For the record, I wouldn't bet money or anything that the two versions will have alternate models, but I do think it'd be a cool reveal for down the road, creating renewed hype for the characters and adding extra incentive to check out both versions of the game. It would also explain why we haven't had screenshots of Villager and Wii Fit Trainer in the 3DS version of the game, even though they're confirmed to be in it.
Maybe. It might be a lot simpler than you think, though. All of the moves Wii Fit Trainer does are fitness moves practiced by both genders.

I don't see why the 3DS would get a male trainer instead (the female trainer is much more recognizable/promoted). The 3DS gets handheld stages and the Wii U gets console stages -- that makes sense. What's the connection between the 3DS and a male fitness trainer other than differentiation for the sake of it?

I've had Miis included in Smash since Brawl hype. Im surprised they skipped Brawl to be honest. I see them working with an overall base moveset. Nothing major really, Wii Sports, Wii Play.. They should really included Find Mii in the moveset
Depending on the size of your Mii would determine speed and weight. Obviously Big Miis should move like Ganondorf while Little Miis could be slightly slower than Pikachu

There won't be, it's better to get used to that than get your hopes up for the (really quite awesome) brawl design back.
Zelda has her old colors in Brawl and Wario has his Mario outfit in Brawl; I'm sure Samus will have her old design.
It'd just be incentive to check out both games, really. I suppose that thematically, it makes more sense with the Villager. Speaking of Villager, the big question there on the 3DS is whether he (she?) will retain Wild World/City Folk proportions, or whether he'll sport the new leggy look of New Leaf. I'd bank on Villager staying short -- the size and shape of the character is key to its hit boxes and they probably wouldn't want to trifle with that.

You're just setting yourself up for disappointment dude, if they ever announce alt costumes as a thing for every character that isn't wario (I'm pretty sure they won't), then yeah, there'll be a proper varia suit design in the game.

I do agree with the Other M design not being as good anyway, the shoulders are much more boring and I really don't like the little nozzle on the end of her armcannon, it makes it look like it isn't built to fire missiles or something.

You know, the more I see of Mega Man, the more scared I am of how OP he's gonna be. Don't get me wrong, I'm estactic that he's in it and he looks really fun to play, I just hope Sakurai doesn't end up pulling a Meta Knight with him.
I mean, the hard knuckle meteor effect shoots down. This means you don't even have to be close to the opponent to meteor him. His smash attack is a charged projectile. That seems pretty dangerous. The metal blade goes in eight directions, the wood shield protects, crash bomber sticks to enemies, good lord!
