3DS Streetpass Experiences

Anyone has got 2 special Miis in a row? One immediately after the other, getting both E3 SpotPass notifications without waiting time?

If not, that would confirm that you get the special Miis every 8 hours, like normal StreetPass notifications (for one/the same Mii).

Last night I got Tezuka, I went to bed and only after I woke up, before leaving to work, I got Hayashida. I left the 3DS on at home, and I when I got home (after +8 hours) Tanabe arrived.
I tried this in three 3DS.

I am still missing Konno >:(

I got two special miis in a row, twice.

You got 2 of these notifications at the same time? Cause it's one Mii per notification, I think.

Can you check the timestamp of both special Miis?

I think the special Miis are sent out one every 12 hours. I'd expect the next one to pop up in (as of this post and based on when I've been getting the morning one), 52 minutes.

I'd guess there can only be one special Mii so the only way to get multiple to show up in the plaza greeting is to receive the notifications.

yeap I got like
2 x Special Greeting from E3 in a row (twice)

so I got
Tezuka and Konno together I think

then
Hayashida and Tanabe together

ignore my personal message, was having some fun :P

Miyamoto was sent out a month or so ago, so I doubt he'll be showing up again.
Since most of these have been America, Canada and some of Europe exclusive so far it suggests they send out special Miis on a country by country basis and Europe did not get Miyamoto last time.

Does Blue-bottomed Miyamoto count as a special streetpass for the 10 special streetpass accomplishment? Edit: Wait, presumably blue-bottomed Miyamoto is just someone is streetpassed in person?

Trying to recall all the special Miis that I've encountered on my 3DS

Reggie
Moffitt
Miyamoto
Iwata
Tanabe
Hayashida
Tezuka
Konno
Aonuma

Ugh so just one more? I have a feeling we will get these more frequently than just once or twice a year now.

I have blue pants Miyamoto too and no achievement so that doesn't count I guess.

So hopefully today they throw us a bone and give us someone else so I can get to 10? And get another pink piece?

I got three legit streetpasses in the wild today. Just as I thought, the release of Animal Crossing has boosted participation (none of them were playing AC, though).

I'm getting a creepy Streetpass visitor... two weeks ago, a Mii called "nickname" started visiting. He looks like a long-haired Hitler and has a pink shirt. He's visited every single day since then, even on Sundays, and I have no idea who it might be. Probably nobody in my building, so it might be somebody walking past outside. The only personal message he has sent was "13" after the 13th visit. After that, back to a generic nonsense-word message. Dun, dun, dunnn... I'm stalked by a Mii.

I guess the special Mii distribution is over now.
I never got Konno :( , but at least I got all the Puzzle Swap pieces. No more for a while, please :P

I'm missing two pink pieces from the Dillon puzzle and a handful of blue pieces for it and AC.

And yeah, no more puzzles for a while please... It's taken me this long to get all of them completed. I was 5 away from being done with Luigi's Mansion, then the Dillon and Animal Crossing puzzles came out within a day of each other. Was super annoyed.

Besides the E3 Specials (Iwata, Tanabe, Hayashida, Tezuka, Konno and Aonuma) just once. A rather creepy looking Mii called "Single♂".

Awww I guess this really is done :(

There are a few first party 3DS releases for the rest of the year so I'd imagine some new puzzles are on the way.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Pokemon, Zelda.....

Help!

My sister just got a 3DS XL. As far as I know she's set up her streetpass plaza correctly but our systems aren't street passing. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Our wireless connections are turned on obviously, and our systems are closed.

Assuming you've gone into the settings inside the plaza and flipped everything on, only thing you can try is switching hats.

I got the pizza hat today. It looks so stupid, but I will never wear anything else from now on.

This made me laugh a lot.

LOL, remind me of one ocassion I was playing something on the xbox 360, and it was late... around 3 or 4 am.

I had my 3ds on the table, and suddenly, it recieved a streetpass notification. It seemed kind of weird, because I live on a building that basically had no people at the time, it was very late, and I live kind of an "underground floor", so it's practically imposible to streetpass people that are walking or driving in front of my building.

I checked the notification and it was some weird Mii that looked like a dog and had a japanese name, the greeting was in japanese too, and its recent software was the japanese version of Mario Kart 7. and it had ALL the puzzles pieces available at the moment. I live in Mexico.

I got the puzzle piece, played the other game, returned to the plaza, and the dog mii was nowhere to be found.

I noticed the next day that the puzzle from where the puzzle piece I got was, was totally blank.

stupid japanese dog mii.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I don't want any more [pink] puzzle pieces.

Getting a StreetPass in Latin American is sooo freaking uncommon and I doubt Nintendo has a solution for this (like the US relay program).

Are there no gaming events or anime expos etc where you're at? Have you tried organizing other local 3DS gamers to meet in some large city? Just some ideas.

You guys in LatinoGAF need to get yourselves organized. Here in several cities in Chile we have weekly meetings where I've gotten 1500+ tags since launch. All I'm missing is one pink piece for the Dillon puzzle, and several random blue ones.

My gf's JP 3DS got some crazy update. Now there is a field with rabbits and she had to upload something. It also gives her the option to buy more plaza games. As far as I can tell, Find Mii 1/2 hasn't changed.

Also she got a Xenoblade puzzle.

Haven't seem it on my US 3DS yet.

Yep, already discussed in separate threads. EU and JP got the update, NA didn't.

3DS System Update Live (Streetpass DLC games, digital game save backups)
3DS Streetpass Plaza updates (UK/EU?) - new Streetpass DLC available. Nintendo's F2P?

I ended up with a blue piece of the Skyward Sword puzzle on my JP 3DS.

I hear there were 3 puzzles? So Skyward Sword, Xenoblade and ___?

Weird timing for these Wii games, btw. Especially when we still don't have any WiiU games.

Been playing with the four new Streetpass games as I purchased the combo pack and thought I would post some initial thoughts. FYI you can only buy the combo pack without purchasing any of the games individually. Once you have bought one on its own you lose the discount option of the pack my friendly rabbit friend told me.

Streetpass Squad - I'm starting with the best. Its an amazing little shmup. Reminds me of Parodius in its presentation. Miis act as both your life bar and your additional attacks. Each streetpass Mii becomes a pod that you collect as you pass through the level like a standard shmup attack power up. They become a mini craft attachment to your ship. The level of the Mii dictates the strength of your weapon and each colour is a different type of attack. If you get hit you lose a Mii and its attack. All your Miis get hit and then its end of level. You rotate your Miis around the pod of the ship using L&R as enemies come from all sides. If you only intend to buy one for me it would be this one. The 3D is great in this one too.

Streetpass Mansion - Takes its cues from streetpass quest but adds a cool tetris esque twist to it. Each Mii you streetpass gives you a piece of a map which is shaped in a tetris piece. You place the piece where you want on the floor of the map to create a corridor/room and progress through the floor of the dungeon. There are multiple pieces in different colours. Joining different colours unlocks a door to a new room and potentially a battle. Battles are active time battle esque RPG fights. Shooting your weapon uses a battery and you have to time shooting with defense to avoid getting bashed by ghosts. I REALLY liked the combat despite it being very simple. As you progress your weapon gains XP, levels up and gets stronger. I think you can unlock different weapons through chests but don't quote me on that.

Streetpass Garden - Basically a gardening simulator. You raise plants (which you can view and zoom around in full 3D) from seeds. Streetpass Miis help you to water and grow the plants. After they bloom you can seed them but I don't know what happens with the seeds. Different visitors to your garden have different plants to grow. There are other things to do but the boxes are greyed out currently so thats all at the moment. Its very nice graphically though I was impressed.

Streetpass Battle - This is rock, paper, scissors with Civ esque elements. Your streetpass Miis add to your army. As your army grows you progress through territorys attacking the ruler and taking over his kingdom. As you take territorys you earn supplies to grow your castle. The cut scene battles were great and very reminiscant of Advance Wars.

Could not use any existing Miis in my plaza without paying for them in playcoins (3 to 5 per Mii depending on the game). Iwata was an amazing space ship ally though and helped me defeat the first boss in Streetpass squad.

Milestones get you Plaza Tickets and these can be spent in the Exchange Shop for special items for your Mii. Heres the kicker though the shop only has five items at a time and changes daily! I have five plaza tickets so far from spending a few play coins on each game recruting some past Miis.

All in all I was impressed especially with Squad and Mansion. Probably not worth the cash if you don't like the approach of the existing Mii Plaza games but I they will be worth it for me as I have been picking up between 3 and 5 hits a day on my commute to work.

I will try and answer any questions anyone has but I have kept it to game mechanics only because there was a lot of fun whimsical stuff that people should experience themselves and I didn't want to spoil it.

Thanks for the impressions. It all sounds awesome to me. Will probably invest once the freezing glitch gets sorted.

Question: Will those who streetpass the same 3DS on a daily basis, ie. if I own two 3DSs, benefit in the same way as those who streetpass different people, or are there gonna be drawbacks I'm not seeing?

LatinoGAF sounds awesome. LOL.

and it's actually a really good idea, in my city we have some sort of comic convention twice a year, but it has become shittier and shittier with each year. I got a nice quantity of tags there, but it's still too random, and maybe I'm getting older, but I don't find the conventions really apealing anymore. Right now it's 80% Naruto merchandise, 10% memes craps, and 10% of whatever it's popular at the moment.

PS. Is there any regiomontanos (Monterrey, México) here on GAF?
