statement is too vague to say one way or the other, but I would hope the 3DS version wouldn't impact the (better) Wii U version.

I'm kinda disappointed by this too. He's so cute but could've been just a liiiiiittle cuter! I feel like it was influenced by Capcom's will to to play things super safe with Mega Man, not remind any western gamers of his potentially embarrassing anime phase, despite the fact that the Mega Man design and art style has been one of the most well defined and consistent thing throughout the years despite some silly box art diversions which are a joke anyway, because all they know is that the one successful thing they did with him in recent history that everyone liked was MM 9 and 10.

Megaman stopped caring years ago. That indifference on his face is priceless.

welp, just read the back pages and lol ,3DS will hurt the wii u version talk
nooooooooooooooooooooo

since brawl got a double layer disc, double layer cart the 3DS version :P

why not have only handheld only DS/3DS characters appear for the 3DS version, so no Olimar or ice climbers since they never were on a DS or 3DS game , ice climbers were on e-shop though hmmm
