Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

so that Epic Mickey..

anyone played it yet..?

One person mentioned the game being complete shit and that platforming is boring, he bought it for co-op. ELTheGeek has another gameplay video of the game that lasts half an hour, this should give you a good indication wether the game is worth getting. His second video looks better than the first one framerate and performance wise.

Personally I decided to buy the game since it's 12 pounds only and I'm very intrigued and curious about it for some reason. You can now buy the game from the UK store through search or banner. File size is around 3,1 gb, I'm DLing the game now and even though it's not a great idea to play it since there are more than enough vita games I'm currently busy with, I'm going to make an exception because I'm too curious to know how good of a game it is, how good the port is and wondering why the game is hated so much on consoles.

The new Dragon Ball game is going to be released in Europe (at the very least).

Maybe they'll release One Piece Musou 2 after all.

Lol.. I was just asking... because I got the game yesterday .. and the framerate and performance is hurting my little brain. The game looks OK, but damnit the camera control combined with the bad framerate makes me want to puke..

I´m supposed to write a review.. lol.. the gameplay is actually quite fun (I like games where you can explore and do sidequests), but the technical stuff is so bad (for me) that I simply cannot play through the game..

I'm glad to see it's confirmed for a PAL Vita release!
Is that the official Vita boxart though? Because if so (Battle of Gods spoilers)
Way to spoil what the Super Saiyan God form looks like for those that have gone on a media blackout for the movie Namco Bandai. Ah well, I guess it couldn't be avoided and was going to happen eventually given how long Funimation seems like they'll be taking to bring the movie over.
Fingers crossed Pirate Warriors 2 follows suite with a Western release.

Oh, I see.

Are the framerate and performance like shown on this video most of the time? If that's the case then it shouldn't be a problem to me. It looked playable. Nice to know that you find the gameplay fun.

hmmm.. hard to tell from those videos.. you can adjust some stuff (like camera sensitivity), that helps a bit, but not on the framerate. It probably is like those videos, I´m at work, so can´t check right now..

The Christian Whitehead Sonic remakes of 1 and CD are a dollar on the Google Pay Store. Still wondering why they can't bother to put out a Vita release.

Gamescom in August, what're people expecting?
Personally I hope we hear about a Dangan Ronpa Localisation, a Mind 0 localisation, bigger memory cards and a new Vita revision. Realistically, I don't think all of those will happen, but I'd be content with a DR localisation announcement even if it's digital only (though I would prefer physical obviously.)

It would be nice to have CD on the Vita, but if you REALLY want Sonic 1 on the go, you can get the PSP Sega Genesis collection (transferable to Vita via PS3.)

I think a slightly price cut of the machine and/or the cards would push me over the fence.

A better look at that huge list of Vita titles they showed at e3 would be cool, with maybe a few more announced as well.

What is it with all these framerate problems? In the last year we had quite a few framerate-related surprises:

- AC: Liberation
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
- Ratchet & Clank FFA
- Jak & Daxter Collection
- Epic Mickey 2

Feel free to add any other that come to mind.
Could it be that Sony is mandating the games to look better on screenshots by sacrificing how smoothly they run, just to keep up the "PS3 on the go" image? All these developers must notice that their games would be much more playable if the ran at least at a constant 30 fps.

don't think Sony will go to that extent...
it's probably... just lazy porting.. bad QA.

I do hope for patches. I missed out on quite a few PS2 classics... and to think I would finally play them on the Vita, smh.

and they need to unify the store... cross-buy should not be region-specific or what not

I own the games in quite a few formats (and now on my phone), but what I reeeally want are the remakes (widescreen goodness) playable with buttons. I'd take it over quite a few indie games, that's for sure.

Remember, Gamescom is much more an EU-centric show than E3 is US-centric - I wouldn't go expecting much Japan stuff there.

So I finish Dragon Fantasy: Book 1, and I found the game charming.

PRO

- They nailed that DQ NES feel
- Clever dialogue and nice homages.
- A small scale Trinity Sight and branching storylines.
- Uncovering the lore of the world by reading books and talking with the people feels refreshing.
- The game has a pretty nice lenght (10 hours for all the characters and the intermission).
- I am actually curious to see where the story goes from now.

CONS

- They really nailed that DQ NES feel (high encounter ratio / songs that loop all the time)
- The story feels more like a prologue, than the full first chapter.
- Even with the patch, the attack miss rate is pretty wonky.
- The game has some bugs, nothing game breaking.
- The Minecraft sidequest looks way out of place.

7.5/10

anyone still play ultimate marvel? getting back into it and would like more people on my friend's list that hopefully have decent connections so we can do some sessions.

Anyone played the PSP Armored Core games? I was just wondering if the controls map to the right stick.

Playing Gods Eater Burst makes me want to explore more of the PSP library while waiting for new releases.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect localisation announcements. We certainly won't hear about them at TGS.
But localization announcements seem to come outside conferences more often than not... Muramasa, Ys and Valhalla Knights were just the publishers sending out press releases back in February for example.

And only European publishers would be likely to be going to Gamescom, and they usually just wait for games to come to NA so they can license the translation. Though I guess Rising Star Games might be thinking of licensing and translating more stuff themselves with them opening a NA branch and putting out Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut in both markets.

Welcome to the vitabrotherhood.

Do you have PS+? Do you have a large enough memory card?

No, right now all I have is the Vita and Limbo. I plan to jump in on + anyway and am going to look for a memory card this weekend. I was wondering if the official starter kit is a good deal?

Just took some screenshots of MotoGP13 I got from PSN this morning.

That actually look good.

-How is the acceleration without analoge trigger?
-How is the framerate?

Vita bought.. should be here early next week

Congrats.

get Persona 4 Golden, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, New Little King's Story, Guacamelee (if you don't have it on PS3) and Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure (PSP).

The new Dragon Ball game is going to be released in Europe (at the very least).

Nice for the European Vita owners.

my guess it'll be a digital release only in NA.

Just joined the party. I bought my friend's Vita and have been pleased so far. It really is a nice piece of kit.

Welcome to the collective. You need a large chunk of memory, PS+ and start adding us as friends to your psn account...

Go get Persona 4 if you are even a little bit interested in JRPG's it is brilliant.

Hotline Miami for Europe on the 26th next week, too. Yes!

Luftrausers is done and in cert, hopefully it's done as quickly as Hotline Miami. I think I want Luftrausers more.

That actually look good.

-How is the framerate?

Reposting my gameplay video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i7yOafeKUY

Framerate is very stable. Never had it drop and it feels smooth. It's not 60 FPS, but it's still fine.

Digital throttle/brake works surprisingly well. After trying the PS3 demo, I thought I'd miss analog controls on the Vita, but I'm perfectly happy with digital.

It's a very good port by the way, career mode is intact (unlike WRC3). The only flaw is that there are only 16 riders on tracks (vs. 24 on the PS3), not a huge problem though. There's also 6 player online multiplayer.

Hot damn. I don't watch the anime but the combat looks so good. This might be first DBZ game I play since that Half-Life 1 mod lol.

Your not missing much by not watching the anime. Someone is always more powerful then the good guy, then the good guy becomes more powerful and his hair changes color.... then the circle of power starts all over again.

Even though it is stupid I am eager for this game. It looks like a lot of fun.

Yup! It will be nice to have that after all of the low-framerate games this week.

Sweet. Hype plus 200.

I'm glad to see it's confirmed for a PAL Vita release!

That could be easily mistaken for
Kaio-Ken
imo.

I really don't like the defeault configuration. Acceleration is on "R" button, but at least you can change it. There're 4 configs, one of them is with the acceleration in the right analog, isn't bad at all but I prefer it in the "x" button. When you have to press "R" many times or during long times I notice it "moves" too much... but well as I said at least you have 4 configurations. You won't find an arcade I think it's pretty hard even with all help activated (2 break buttons front and back).
I think the framerate is pretty solid, I didn't notice slowdowns even with many riders on the screen but well graphics aren't nothing special so it did not requires that much.

Haha that's it eh. I know that they transform and become more powerful which is fine and dandy. I'm just drawn to the stylish combat. Hopefully it runs aight on the Vita.
