Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Getting Zelda out isn't bad. SmaBro games tend to use previous gen games as a base for characters and stages. Zelda was legitime in Melee because of its shape shifting with Sheik who is much more a fighter character.
In Brawl? Well, should have been based on The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess, and in fact many people regret Midna's not making it.

I would suggest taking Zelda out and Skyward Sword Impa in. She is a fighter with good moves, unique silhouette (very tall) and with some magic powers. I'm not so confident to do the same move between Ganondorf and Ghirahim but having the latest one could be cool too.

Impa is bleh. She doesn't have any moves to put into her moveset. I'd much rather see them have Sheik as a standalone character and put SS Zelda in the game. She also doesn't have a lot of moves but at least she's a better character than goddamn Impa.

Do people believe there's a good chance that a company might get more than one guest to appear? Like the aforementioned Simon Belmont, or Ryu from Street Fighter?

Because Captain Falcon and Fox McCloud had a lot of moves to pool from back when they were introduced in SSB64, right? (I'm not agreeing with Impa as a character, but that's hardly a mark against her)

Sheik has been an alter ego for Zelda in one (!) game. Impa has been a supporting character in that game, as well as many others, including the very first one.
Also, Sheik's moveset was created entirely for Smash, as she has no actual moves in the game she appears in, other than plucking a harp and throwing a smoke bomb. Impa easily could inherit Sheik's moveset, as Zelda was taught the art of the ninja by Impa in the first place.

While I don't agree with removing Zelda, I could see Sheik going independent from Zelda and turned into Impa. And that would be awesome.

Knowing Sakurai's take on 3rd party characters, I think it will be fairly limited. He always sounds like wants the least amount of 3rd party characters as possible, which I think is a good thing. I'd rather them go deep into obscure Nintendo than pulling out a popular non-nintendo character, but I get that it sells copies. Also, I can't deny that putting Mega Man in there is one of the best 3rd party decisions they could have made.

Sakurai has already said he's not going to have a bunch of 3rd part characters, and that he thinks Megaman should be seen as a special case, or something like that. I doubt we will see more from Capcom or whoever.

Are there any more gifs like this, or no?

I think there are only link and pit.

If Ryu was added and given a Shoryukuen like Megaman has, and a fireball, he'd be considered a lazy clone so it's best to leave him out.

At least Capt. Falcon and Fox were iconic and important Nintendo characters. Impa doesn't have much going for her at all.

I guess I'd be OK with it if she replaced Sheik. And I'll never say no to more standalone characters. I hope they make ZSS an independent character as well so her final smash isn't: 'turn into inferior fighter'.

BTW I love that 2 of the confirmed characters no one even thought of beforehand. Sakurai you so crazy.

I actually have a weirdly strong feeling Simon Belmont is going to be in this game. Just having mega man there is like asking for it... asking for a full-on NES reunion.

Plus, Konami threw snake in there before, so they're more than willing to help out.

If this happened, I would never play another game again. Simon would be amazing. O.e

I agree on all counts! I hope it happens, I like Shiek but Impa would be a nice way to rep SS. Also, Sakurai would not have to try to balance Zelda and Sheik which will likely end with more nerfing than anything else I'm also getting tired of that damn chain move, lol it's played out.

Has anyone mentioned Wara Plaza place on the Wii U menu being a stage? Think it'd be a wicked idea, have random Mii's watching and reacting to the fights, while we fight on top icons. I can imaging the Mii's effecting the battle some how.. like just dancing around and moving the icons that people fight on, and @ 8 o clock Saturday nights specially appearance from Reggie

Great idea! They could even have actual text bubbles pulled from Miiverse pop up and disappear as temporary platforms.

Is online play confirmed for both titles? How has online play been for Wii U?

If Nintendo can pull off good online play for these games, I will pick them up. Hopefully it won't be a shitshow like Brawls online.

You don't have to worry about Nintendo doing the online since Namco is doing it.

Yeah, Villager was a dirty trick from Sakurai. I used to have Villager on all my predictions for the Brawl roster, but then Sakurai came out with that "well, Animal Crossing characters don't seem like fighters, do they?" nonsense.

I don't see Ryu getting in. Like the others said before, third parties aren't the ones being celebrated here.

I just realized something. I love unlocking characters in the SSB series (except for Brawl since SSE killed the whole suspense of "New Challenger Approaching"). But what I would not like is having to unlock characters twice (Wii U and 3DS). I hope they make all unlocks and stuff transfer between the two.

This means Nintendog is also a possibility.
My god, the assist trophy, the new stage on the 3DS, it's all been leading to this!!

Though after hearing suggestions on the Duck Hunt dog, I'd totally be up for him being playable or at least a stage based on it.

Hopefully, since MH3U introduced the ability to transfer saves from 3DS to Wii U and vice versa, they'll do the same for this, especially since they already confirmed the two will be able to transfer data already.

Not to me.

That's pretty much why I believe Bayonetta doesn't have a chance of making it in the roster over Sonic.

Even though bayonetta 1 was published by sega I don't think people actually think of her as a sega character. She will be a rep of the current nintendo-platinum partnership if she makes it in.

So long as Sega owns the IP, Bayonetta is and should be considered a rep from Sega. Even with the Ninty and Platinum partnership for the second game.

And I don't really trust what some people opinions are, when there are those who want Sora and consider him to be a Square Enix rep.

The more I think about it, the less I really want Ryu in Smash 4. That said, Simon Belmont would be awesome in this game, but I kinda feel if we get a Castlevania rep, it'll be from the newer games.

Edit: Nope. They are owned by Sega.

Simon Belmont was in the most recent game so lets not count him out quite yet, i'd love a CV rep but unfortunately I don't see it happening, and as far as Belmonts go i'm more of a Trevor guy.

If a Castlevania character gets in the game (and that's a massive if, of course), it'd have to be a character that's been on Nintendo platforms, and important to Nintendo culture, based on Sakurai's past statements. Snake still fits because Twin Snakes and Metal Gear's first appearance in the west was on Nintendo platforms.

I guess this is mostly opinion, but Castlevania is a series from the classic Nintendo days of yore, and much like Mega Man could only properly be represented in that context with a classic character. The only ones that really fit that bill would be Simon or Trevor. Lords of Shadow only has one Nintendo game to show for it and not really representative of the franchise at large, so we can probably count those out. The portable Castlevanias did nothing to light the world on fire, so they're probably not even worth bringing up.

There is a rumor going on on /v/ right now that the Wonderful 101 main character will be playable.
Few days from W101's release, "Wonder Red in SSB Wii U & 3DS!" with trailer, people get hyped, therefore decide to check out the game, marketing pays off and the game sells well.

.....or that's what I wouldn't mind happening. I'm rather skeptical at the moment, and it'd be awesome if it happened, but I'm keeping expectations in line.

Yeah. Supposedly several people are looking at the code for the smash bros website, and found a line there for "wondereyes". Everyone assumes is the main hero from W101.

What page are they finding the line? I did "view page source" on a few of them via Chrome & I'm not finding it, unless it's on the JPN site.

Have you played a single online Nintendo game since Brawl? It'll be fine

Really? Well maybe there is hope.

As for me, I'd prefer Soma Cruz in Smash for CV, but the odds of that happening are nil.
I'd actually prefer Soma, Alucard or Shanoa over a Belmont myself but yeah, thoses odds are faaaar lower.
At least a Belmont would lead to a fun whip based moveset, mid range character combined with the various sub weapons.

They should add Alucard with the Shield Rod.

Fighting Meta Knight in a battle of sheer breakage.

Japan site has identical code from what I can tell, just language specific text and assets.

It's not going to be there, since it's /v/.
