Origin (up to) 50% Sale

It seems there's an up to 50% sale going on at Origin (saw the news on Flipboard, but it disappeared in a couple of minutes.) I can't login to Origin from work and I can't confirm it - I'm sure all the fine members of NeoGAF will dig into it and discover any gems available, so at the risk of being wrong (or too late! I tried to check for another thread, there were none I could find), let me announce that there is a (probably abysmal) sale going on at Origin.

Probably Steam is next.

Why on earth are EA so reluctant to reduce BF3 outside the US? I've seen it for $5 on multiple occasions, but even with the current discount, it's £10.49 in the UK.

Why the long case?
I'm brand new to decent performance PC gaming, and I have to say, I just can't believe sale prices sometimes. It sounds stupid to say, because to all of you its normal stuff, but it just blows my mind.

Would you guys say Crysis 3 is worth $20? I absolutely loved the first 3 games and would like to play the final one, but I am not sure if the price is worth it.

Yeah what the fuck is this hot bullshit? £10.49? I'd bite if it weren't, what like £15 normally? Us is getting this for $5, shit I'd buy it for £5 no doubt if they dropped it.

EDIT: I'm assuming items can't be gifted or anything on Origin?

Does this only work in NA?

Works everywhere! :) At least in Europe it does.

Seriously, I'm pissed off. It's still $26 here in Europe.

Nope, after some googling I've concluded that you can't gift stuff since it's account bound. :/

Worth it? I remember playing the 360 version, but I think it felt kind of...unfinished. How's the PC version? It's only Euro 2,49 but I'm not asking if it's worth the money, I'm asking if it's worth playing at all. I already have the Saboteur.

Very worth it, but stay the hell away if you have an AMD gpu.

I don't remember having any problems on my AMD GPU.

Seriously, anyone who hasn't really should buy and play this, it deserved way more love.

Doesn't sales cheapen the IP? Huh? Yeah.

Also, play Saboteur if you haven't. It's flawed on the technical side, but is otherwise a really really cool open world sandbox action game. I'd set some Nazis on fire for a sequel.

Even though I had it for 360 a few years back, I grabbed it a few weeks ago with some Amazon bundle. There weren't many graphic options if I remember correctly. Wasn't very nice to look at. It just felt clunky and... I don't know.... I didn't feel like I was playing the PC version if that makes sense? I deleted it after a few minutes.

Is there a way to gift games on Origin? Would love to get The Saboteur but I'm region-blocked.

You've misunderstood. The purpose of Origin is for EA to have a direct relationship with its customers. Gifting would involve a harmful middleman! As to why you are region-blocked, you are not one of EA's customers, thus a direct relationship with you is inappropriate. There are many advantages to this approach, for example it ensures that games like The Saboteur will continue to receive post-release patches and new, compelling downloadable content well after release.

For some reason the BF3E3 code isn't working here in Canada.

Not working for me either, but at the US.

Edit: Apparently, have to go to "Redeem product code" in the Origin app not through check out to get Close Quarters.

I think the base game is $5; if you want the DLC as well I think it jumps to $20.

Though I hope I am wrong :)

That's what I am looking at right now unless I am missing something. Already have the game, but DLC is still $15.
