Week of June 24th to the 30th, 2013.

Fighting Games Weekly is the weekly discussion thread for all things fighting games. News, events, streams, videos, players, drama, everything fighting game related.

Don't know what to watch right now? Check the FGCPros Twitch Group or Jaxel's Stream Viewer. If you want to watch multiple streams at once, you can use Jaxel's customizable multiviewer as well.

New to FGC-GAF is the FGC-GAF Index which lists the fighting games GAFers plays as a neat reference with some rough statistics to boot. To add yourself to the index, quote this post and use the survey link below. Please remember to save/bookmark the "Edit your response" link so you can edit your responses if/when you buy a game already on the list or a new game that releases in the future.

People throwing lavish parties and then complaining about money is something that really irritates me about the gaming industry (and every facet of life where such behavior takes place, really). Don't talk about how you need to take away used games and shit if you're going to throw a parties with a cabernet fountains and ridiculous goodie bags.

I wonder if it's the same logic that people who make $500k a year use to talk about how they're "struggling." How there's this peer pressure to buy expensive cars and expensive houses to keep up with the Joneses.

Pretty much. Clifford B is the worst.

I am resisting telling a relevant story to this post SO HARD right now... 2010 memories, that's all I can say.

I imagine throwing an E3 party once a year is much less expensive than paying all their partners for that month and comes from a different budget.

Even so I'm interested in twitch's business model since it's pretty strongly tied to gaming as a whole now. I know a while back they had a hard time finding clients that wanted to buy ads because the CPM demand was increasing too quickly for them to catch up. Has that been resolved now?

I heard IPL went bankrupt cause they were spending way too much on eSports afterparties.
Ho, hum. I wonder where Mr Jared is to talk about this kind of thing?

Are there any matches of kagura yet? I was wondering because they said he would be a basic character who has few special moves but stances with different normals. I'm just hoping that he might have really good normals because I do like those kind of characters where I can outpoke and has good footsies.

He's a console only character right now, you have to beat the true end of story mode to unlock him. So there wont be any footage of matches with him for a while. Same for Terumi

What have you done? Now all of GAF is on Twitch's shit list.

Panda, this is your chance for history. Make the CEO thread. Might want to ask Jebbie for details.
