DAT DL'ing Speed!

My PC client was hitting 10-15mb/s earlier. PS3 has yet to hit 750kbps. At this point it's not even telling me what speed it's at, but it says 39 minutes left.

Hey that's the highest speed I've ever seen through PSN

My best was 2.5MB Before for Hitman Absolution

I've been on hold on support to recover my account password for about an hour now. Got a Beta key sent unasked for this morning (probably because I bought the CE of the original POS) so I thought I'd try it out.

Not making a great impression.

Not to mention I had to Google their support phone number because the website said, "Please contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Center by selecting Additional Assistance button located at the bottom of this knowledge base article." No such button existed on the page.
 
I just put in an hour or so. Very impressed so far. It feels like a completely different game to me... and that's a good thing. Looking forward to playing some more this weekend.

Both basically run on the same settings. I have everything maxed on PC and the game looks "decent". Textures are horrible, hence why every screen shot is zoomed out so you don't see what the game really looks like up close. Game has PS3 written all over it.
 
IMPORTANT NEWS the redeem code will not work for Canadian PSN account. Please create American PSN and the redeem code will work. Worked for me at least !

Tests are pretty much every weekend until the phase ends. That's how phase 2 worked.

Instructions on how to redeem the codes (PC only has 1 code – A Square Enix registration code and then you just download the beta from the website. PS3 has 2 codes – a Square Enix registration code and a PS3 download token)

So those with the beta working, how's the character creation? Would you say its great, ok, or bad? I'm just asking because I'm curious.
 
Character name: Teknoman Blade (as usual) on Ultros for now.

Hopefully we can use our new saved character appearance on our legacy character. I like how he turned out.

Also man PC performance is much much better.
 
Why is there a "Beta Registration" code and a "PS3 Promotion" code? Is the Beta Registration code used just to create an account for the beta and the PS3 code is to download the PS3 client?

What if I'm already in the PC beta? Can I just use my PS3 code and download the client or do I need to make another account?
 
I'm on the PC. Can anyone make a brand new character on Ultros right now? Won't let me in to the server.

Did they disable new character creation for now?

Oh, I had actually forgotten about this in the E3 excitement. Sadly the client seems to be stuck on the update, hopefully I'll be able to fit that when I get home this evening.

Download the XIV E3 trailer. Saw a tweet which mentioned that you have a higher chance of getting it then, heh.

In any case, I also had entered the XIII code before, downloaded the trailer and got invited a day later. If only the download wasn't slow...
 
If you have V 1.0 you're already in Beta. If you are already in the beta, then just use the PS3 code to redeem the PS3 version, the other code can be given to someone else to join the PC Beta. :) Enjoy!
