Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

I had FIFA Football for Vita and I sold it, because I could not stand the cheating AI.

I don't want to play any FIFA again.

By the way I am becoming little by little in a fan of FuturLabs, I have played Beats Sliders and Surge, and I enjoyed both games, now I am playing Coconut Dodge Revitalised, it's a simple and fun game. I still have pending Velocity Ultra, but my 16GB card is full.

the newer FIFA got better AI (FIFA 12/13)sadly the Vita versions are just FIFA 11.

and Konami wasted a chance of getting football fans on Vita, now only hope is for Sony to bring back This is Football/World Tour Soccer again.

Not when the PS3 version has both X and X-2 for the same price. Is the Vita's price even confirmed yet?

is Vita version confirmed for the west or even confirmed as retail release?

no prices are confirmed yet, so i'm not sure where people are getting their numbers from.

also, playing rpgs on a portable >>>> playing on a tv.

If X and X-2 were $19.99 on the Vita each, then I'd consider double dipping for the Vita.

But does anybody seriously think that Square will do that? I am prepared to eat crow here, but X and X-2 on the Vita seems like it'll be a poor deal.

30 for each is what I'm thinking. Maybe 25.

Considering how the Vita version still can't be pre-ordered while the PS3 version has been for a while, I'm genuinely starting to worry that they may pull a Namco/Sega and only release the PS3 version outside Japan.

EDIT: Nevermind http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013...xx-2-hd-remaster-announced-for-north-america/
I guess the real question remaining is will we get a retail release or not.

Since Amazon.com still don't have it, I guess Vita is just a digital release then.

now if the Vita digital release is both games for just $29 (PSvita version usually $10 lowers than PS3) then we are talking.

That is what disappoints me with the FIFA games for Vita, EA just updates the roster and make minor changes. I wish Konami would have done a PES game for the console.

You're in for a treat, Velocity Ultra is their best yet, and up there for GOTY for me.

As soon as I finish the extra minichapters for Corpse Party, I will make space in my card, I want to play Velocity Ultra soon.

I dunno about any other regional Amazons, but Amazon UK is usually pretty late getting Vita games up on their store. Could be similar elsewhere?

ShopTo have a listing for FFX HD as retail, but they also have a listing for War Thunder on PS4 (lol) so who knows.

Sup Vita-GAF, how's life?

Quick question: I heard that the two vita games are God Eater Burst and Virtue Last Reward. Are they released this week or later in the month?

Oh and who's getting Muramasa later this month?

And for all the faces I don't remember: PSN is k3nnycsu. Feel free to add

if Shopto have it, I guess it's a retail relese in Europe but digital only in the US.

God Eater Burst is a PSP game.

both VLS and GEB got released ages ago.

finished germinator recently. it was decently entertaining. started to drag on I feel. some cheap mechanics. controls felt a little finnicky. hard to get a precise shot off quickly. enjoyed it for what it was though. the unique specials per colored germ was nice for gameplay and puzzle mechanics. decent freebie overall.

Since no one post recommendations anymore

5 mediocre Vita games for your "fix"

Asphalt: Injection
If you need your Arcade Racing Fix ,this mediocre game has decent amount of contents (Cars and tracks, multiplayer) it run well with decent framerate, cars look good but it feel on-rail and don't require much skills, also it's still overpriced even when it is a launch game.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock
For your Platforming, platforming puzzles and puzzles fix, it's do stuff by the book with nothing super good or new to the genre but it's alright, there are big frame rate issues and the game feel too repetitive toward the end, also it has the worst doctor.

Urban Trial Freestyle
a clone of Trials, inferior in every way but do a decent job for a clone and will give you your fix if you don't have a 360 or PC to get the real deal.

Army Corps of Hell
Want something like Pikimin and Overlord? this game do that only it's not cute or deep, but it do the job if you need your fix on that.

FIFA 13
Sadly the king wont be on Vita, but this is a good alternative, FIFA 13 (actually FIFA 11) is very good looking game and run very smoothly on Vita, however the ball physics might don't be good for the PES veterans, also a full price for a roster update and no impact engine is kinda steep.

You and me need to have words!

This is SO true. Especially when you have a high fidelity platform like the vita. I wish sony would make a serious push on the vita with rpgs because it's like a match made in heaven for someone even moderately interested in rpgs. Great graphics, brilliant screen, sleep/standby mode is perfect, and portable. You can literally pick up your vita and start playing your game exactly where you left off in 1 second, and quit, just as fast and not lose your place.

I find myself picking up older rpgs that I never finished and getting through them with ease since I don't have to dedicate a night to progress and sitting in one spot. Being able to pick up and play instantly whenever I want makes it very desirable.

Hardly a confirmation. Square-Enix titles get cheap really fast anyway, they always print a lot more copies than they sell. At least that happens in the bomba approved UK market, not sure about the US.

I hated FFX, I could play it again on Vita after all these years if only they removed the random encounters. No chance of that, is there?

just finished UC3... darn that was helluva pretty... but it was underwhelming.
if only UC:GA was as pretty :X

my Vita has been rather underused recently

Finally someone with good taste. X is an awful game and everyone who likes it should feel bad.

I agree with you on something! X had a couple redeeming qualities, but overall, I found it to be a huge disappointment after FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX.

I might pick it up on sale for Vita digitally someday though, to give it another shot, because I did like the sphere grid and the battle system that allowed quick swapping of all party members.

I bought a PS2 for that game :(. Such a disappointment. In the end Sphere grid was only a way to hide a boring linear progress and the swapping was a way to enforce grinding.

32gb cards are so extortionately expensive. I figured that's how Sony made their money on the device. Sigh. That Target deal for $200 seems pretty sweet. I'll hopefully see if I can travel to Target in Honolulu to grab it when I land at the end of the week. Looking forward to getting my hands on a Vita.

I haven't really touched my vita since putting down P4G. So, Vita-Gaf, recommend one of the following for my next vita game:

  • Guacamelee
  • Limbo
  • Thomas Was Alone
  • Little King's Story
  • Need for Speed

Is one of these the clear winner? I'm generally open to all of the above, never played any of any of them, other than the Limbo demo. Limbo and TWA seem short, but if they are still worth the price, that's fine by me.

Some great games in there. I'd have to go with Guacamelee, though.

I liked Limbo better than Thomas, but iirc the former is more expansive than the latter and very high priced in general for what it is, so take that with a grain of salt. I liked LKS on the Wii and I think an handheld would be the perfect platform for it, although I hear the game has a few technical issues. Still have to play Guacamelee but from what I've read I think it will be the clear winner over here. No idea about NFS.

If X and X-2 have no retail versions on the Vita, I just might purchase them on the PS3 instead, though I'd much prefer them on the Vita...

Thanks all. I'll start with Guacamelee!

Guacamelee is so good. I played it once on the Vita by myself, and I just replayed it co-op with my wife on the PS3. The game is gorgeous either way and really fun in co-op (but much easier).

shahidkamal wants to know if you prefer card or digital for Vita games. Use hashtag #vitamediapoll

My reply (that he didn't retweet) "I use cards as much as possible because memory prices are so egregiously expensive and I want to spend my money on Video Games".

Just another quick thing.

What games would you recommend for someone getting a Vita?

Huge fan of RPGs, clever platformers and other interesting indie titles. Not hugely interested in playing FPS or racing games or sports games on the Vita. Other sorts of action or adventure would be great though!

Do you have PS+?

If you like action/adventure then I HIGHLY recommend Gravity Rush.

I'm getting a Vita this week and my PSN account is US based, but I've been hearing about EU PSN+ being super awesome. Is it worth ditching all my trophies and stuff and making a EU account?
