Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Anyone having problem downloading stuff from PSN lately? My Vita always gets stuck on 'Preparing to download', I have to reset it and restart the download to make it work.

Yeah, that's been happening to me more frequently as well. Is there a way to turn off the prompt asking if I want to share that I purchased/downloaded a specific item? I think that may be the problem. I click no, nothing happens. I click no again, still nothing. Then the prompt disappears, but the background is slightly greyed out and I can't do anything except a reboot.

Yes, it's been doing that for the last few months. I thought one update fixed it for a while, but apparently not.

damn! I just installed gods eater burst and holy shit this opening cinematic is great! The music and art style is amazing. Its giving me a persona vibe for some reason.

I just bought my (used) Vita like 2 days ago and this kept happening to me. I thought my Vita might just be messed up. Relieved to see it's PSN.

Does anyone know if Jonah Lomu's Rugby Challenge was released in the US for Vita? The reason why i ask is because i see a few sellers from USA on Play.com that sells the Vita version. However, i've only seen the european version of (with PEGI age-rating, not with ESRB age-rating). I sent a mail to one of the sellers, but they couldnt check the items personally due to different locations of the warehouses.

quick look around online suggests the 360 version is the only version released in NA, ps3 and vita only seem to have PEGI on

Jak Collection Vita

Played about an hour so far of Jak 1. The game runs at like 25fps. Its not terrible, and perfectly playable, but you can definitely tell. If you rotate the camera slowly, you get a jitter to the image. Its sort of like the jitter on PSX games. During regular gameplay, you can tell it is just under native resolution. Cutscenes in engine look really nice. In the options menu, there is a toggle for rumble so I think they did a straight PS3 to Vita port job here.

In the end, I think it's worth a purchase, even with these problems. The gameplay is enjoyable, and I'm really digging the atmosphere so far. This will be my first Jak game and I am impressed.

This made me go into a hysterical cackling fit.

EDIT: Oh, Epic Mickey 2's out? When did that happen lol

Loving the lack of demos for these new releases...

Pubs probably running with the "demos cut your sales in half" belief.

Want to download Burst so bad but 4GB and Blazblue ;_;

Well, when your game's going to sell approximately seven copies regardless, I guess a demo is unnecessary. But all these framerate concerns leave me wary, so too bad, I guess - not getting a sale from me.

any word on spelunky?

coming out this summer and no release date?
Nope. :/

These indies always creep up on us. We'll hear little to nothing and then one day there'll be a post on the PS Blog along the lines of "*Indie Game* releases on PS3/PS Vita this week/month!"

Expecting a post about Hotline Miami very soon, haha.

Wow.. Im so effing torn on this... I have the HD Collection for PS3, But I keep thinking it would get more burn from me on Vita...

So the game plays fine? It just has visible port jankiness? Damn I need more media to decide

If we get no decent size Vita game announcements at Gamescom I will be sufficiently able to say the Vita is dead. Sales are terrible, retailers around the country aren't even carrying Vita games, and we got nothing substantial at E3. I guess we will see. But yeah, two major conferences in a row without any substantial announcements in the second year of a console would definitely be a death sign.

Uncharted and Acid were designed for the smaller screen. DotP sounds like it has been designed for 10" and up.

yeah, they designed dotp for 1024x768 and above. it's possible considering wagic (psp homebrew) runs in 320x240 but it would require interface redesign and they have a hard enough time just supporting the game as is. they do a poor job scaling the cards, would look terrible in 960x544

You want my opinion man?

Move the goalpost to Gamescon in August. If we see no new Vita titles there... then I hope you're getting a PS4 bruh. It was a fun ride...

You left too soon Vita...

After PS4 has been on the market for a year, Those Vita titles will start POURING IN... All devs/Sony care about is install base

:lol You're delusional if you think people are going to buy the system for a PS4 controller or anything like that.

Just enter ad hoc mode like on PSP.

Game seems alright but DEM PIXELY BLOWN UP GRAPHICS. *bites lip so hard it bleeds*

It's not that bad, just turn on the filter and everythi-

I never owned a PSP. How do I enter ad-hoc mode? Do I need to do something on PS3 too?

Start up the Ad-hoc Party application:

"Listen for signals" or something like that in the triangle menu.

Start ad-hoc mode for the game (depends on the game so this isn't universal) ad-hoc mode should start (it should auto-switch on this system and the menu bar will be A instead of the blue-tooth/wifi logo for ad-hoc signals), PS3 should find it and list rooms for God Eater Burst automatically.

Otherwise host room and then do similar for it to pick you up.

My exact face when I saw the character creation close-ups. Just why would you blow up the pixels by 4, Sony? WHY? WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I am not going to pretend its encouraging, but I wouldn't call it dead. I can see why people are freaking out. It could stop releasing games today though and I would be loaded up with enough gaming to be happy for several years.

Do you have to install the PSP ad-hoc application?
I think I tried that once and it wouldn't install?

Man I'm tired. I meant Gamescom. But yeah, I'm getting PS4 so at least there will be that.

You have to install the app on PS3, yes. There is no PSP version.

It's pretty easy to use, man. And since God Eater 2 won't have infrastructure despite it being 2013 but will have support for both handhelds to be using ad-hoc party, you might as well learn it now if you're going that route/picking that up.

I just saw tearaway e3 footage for the first time. That little trick they did with the backtouch/camera? that puts fingers on the actual screen was just... WOW. I am impressed.

Had my first blinking blue light. Almost paniced til a quick google told me to just hold down the power button and have it reboot from debug mode. Back to God Eater

Would I enjoy Gods Eater by myself or would it be a pain in the ass to play that way like Monster Hunter is?

AI allies are amazing don't worry.

Anyone download the second toukiden demo on psn? I'm stuck at the quest where you have to find 5 of those rocks that refill your casts at, but I can't find the last one.

Press select it should be in the first or second area you entered.

I also bought it and think Jak 1 plays fine. Frame rate does not bother me at all. The worst part is the camera control. If you want these games on the go, pick it up.

There's AI allies that seem decent. I haven't gotten above Difficulty 2 yet but there's 5 (with 3 more?) difficulty levels. If you are renting it, I don't see why you wouldn't download it just to try it out. There's no trophies since it's a PSP game so no harm to you? :p

Wait, the blinking blue light is a bad sign?! I get it whenever I put my Vita to sleep. It blinks for a while and then turns off. Is that normal? Or is it related to the problem you had?
