do players who purchased the game originally and played have beta access? she got an email today about beta access, but can't figure out where to go to download the client or see anything beta-related at all.

Not sure but I'm guessing if there is any stats dependancy on race, it should be the same as FFXI.

If they're implemented, it isn't. I remember seeing a stat page a while back and they weren't allocated the same way. The galka thing was better at magic than the human thing, for instance.
I think they ended up making no racial stat differences for 1.0 though, not sure honestly.

what classes can you use in the beta?
They have a breakdown of the race stats here for the original FFXIV, so if its still the same on FFXIV:AR then this is it.

I can't get into the shell until I get off from work but I'll be in charge of the Ultros LS and Free Company for 'Fresh Start GAF'. 'Legacy GAF' will be moving to Sargatanas after test 1 and Dega will be leading that guild. Character name is Kuro Murakami.
Not sure about the JP GAF guild on Durandal but you can probably ask Jidasu or Gromph for info.

After spending a little time (only PC so far, PS3 just finished) I think I could really like this game. It controls quite well with a controller. It also looks really damn nice. I really wish this wasn't happening the day that my Last of Us copy was coming in the mail, but hopefully I will find time for both games this weekend.
Pictures are okay, video is not. Phase 3 characters will be wiped.
Noooooooooo! I thought phase three characters would be transferred over. Will my save apperance at least be intact?

Yeah, I was in phase 2, but didn't get an email either. I'll see what happens when I try to log in, AFTER I get the client to blasted download correct. (It keeps error-ing out at around 6-8%)

Yeah, they aren't too clear but you should trying logging in to the SE site and see if there is a Download Client link. Sorry I can't help you further with this. =\

Well I logged out on PC and went right to the PS3 version and logged back in. Everything is working perfectly and I had no issues getting on the Ultros server.
For a beta test, everything is going very smoothly so far. PS3 version looks and runs...ok. I don't know if it's worth hoping for any improvement for this version or not.

I mean I literally did just that, so I would have to say yes. When I got on PS3 I was standing exactly where I left off on PC. I assume that for the full game you'd have to own both versions to do that, though.

I just got my FFXIV invite code and am still on the fence whether to jump in and try it out.. and if I did get it eventually I would buy the PS4 version, so I wouldn't even begin playing beyond the beta until next year. Is it worth the time sink? Haven't played many MMOs beyond Guild Wars but I'm an old hat with the FF series.
