The NA/EU server list won't load up right now, so I've just been messing around with the character creation. I really like it! So many options! One of the things I disliked about FFXI was that the choices were so limited as far as characters went. Hope the servers start working soon so I can try in game out!
 
So i just checked my email and I got my PS3 key (Yay!), but the one they sent me is for EU and im in NA. Is there anyway to get them to change it, or do i just have to log it in on my EU account?
 
I have installed the beta on my PS3 but it says I must do 3 steps first:

01) Set up a Square Enix account (but I should have one if I signed up for the beta right?)
02) Enter your registration code
03) Link your SEN account.

Where do I do all of this? Is is here?

Yeah something is wrong with the NA/EU world list. Humorously none of the JP servers are accepting new characters now, so if you don't have one on them, you can't play at all.

(Wait, I misread it. You need to create a Square Enix account. It isn't automatic). Do that first. Enter the base beta code there. then the following)

Log onto your PS3 Sign into PSN

Account Management > Redeem Code: (put the ps3 beta code here)

It'll ask if you want to link your SEN account with the SE account, do it. it'll download a 28~mb file. When that's done, open it, and it'll start some small downloads going, eventually you'll get to download the 5~gb file.

You can give away your PS3 code (the one that you have to enter on PSN), yes. If you're already in the beta for PC and you got a PS3 invite, you'll probably notice that the SE account key is the same as the one you already used, so you can't share that one. But giving away the PS3 code would let some other PC-only person play on PS3.
 
This Brendt dude at the beginning of Ul'dah story arc is giving me this creepy vibe. Think it's something about those green eyes/skin complexion and the way hes staring at me.

I already did that and now it asks me to do these 3 steps, I'll just try press Next. But I don't have a Square Enix account. I'll go through the entire setup.
 
I would like to try this but I've been living under a rock. I signed up for ps3 beta today. I went ahead and did the survey so maybe that will help my chances, but whatevs.

I am have an extra registration/promo code if anyone wants it. If you want to play on PC, AFAIK, you have to register is on the PS3 first. First pm gets it.

After finding out that getting into the PS3 beta also means I'm in the PC beta, I think I'll stick to PC for now. Will probably try out the PS3 version at some point.

Edit: I hate that classes are linked to cities, I dont want to do Gridania again D:
 
Meh, downloading taking a long time.
Anyone would want to trade a PC EU key for a PS3 EU key?
 
I actually got my PS3 code! Really excited to give this a go on the weekend. Can't imagine it hooks me as hard as FFXI did, but looking forward to it.

5 gigs though, that's gonna take a while.

I probably won't get to play this beta.

Sigh I wish I could actually play my ps3 while downloading, I never downloaded the DC mmo because of that.
 
Managed to play for a bit on a JP server, shortly before they locked character creation (?) on those servers, so I was quite lucky. All I did was get used to it, I didn't get into any combat or demanding quests, just a couple of fetches to give me something to do. I'm not an MMO player at all, so I can't really judge on the quality of it at all.

I really do not like the UI for PS3 using the controller. Feels very much like there are just too many button presses just working your way around menus. Apart from that, I think the game looks okay, but nothing to write home about. I'll play some more later and hopefully get into some combat, because that's what I really want to find out.
 
Restarted the client and now I have access to NA servers. Just started a character on Ultros.

Just to make sure I have this clear, we're okay to post screenshots where ever, just no video, right?

You can buy a security token, or use the app for iOS/Android. Or just ignore it, leave the box blank and it's fine as long as you don't have a token/app associated with your account.
 
Got my email with the code. Can't look up anything at work, so can someone tell me if the BETA starts right away? And long does it last?

Edit: Sorry, just saw that I can start playing right away.
