Well, that's my main beef: they took a basic F2P model and applied it to the fighting game genre without thinking about it twice. It's obvious it needs adaptations to work.I'm pretty sure Tekken Card Tournament was the testing ground for this stuff since it has almost the exact same f2p model, I would assume that did ok for them since they decided to use it. Other than that it's obviously an experiment that will evolve over time based on feedback.
Also, for the records, they outsourced Tekken Card Tournament to a french company, C4M.
I have a friend working there, I'll have to ask him one day how much liberty they had on the project.
