Either one, this game has Ness and Lucas using PK star storm, they could fudge the time line a bit.
she was in the original, she's also been in all games, and if Sakurai had any plans of her leaving, Brawl would have been the game to cut her out, I think the fact that she made it in over Mewtwo who was left out due to time constraints speaks volumes about her relevancy. Hell, I'd say Pkmn Trainer would leave first than her.
Sakurai doesn't get to decide that, he just argues for it.
Uh the reason that mewtwo was cut I am guessing because she is easier to animate because her and kirby are just big round balls of pink.
She doesn't have any relevance anymore really. People tell me she is popular, but as far as pokemon goes it has been proven other wise many MANY TIMES.
And the pokemon trainer, is the guy who started in all.

Jiggles the Puff should stay, if not because she's one of the original Smashers, then because she has an entirely original playstyle and moveset that I don't think they could use for any other kind of character. She's unique, fun, and can be a hell of an opponent when played by people who know how to use her. I'd rather see a bunch of characters go before her.
Considering the amount of money his games bring in, I'm sure Sakurai can do whatever he wants.
I don't see Jigglypuff ever getting removed. It's been on the roster since the N64 game. It's more important to Smash than it is to Pokemon at this point.
Also Sakurai definitely gets to do whatever he wants in the context of Smash, he's got carte blanche from his old friend Iwata.

That is my point. She is "important" to smash, to pokemon not so much.( i still would argue if she went no would care )
The person I suggested that the other should go because she was first, I think her being relevant to Pokemon is more important than being relevant.
If they gotta cut people I feel like she is always on the chopping block.
No one from the N64 roster is getting cut, it's best to get used to that.

Jiggly is on the original roster. She and the others on the SSB roster here to stay no matter what. I have a feeling the same goes for those that joined in Melee and remained in Brawl.

If anything that just solidifies Lucario more. He keeps being pushed by Pokemon co. a lot. Problem is that most people only see the movies when stuff like the anime, merchandising, and hell even video games, push him or his pre-evo a lot.
Actually it felt more like it died down after its "teaser" with the form change. You're only going for the movie and the special. Sylveon on the other hand managed to remain on-topic even by just giving out that one tease, precisely because they keep hyping the type. It's been discussed repeatedly, regardless whether her size in the movie is big or not.
People like to use the movies as a gauge when it's actually more on the overall popularity. Lucairo got in not because he had a movie, but because he had a movie AND a powerful mainstay feel. He managed to be relevant even beyond Gen 4.
With that said, he can still be cut, but that's a very small chance.
Go blame time constraints and Sonic.

Given this argument, I'd say we can almost definitely expect to see her back in this time. This sucker's being developed in less time than any of the others, as far as I can tell.

The only Pokémon rep that I think needs changing (not cut) is Pokémon trainer. I think it should have starters from different gens. I feel like Oshawott is a shoe-in. Maybe they'll keep Charizard. The grass-type I'm not so sure about, maybe Grovyle?

BTW, this is how I'd buff Jiggs without making her OP again:
- F-air's sweet-spot isn't stupid-small anymore.
- F-air's sour-spot isn't stupid-weak anymore.
- D-smash comes out a bit earlier, has less lag.
- F-smash is WAY stronger (how come it's much slower and short-ranged than Kirby's, and also much weaker? I swear Brawl was balanced by baby gorillas).
- Rest is strong again, get rid of the useless flower effect.
- Sing becomes Hyper Voice, is now an attack, reflector or... anything else, really, because it's clear Sing will never be useful (and it shouldn't - paired with Rest it'd be too OP).
- D-tilt is just like Kirby's.
- U-tilt is a KO move, keep the really short range if needed.
- F-tilt has RANGE FFS, it's ridiculous that her tilts are useless because they don't really outperform her jabs in any way. Baby gorillas I tell you.
- Back throw is a kill move at, like, 160%
This would make a pretty huge difference in my opinion and put her at least in mid tier.

I'd consider that cutting characters, considering each pokemon has a completely unique moveset. Unless you give Oshawott and Grovyle the same movesets as Squirtle and Ivysaur, you're cutting characters.

I agree. Jigglypuff's more than proven herself, and has been a staple since the series began. I don't care if people want to weave their stupid tapestry explanations for why this person deserves it more. Jiggs' Rest attack and that hilarious bloating ability made the game fun.

I hope they keep Jigglypuff's Hyrule Bridge inflation glitch.
That's fine and all, but her air game will never be strong again unless we go back to Melee's air-dodge mechanics. As it is she's the 3rd worst character in the game (or absolute worst according to Japanese players) because she's USELESS ground-wise and barely okay air-wise (completely outperformed by Wario, MetaKnight, Marth, Kirby... even Squirtle, maybe).
