Someone doesn't know their history, this is set before the Taliban got in. Everyone was wearing bikinis back then.
Yeah get some knowledge, son

I was thinking about that when it was first revealed.I'm just hearing about the Hayter/Gray Fox/Sutherland theory. It's seems pretty ridiculous to bring in Sutherland of all actors, especially someone of his profile, for a switcheroo gimmick.
Then again, this is Kojima. So I won't rule it out. I do agree with the theory about Haytet voicing Snake on GZ, however.

Thats my kinda lady..Yep. Afghanistan was known as the go-to destination for all women longing to walk around in bikini-tops and thongs in the 70s and 80s. Bikinis also used to be the preferred clothing for women exploring the south pole in the 50s.
We don't know for sure but I think it's assumed it was a trap of some sort for Big Boss planted by Skull Face. Or a message.I'm sure it's been answered many times before but it's a long thread. What in the fuck were they doing to Paz? What was smuggled inside her?
To clarify, will Ground Zeroes be part of The Phantom Pain or released separately?
So you can think of it that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the big game and within that the first prologue to it is Ground Zeroes.
As you saw in the trailer, The Phantom Pain provides a vast world where the player can really go anywhere and get lost. But for past Metal Gear fans used to a linear experience it would probably be hard for them to get used to that without having a prologue and a way to get used to it. So Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes is an interpretation to really give them a very short, smaller version of that scale.
In The Phantom Pain there are real-life day and night cycles but in Ground Zeroes the weather doesn't change and it's at night time. This is to help the past Metal Gear fans to get used to the fact that it's now open-world.
Interesting interview from CVG.

Here is a quote including a few details on Ground Zeroes.
I'm getting the feeling that Ground Zeroes might actually be more like Dead Rising 2 Case Zero with a digital only release should Konami decide to sell it separately.
Thoughts?

I came here and was just thinking that how the hell did the discussion turn from the game to Taliban and bikini babes
GAF :lol
You won't be laughing once you have to sit through a 10 minute codec conversation about Afghan swimwear.
I doubt Kojima will place that conversation in the script![]()

I'm a Hayter fan, but Kiefer sounds good in this trailer. His bit at the start about "Why are we still here? Just to suffer?..." etc. was pretty powerful. I don't think Hayter could have pulled that off as well as Kiefer did.
That was Miller, not BB.
Idoubtexpect Kojima will place that conversation in the script![]()

I bought a PS4 just to play MGS4. I layed down the 500 bucks for the bundle, just to get peace. I just wanted the conclusion. But Kojima won't rest. He won't let me move on.
Didn't Big Boss attend to the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests prior to MGS3 ?Snake: What's that she's wearing? It looks.... interesting
Otacon's Dad: It's called a bikini.
Snake: A bikini you say? .....
Otacon's Dad: The name bikini comes from the Bikini Atoll. Interestingly, nobody on the atoll would wear a bikini. In fact, the french used the atoll as a testing ground for nuclear weapons, so you wouldn't want to be on the atoll at all.
Snake: I don't care about that, tell me about the enticing bikini
Otacon's Dad: Sigh. Some people say that the bikini was originally a joint GRU-KGB design, meant to render the males in the West incapable of thinking about anything else.
Snake: ....
Didn't Big Boss attend to the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests prior to MGS3 ?and thus his hypofertility
I don't remember, but Para-Medic says she was exposed to the nuclear blast on the Bikini Atoll.
Damn it, the more I watch these trailers the more I'm beginning to think we're not really playing as Big Boss after Ground Zeroes.
Just as Ocelot was hypnotized and had Liquid's right arm so is Punished Snake reprogrammed into thinking he's Big Boss, with a robotic left arm. The hallucinations could be a side effect from the process of mind programing. "V has come to" might be referring to this person, that he's woken up from the mind programing process. For all we know, the real Big Boss might've even staged the destruction of Mother Base and joined the Patriots, starting his grand scheme of... nanomachines. Punished Snake could be the phantom of Big Boss' soul, the image of the heroic soldier that he's abandoned and betrayed when he came back to the Patriots.
As Big Boss said at the end of MGS4, "Under certain conditions, someone can be made to play a specific role... Act like someone else."
Lord no

Are we sure she isn't half naked because she hasn't had time to change clothes since getting tortured?
Meh, maybe she just has bad fashion sense haha.
The way he explained it in the podcast made it sound like that's not the case. He said he knows people are gonna ask why is a sniper naked, that would only make her more visible in the desert. And he said that there's a reason why she does that, but he can't tell yet. And I think the black paint around her eyes disappearing is a hint of what her secret ability is.
>>>She could have octocam chameleon ability, insert Kojima plot devise to explain how it works.
Though it would seem a little redundant. I much rather see something new...
I would have her do something like be able to change her skins Contrast, thus altering her luminescence and pigmentation. This would make her indistinguishable when sniping, and hide her in both the shadows and the highlights of any particular environment she finds her self in.
The appearance of her race could change as well, this would add to her infiltration/assimilation in to a local area of any of her missions.

Is it wrong that as I read the conversation, I HEARD their voices in my head? Should I visit a Doctor?
Only if you heard Hayter as Snake![]()

Only just spotted that Snake can finally climb up onto high walls now (immediately after the cigar break). Not sure what they've done but they must have given the controls a good shake-up again. I think there must be a 'stand up'/climb button that's different to the crouch/crawl/bellyflop button, there seem to be too many seamless transitions to do it all with X
Reading this thread is hilarious. My god has Kojima ever screwed the pooch with respect to the timeline of the series, retcons and character progression/regression. It's an incomprehensibly convoluted mess. I doubt even Kojima knows whats going on anymore.
