For NA, this Test 1 for Phase 3 goes until Sunday. It doesn't list when the next test starts yet but there are other tests for this phase.
I actually would have preferred playing this on PS3, but I'm not sure yet. It really does run considerably worse than the PC was running for me, and I had to pretty much turn all the settings down.
I wasn't really liking pugilist until I got to level 6. The ability you learn there really brings it all together so you can go full circle with your abilities, so that's nice. Ul'dah city is really pretty, the surrounding field kinda reminds me of Tahrongi in a not so positive way but it's not like it's ugly or anything.
Fridays and Saturdays for Europe I think.

Seems like people is really liking Pugilist, sounds fun.
Also the workaround to not having elemental weaknesses is pretty smart. Thaumaturge looks like could be very interesting.

I finally gae up and created a new SE account on another psn account because the "one time pass" wasn't working!

It did not run fine. It was garbage. I have a 3930k @4.3GHz with 32GB of RAM and a GTX 680. I could not get past 60 FPS in crowded areas.
The graphical fidelity is now HIGHER and I am getting 100 FPS. I'm not sure what you're remembering, but I don't think it's accurate at all.
A console running an MMO is not going to be super pretty. I think its damn impressive its even on a system with 256MB RAM
Beta 2? That did not run fine on most people's set ups.
Even toggling various options didn't help a whole lot, cause it wasn't optimized.

You don't require the One-Time password unless you activate it in the account settings.

1-time pass authentication is not mandatory, as far as I know.

No, I was talking about the original FFXIV. Before Real Reborn.
Dig it. Such wonderful variety in the environments. Vibrant and magical to dark and moody. I hate the idea of a subscription, but it may be worth it to play for awhile in a world like this.

I can now answer your question...yes.
They FINALLY put individual cooldowns on the big hitters and some various skills; so while your basic combos are still the crappy 2.5s global cool, you won't be spamming the strongest move all day.
Furthermore, there's combo bonuses again and directional combat (hit an enemy from behind or the sides for bonuses) like 1.23.
I still like 1.23's combat a lot better but...good enough. I'll play it now.
And agreed, 1.23 smacked ARR down graphically other than the realtime lighting. The art direction is better in ARR, but textures and shaders had to take a huge hit to make it run on dat PSTriple.

Hmm, anyone else having issues getting your PS3 controller (PC version) to calibrate? It's working in other games, but not in XIV. When it go to Calibrate, it tells me to press up on the analog stick, but nothing happens when I do.

you can download a smart phone app for free for the 1 time password.
