Good thing I'm going Marauder, no more Gridania.
Had to go through each server until one let me in, and then player queue prevented me from playing. Quite happy with the look of my character though.

I've been doing a 3 man party with some friends in Uldah, and our party is Gladiator, Pugilist and <something else, can't recall>.
Got my beta key by watching the video on PSN
Is there some redemption/giveaway code at the end of the video or something?

All I can picture is hundreds of Marauders running around Limsa.

Also when picking a class it shows what city you are going to start in in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

I know it's done in the context of the game, but I think it's a tad odd to force certain jobs to start in a particular area.
New people to the game might want to start on a certain class *and* play with their friend. But there's a good chance those will conflict. Also it means one area is where all the natural healers will be congregated.

Ok just a quick question: When I registered a bit while ago, I chose to be included in both PC and PS3 betas. Yesterday I got my invite e-mail with 2 codes, a beta key and a redeem code for PS3. I'm wondering if I can play the beta in both the PC and the PS3 or just one of them? The e-mail talks about both versions, where to download for the PC version and another explaination on how to redeem the PS3 version.

I noticed they still have that weird calendar bug on the character selection screen. Guess I should report that one again. When selecting your birth date and you pick a number for the day, sometimes that number is counted twice in there and it throws the entire calendar off.

You can travel to other cities after a few quests and levels. Is not really a big problem.
I thought phase 3 was longer. Also are phase 3 characters being wiped or carrying over to launch??
I don't like it, either. I want to level conjurer right away but I'm done with Gridania for life. How far do you have to get before you can actually access the other guilds that aren't in your starting area?

Managed to register the beta code through a NA account instead of EU but now my PS3 wont redeem the code saying that its incorrect or no longer valid.

The PS3 codes are also regioned, so if you got an NA code, you'll need to use an NA PSN account.
I think it's around level 15, after advancing the main storyline.
I have to admit I can't wait to leave the Black Shroud forever now. ._.

Phase 3 will last for about a month. The first few tests of phase 3 will mostly be over the weekend. The servers will remain up for much longer durations in later phase 3 tests.

Level 10 or 15 I think? After a main mission you can go to ther cities. You need to level 10 to acess other guilds.
Phase 3 characters are getting wiped. Pahse 4 progress is the one who carries, if no big problems surfaces.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this, but if I got an email with a beta registration and ps3 promo code does that mean I can only download the ps3 client or can I get it on the PC? I don't mind playing on the ps3, but my computer would be sitting there staring at me.
Edit: Nevermind this got asked a few posts up, I missed it. Mine doesn't say anything about where to download the PC version though.

Wipe at the end of phase 3. Character data is saved during phase 4 and carried into launch as long as no major problems arise.
You can play on PC as well.
PS3 only sorry

Nope. When you get into the PS3 beta, you get two codes: one to apply to your SE account, and one to download the PS3 client from PSN. Once the former code is applied to your SE account, you can log into the game on PC or PS3.
The same is true for the PS3 client for people who are only in on PC. If you manage to get a download of the PS3 client, through game sharing or something, you can use it to play the game.

I assume that if you can make the trip then just as soon as you finish the quest for your current guild that states that you are now free to join other guilds. Forget what level that was though.
Honestly, I like it this way. It adds something unique to the world and main towns. This is coming from a guy that doesn't want to start in Gridania, but will be maining Lancer. Would much rather start in Limsa, but none of the classes there are even useful for making a Dragoon.

Which? The PC client is linked on the beta forums. The PS3 client, well, you'd either have to get a code from somebody or gameshare.
