Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

That's fair enough but the Gamecube is close to ten years old at this point, it was only a matter of time before they got phased out. That adapter looks pretty snazzy at least.

Imma need them to make a GC pro controller, because I feel like that is a smart business move. They could call it the Pro Classic. Make it look all special. ( i just want a shiny game cube controller sue me )

Also I played alot of games that gave me the gc option with that controller.

Do not know how people played mario kart with the wheel

Nothing wrong about buying new controllers; It always has been this way.
Brawl and SSB Wii U (and by extends Nintendo) are doing good things with the old accesories backward compatibility. The only thing missing is the baility to use a 3DS as a controller.

Wheel? Remote + Nunchuck was glorious and super comfortable.

I probably would've been okay with the GC controller if they hadn't changed the scheme up from double dash.

Previously, I didn't need to buy new controllers for smash. I used Game cube controllers for Melee & Brawl.

You couldn't use Dualshocks or OG Xbox controllers on the PS3/360. We did well to get so much use out of the Gamecube controllers. And there are adapters out there, and probably more to come that allow you to use your GC controller anyway.

Yeah. but I used this controller for all other games and not only one game.

Pro Controllers are and will be used for loads of Wii U games in multiplayer.

Unless you want to insist that you definitely won't be using them for any other future hypothetical game or whatever.

Can anyone make me an avatar with kirby's silhouette?

this is gorgeous.
I really think that this more cartoonish style is great.

I can't agree.

I am also in the, "galaxy would have been better, if they had designed it so you could is a gcn controller as well" camp.

Does anyone else hate how the Skyloft stage only has Skyloft floating around in the background with nothing cool happening?
Not even the awesome distance shader is being used (maybe it doesn't work as well in HD though). It could be so much cooler.

I didn't look too closely at the stages, but they seem more flat and unremarkable than the stages in Brawl. We might be seeing early versions of the stages.

They're certainly early versions and we're probably not going to see really active stages until much later into the development, just like Brawl. Most of the stages revealed on the Dojo were pretty basic until a few months in, when we got Rumble Falls revealed. After that the more hectic ones like Warioware and Castle Siege started to trickle in.

I hope they stay that way. A few gimmick stages like Poke Floats or Flat Zone 2 are cool, but half the stages in Brawl were just irritating to play on due to the horrible layouts. See: Mario Bros., 75m, Hanenbow, Luigi's Mansion, Green Hill Zone, etc. Simpler tends to be better in most cases.

Is this even possible? That would be really cool, if true.

And I'll bet money they release a Pro controller that looks like the Gamecube pad. Hopefully its more Wavebird than GC controller. Wavebird is still the best controller I've ever used.

I played Brawl with a CCPro for the first time the other day and my god the left stick is terrible or something. I try to use side B moves, but it ends up doing up-B or down-B moves.

Skyward Sword is bound to be like Sunshine's so the interesting parts will be when it lands. We've just seen the basic floating platform.

That's a good point about the distance filter. Guess they will implement it later as it is part of the Skyward Sword look.

Honestly, as much as I'm looking forward to on-the-go Smashing, I can't image the 3DS will be anywhere in the same league of controller competency as a Pro controller. It's the one part of that version I'm not 100% looking forward to. Anyone else have similar feelings?

To me, I would hope that the 3DS' d-pad can act as character movement with taunts set to the touchscreen. I've played PSA Battle Royal on Vita using D-Pad.
Plus, for the 3DS, any game that is side scroller platformer, I prefer the D-Pad (DKCR, Sonic Generations, NSMB2)

I'm not planning on getting the 3DS version for this reason. It's just not going to control as well as the Wii U game.

IntelliHeath, can you edit that Punch-Out stage analysis into the OP so I can easily retrieve it later? That's amazing. :)

Your wish is granted.

So is there no Dojo blog? Just the website? I like clicking and seeing if there are any new posts. It was one of my favorite thing about Brawl...

Well, I like to look at the picture and I don't have to worry about knowing too much about future game.

Latter one is old but someone made the thread on that.

Just a small geographical observation, in the OP the link for Spanish in America says "SSB Dojo South America" buuuut.... Mexico is in North America, there is whole Central America missing... also if you check the link it says "es-la" which "la" is LATIN AMERICA, so if you please change South America to "Latin America" it will be more accurate :P

So what landing locations are you guys expecting on Skyloft, and have we seen any yet?

I'm pretty darn sure we'll have a landing on the goddess statue hands. (I think in the frames where it's visible you can even see that the hand platform is larger than in SS)

Probably, but the main deal with the 3DS version is the character customization that you then transfer to Wii U.

The platform lands in the area in front of the Goddess statue, that's the only landing point they've shown that I can remember seeing

Unlike Delfino Plaza Skyloft doesn't seem to have as many interesting places to land as far as stage structure goes.

So essentially Sakurai will try to "redo" characters huh?

Actually Sakurai pretty much confirms Lucario's return or at least has a high chance. The only time he is seen as "unpopular" are to non-Pokemon fans lol

Hell, Sylveon seems more likely than Newtwo! It's the one that managed to create a huge amount of talk!
