Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Trails in the Sky is on sale. Worth it?

Wait is this only on the EU store? I've been wanting this game for ages. It's listed at 19.99$

A member here mentioned awhile back that they knew someone in the localisation team and that the Vita translation was being done/was done, or something along those lines and a Amazon listing popped up for it around the same time, so there's still a small glimer of hope!

If it isn't announced a month or two after the English PS3 version releases I think I'll just give up all hope and import the Japanese version.

I really hope so. I want to go on a musou game spree for Vita soon. I love musou games, the more the better.

Yes, EU only, down from 269 sek ($ 42) to 121 sek ($19). Great price...

Got bored of Ragnarok Odyssey.

I'm guessing this game has to be played with other people to enjoy it. Single player isn't really doing it for me.

Wondering this as well.

Trails in the Sky was my favorite JRPG on the PSP.

I will warn you, it starts VERY slow. Once the story picks up and you become familiar with the characters and world, it's an amazing ride to the end. The localization was top notch as well.

Well worth it when I bought it new, any price below 40 is a steal.

I'm doing an interview with roll7 (developers of OlliOlli) later today and I was wondering if GAF had any questions about the game?

Hm. Which version of California games did they prefer? I love the Atari Lynx version myself! ;)

A basic fact sheet of the Stage number, stage length, skater designs, etc would be good. I've seen mention of over 30 tricks, so that's a good start.

Maybe you could ask if there's any homages or tributes to classic skating games hidden within OlliOlli? Questions about price point, trophies, etc, wouldn't hurt either.

I'm not even the biggest Skating fan, but I can't help but hum the Atari Lynx CG Half Pipe Theme whenever I see mention of the game. So details on the soundtrack would be appreciated.

And this might be a bit early to ask, but are there any plans to support the game after release? Maybe with additional stages, themes, etc?

The PS.Blog E3 info was pretty good, so if you see anything there that wasn't addressed, be sure to ask :)

Thanks for letting us in on your interview!

Agree with this, but just don't expect a big increase in rythm in the game like I did, it's not THAT crazy, expect until the last hour.
I was constantly waiting for a big amazing ride to start, according to many people here raving about it, and it never really came.
Just go blind, not waiting for anything, the game is really well crafted, with a interesting and fresh world and characters.
Well worth it.

Lol, thanks guise :P Not really bought anything new for my Vita in a week or two. I'm shocked.

I'll probably buy Jak and Daxter soon because i'm the worst kind of person (and i've never played them)

So, I bought Jak Collection retail yesterday, and I booted up Jak 2, as I've already beaten Jak & Daxter on the PS2 and PS3, so I didn't feel the need to beat it a third time at the moment.

Anyway, the visuals actually look fine on the Vita, but of course, not as sharp like, MGS HD. Even so, the game looks nice on the screen. The framerate doesn't bother me too much, but there are definitely framerate issues, especially in the city sections. It doesn't seem to drop too low to affect playability so far, but I'm only a good hour or so into it. It is by no means the travesty that was Full Frontal Assault.

Playing Jak on the go is great, though. Oddly enough, the framerate seems to have negated the motion sickness I sometimes got playing J&D on my HDTV. I don't know what it is, but something about the way the camera moves when playing on my PS2 or 3 gives me a headache. On the Vita, it's been fine. I was even able to play on the bouncing bus to work today with no issues. I had to stop playing Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, because I would just get terribly nauseous and pounding headaches when trying to play it on the bus.

It's not the best port the Vita has seen by a long shot, but it's not even close to the worst. Man, I wish Sony just contracted Bluepoint to produce all of their ports. I'd also kill for a Dark Cloud 1&2 and Rogue Galaxy HD collection on PS3 and Vita (mainly Vita!).

For $30, I'm satisfied with J&D. I was expecting it to be as bad as FFA, but after playing it at E3 last week, I saw it wasn't even close, so took the plunge.

I'm almost 5 hours in and still no action or whatever..... I'm about to give up on this game.

Jak and Daxters framerate's terrible. I'm quite suprised at how decent it looks even though it's sub-native res though, I think I'll stick with it for a little longer and hope the framerate picks up a bit, if it doesn't I'll just replay the PS3 version of Jak 1 or jump into Jak 2 Vita.

I hate to say it, but give it another couple of hours. If you aren't in love with the setting and characters enough by then to continue, then it's probably not for you. Which is fine! It's a very deliberate and plodding game so it's a given that some people won't care for it.

I would quite literally kill for Dark Cloud 1&2. Seriously.

Contact me Sony.

LOL JKs NSA

I'm not actually kidding, name the person.

Is this a new deal?

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita
WipeOut 2048
MotorStorm RC
Little Deviants
Frobisher Says! (with Fun Pack DLC)
Ecolibrium (with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum game packs)
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
Lemmings
Hungry Giraffe
The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character

All of the games, which you’ll have to download from the Store, will fit on the 8GB card – which I have to say is quite surprising given the size of some of the files.

The Pack will cost £34.99 when it releases on the 28th of June here in the UK, and there’s a bundle with a Vita for £219.99.

It sounds like a good deal, but I'm in the US.

I never played it alone and still found it to be a chore far more often than I expected to. I think the combat system doesn't do it for me. The only class whose combo attacks I found interesting was the mage.

oh baby, this would be somethin else

I know, right?

I'm playing it on my BC PS3, and it looks and plays fantastic, but man, it would just be so lovely and clean as an HD Collection. I love Level 5. I even enjoyed White Knight Chronicles for what it was, and Ni No Kuni is brilliant. GIVE ME Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy HD! And throw in Jeanne d'arc HD while you're at it!

LOL. I feel you! We could team up and go on a spree...

I just need those HD collections in my veins! And a sequel to Folklore...

You're welcome and thanks for the request. I'll see what questions I can fit into the interview.

The Jak & Daxter Collection is pretty decent. Camera control is janky, but I expected worse.

By the way, I'll be getting MotoGP '13 tomorrow, will post screens and impressions :)

Damn, I missed the free J&D trilogy :(
At least it is crossbuy, which is great news for my unplayed Sly Collection and Dead Nation purchases. Sony pushing crossbuy is awesome. Really weird that it only happened in the EU, maxbe it's a bug.

Seeing these screen from what I assume to be some HD fan retooling just makes one dream :(

Cel-shaded games are a perfect style for Vita, and Rogue Galaxy could really shine if "HD'd" with the proper care and optimization...

Cool, much appreciated!

so are people here getting Muramasa?

i rented it on wii, enjoyed my time with it, but didnt feel like renting it for more time to finish it.

not sure if it's due for a real pick up or a wait and see approach. the new controls and added characters might help it a bit.... might.

Waiting for a PAL version.

Hey cool, crossbuy. Wasn't planning on buying the Vita collection since I already have the digital PS3 versions, but for free I'll take some Jak on the go. :)

jak 2 has been better than expected. it's so nice to have these games on handheld it sort of negates the occasional framerate drop,
