This would include Ganondorf, King Hippo, Dracula, Ridley, Medusa, Bowser, Samurai Goroh, Star Wolf, etc.There are plenty of characters just for the core line-up in my opinion. I know this will never happen since Bowser is a staple Smash character, but it would give the single player more meat.

Also, if Pac-Man is included, just make him an assist trophy.

Punch Out was awesome on the Wii. They really went all out on it. Motion controls are only so-so, though.

there's also a total knock off called Power Punch, if you can't get enough Punch Out gameplay. Although it's a pretty far cry from being a good game.

Couldn't you make a case that R.O.B pretty much is that? The R.O.B Army were the primary grunts of the game, and out of all of the characters on the roster R.O.B had the least to work with. In a way he kind of is an original character.

Gyromite and Stack up do not even feature R.O.B beyond the toy, and Mario Kart DS didn't really add anything to him besides a "voice". Sakurai pretty much pulled R.O.B's moveset out of thin air, playing upon a lot of the typical robot tropes. I get what you are saying though.

Biggest fighting game tournament in existence. Smash had a presence there with Melee, not so much with Brawl. I'm hoping the new Smash is gonna put it under the spotlight again. (Though there's no way it will get the same as MVC or SF.)

I played some Brawl last night for the first time in years. I really hope they flesh out the online with the new Smash. It takes so long to get a game going and then the netcode isn't great and there should be more variation in game types.
